The Bachelor Season 20
The Bachelor Season
20 Finale
Tonight,
finally season 20 ends and we find out who the next Bachelorette will be. But first, Ben has one more date with each of
the women and they get to meet the Higgins.
Each of the women wake up and give a backstory to their feelings for Ben
and where they think they stand before meeting the parents.
Ben first
meets up with his mom and dad to let them know where he stands and how he told
both women that he loves them.
We start off
with Lauren....
When she
arrives, she has a bottle of wine in one hand and a bunch of flowers in the
other. The first thing that Ben says to
her though is “high beautiful”. That
has been their greeting for a while now.
Lauren has a chat with Ben’s dad, David first and he admits to her that
he has a twinkle in his eye that he hasn’t had before. Lauren readily admits to him that she loves
Ben and is ready to get married soon.
When it comes to talking to Ben’s mom Amy, she also is very open and
friendly when it comes to discussing her feelings for Ben. The big thing for me is when Lauren asked Amy
what she can do to help Ben in the future....it spoke volumes that she’s
already at the point of the long run thinking.
It seems to of taken Amy aback from her emotions that she was clearly
feeling. When Ben spoke to his mom
though..... he admitted that neither of the women knew that Ben loves the other
one as well. You can tell that Amy was
feeling bad for Ben and “hurting” I guess is the best way to describe it for
what she knows would be a hard thing to go through. When Ben and Lauren said goodbye, they were
able to share some sweet kisses.
Joelle is
the next one to meet the Higgins. She
arrives with a small bunch of flowers in a conch shell and heads inside to meet
the parents. She readily admits to both
Dave and Amy about being in love with Ben.
Joelle takes David aside first for some alone time and she too says that
she’s ready for a proposal. Of course
Joelle is nervous to talk to Amy as any of us Daughter in Laws know, you really
want to make the mom’s know how you feel....at least I did and continue to
do. Back to Joelle. They head outside to chat where Joelle is
really wanting Amy to know that she’s going to stand by Ben no matter what.
After Joelle
left, Ben went back in to talk to his parents to find out their feelings. David says how wonderful Lauren is and
polished. Meanwhile with Joelle, she
tackled the questions/doubts almost before David did. Wen all was said and done though, there
wasn’t much clarity for him from neither of his parents.
The first
one to get a last date with Ben was Lauren.
Ben’s on a catamaran waiting for Lauren to arrive. When they are on the boat, there isn’t much
conversation and things seem tense. IMO,
it has everything to do with where Ben’s troubled mind/heart is at. The catamaran parks on the beach and the two
head off to spend some time on the shore.
Bottom line for the two of them, when things seem too perfect, Ben gets
nervous as he tells her and you can tell that he is just so OVER this whole
process already. In Ben’s ITM’s, you can
literally tell how stressed the poor guy is.
For the night portion of their date, they stayed in at Lauren’s suite. Once again, Ben is so stressed and seems
literally so over this. By the end of
the night though, you can tell that poor Lauren was really getting stressed
because of the situation.
Next up is
Joelle’s last date with Ben. Joelle is
waiting for Ben who arrives in a jeep and the two of them take off to a local
waterfall. It is called the Blue
Bowl. The two of them share some kisses
and fun before sitting down for some serious talks. Ben admits to Joelle that he doesn’t know who
he is going to propose to yet. This of
course sets Joelle off and we get to hear it in an ITM. I do feel bad for both of these F2 as they
were told by Ben that he loves them.
What they don’t literally know about though is that he said it to BOTH
of them. For the night portion of the
date, Ben arrives at Joelle’s suite and right away, they get into some serious
chats as Joelle really needs to know where they stand 100%. When she’s not really getting what she wants,
she takes him into the bathroom to have a chat without the camera crew. She’s whispering(forgetting that she still
has a mike on) and she finally gets from him that he told Lauren that he loves
her too. We get more ITM’s from Joelle
that since she finds it so special to be told that he loves her, then to find
out that he also told Lauren the same thing....sent her in a tailspin. Before leaving, they share some more kisses
and another love you.
The next day
Ben gets a visit from you know who.....Neil Lang and his box of treasures. When Neil asks him though to describe more
about his “chosen one”, Ben just can’t come up with anything on one hand, but on
another, we get a “re-wind” of his feelings of both women. Finally he chooses the ring he wants and we
get more ITM’s from him as he gets ready to say goodbye to one and propose to
the other.
Joelle is
the first to arrive in the heli and is unfortunately summarily rejected cause
Ben finds himself more “in love” with another.
Poor Ben, he’s not smiling at all...in fact he looks like he needs to
hit the outhouse by the creek. After all
the ITM’s are done and Joelle is taken away in the limo, we get more ITM’s from
Ben and how he loves Lauren to the point that it’s a love that he can’t lose
and that’s why Jojo had to go.
Afterwards,
he gets on the phone and has a chat with Lauren’s dad. He tells him that he loves her and wants to
know if he could have his daughters hand in marriage. After getting not only the father’s approval
but the whole family’s approval as well, some fist pumping in the air.
Lauren
arrives by heli and after being escorted to the walkway towards Ben, she meets
up with him and gets a good long hug before being able to tell him all she
feels, Ben too gets a chance to talk. Of
course if I were to try to re-iterate his speech to Lauren, I’d butcher it all
to heck but to be honest, it was a great one and she readily says yes to the
proposal.
On the ATFR,
once again in front of both families, Ben proposes to Lauren again. BTW, it was a total surprise that Lauren’s
family was there.
Also on the
ATFR, the newest Bachelorette was announced.
JOELLE! One thing about her
season(not that she’d ever read my blog but got to say it anyhow), she needs to
keep in mind all the ITM’s about being blindsided so she doesn’t blindside her
F2.
Stay tuned
to Aftertherose Blogspot as we will bring more vids and a photo diary of Ben
and Lauren’s over the next week. Until
then, thanks to you all for reading my blogs and hope you all stay tuned.
We will be
making changes to blogspot as we get ready for the new season of The
Bachelorette as well as Bachelorette Canada which will also begin filming
soon. We hope to make up some categories
for all of Bachelorette as well as Bachelorette Canada and will keep you all
informed when things happen.
Again,
thanks to all and hope to see you on the blogspot soon!!
The Case of The “I
Love You’s” in Jamaica
Oh brother,
I don’t even really know where to begin with this one. I think there was a reason for the un-written
rule of the lead not saying I love you to the ette’s/bach’s till the FRC, cause
tonight, my head was spinning with all the pre-FRC confessions.
All three
were in Jamaica with Ben for their fantasy dates. After a brief rundown by Ben on his
relationship with all 3 of the women, we kicked things off with Caila. Ben meets up with Caila before going on a
rafting trip on the Martha Brae River.
This date is so sketchy and iffy.
There are crickets in the background I swear as there is so little
talking. It was painful to watch. So many times over, I felt that Caila was
rehearsing for the Bachelorette gig.
(IMO, it just felt really fake.
Yep, I am throwing shade at her and don’t mean to as I am sure that in
real life, she’s an awesome girl, but sorry, it seemed fake in what she was
saying and how she was acting as it seems all she really wants out of this is
to be the next lead). Along the way,
they stopped off for some Jerk Chicken at Little David’s Jerk Centre and some
conversation. Caila says that she’s more
in her head vs being in the situation, but is that really it or could she not
really be feeling Ben?
For the
night portion of the date, they went down to the beach for dinner at the
Sandal’s Royal Plantation Resort. They
sat down for a chat. Caila admits that
she loves Ben and to his credit, he doesn’t say a thing. Meanwhile though, I just don’t think that
he’s really feeling it with her.
Afterwards, he produces the “fantasy suite card” to which Caila readily
agrees to go. Just then, they head into
the ocean to enjoy the fireworks show before heading to the suite. Guess I haven’t kept up with the current
bathing suit styles, but IMO, Caila’s was more like lingerie than a bathing
suit, holy smokes. LOL. The next morning, they were in the suite
sharing breakfast. This is reminiscent
of last season when Kaitlyn was the bachelorette. Ben left the suite and Caila stayed behind.
The next
date is with Lauren. They meet up at the
resort before taking a skiff to a local beach called Gibralter. It is here that Lauren finds out that they
will be releasing a newly hatched batch of Hawkes Bill baby turtles. Lauren is totally in heaven as this is
something that has been on her bucket list.
After washing the turtles and counting them, they said a quick prayer
before tipping the bucket over and watching the little “bugs” scamper to the
ocean. Afterwards, they sat down on the
blanket for a chat. They talked about
her HTD and how while he was talking with her sister, he broke down and
cried. Before they left the beach, they
went in for a swim and you could see a double rainbow in the background.
For the
night portion of their date, they went to Miss T’s Kitchen where they find a
reggae band playing. After dancing and
listening to the music for a bit, they went to a table in a quiet corner where
they had a chance to sit and talk for a while.
They had a chance to get into some serious conversation in before Ben
brought out the Fantasy Suite card to which Lauren readily agreed. Sitting on the couch, Lauren finally plucks
up the courage to tell Ben that she’s known for a while now that she loves
him. Then to totally throw her for a
loop(here comes one of the I love you’s), he too admits that he’s known for a
while now that he loves her as well.
The next
morning, we see Ben and Lauren in the room with a happy Ben bringing in a
breakfast tray saying Honey, I made Breakfast.....now doesn’t that sound a
little like real life?? After they had
breakfast and shared some more kisses of course, Lauren walked Ben out and each
of them had some parting ITM’s that really to me made it seem like game
over.
The last
date went to Jojo. They met up on the
resort grounds where he surprises her with a heli ride. They land at the YS Falls in Negril Jamaica
where after a short walk, she finally see’s where they are going to be spending
the day. Walking up to the platform,
they take off their street clothes, stand on the platform and this is when Jojo
realizes that they are actually going to jump off into the falls. After a mini-meltdown, they jump in. Sharing some kisses on the rocks, they
finally get a chance to have a serious talk.
This is where Jojo tells him that she loves him and get ready for
it.....he tells her that he loves her as well.
Yep, two girls are told I love you by Ben. YIKES!
For the
night portion of their date they have a dinner set up near water and are able
to have some more serious chats. The
topic turns to Jojo’s HTD and what happened with his time with her
brothers. As Ben states in an ITM, the
biggest problem for him is that he wants the support of Jojo’s family in order
for this to work. When they finally had
a chance to talk it out, Ben stated in an ITM of how he felt better about
things and can see that the family could/will support them. This prompts Ben to produce the Fantasy Suite
card to which Jojo readily agrees with.
After taking a tour of their suite, they went out to the pool where they
enjoyed some champagne before retiring for the night.
The next
morning, they share coffee and fruit breakfast before Ben leaves her in the
suite and heads back to his digs.
Sitting
outside, he re-hashes out the last few days and his feelings for Lauren and
Jojo, yet for Caila, he really can’t say that he loves her and can’t get there
with her. Meanwhile, little known to
him, Caila is on her way to him to remind him that she’s still there....yep,
this isn’t going to end well for her.
The look that he gives her after she surprises him says it all. It really wasn’t the surprise that he was
hoping for as now things are being pushed up and now he’s faced with saying
goodbye to her now. Even though it took
some time and she was able to ask a few more questions than many in past
seasons, you can tell that it was still hard for her. My feelings on this is that this may of been
another audition moment for the next bachelorette as well. Again, that’s just me. I will say though, Caila, you are only 23 and
you have a lot of time yet to find your forever....just take your time to find
out who you are first before jumping back in again. Just a little bit of advice from an old
windbag like myself....yea, I can say that about myself. LOL.
The other
two women showed up for the rose ceremony beginning with Jojo and you can tell
that the whole situation is getting a whole lot more tense for both of the
women as they wait for Ben to show up. He
informs the women that Caila has already been sent home and then hands out the
roses to Jojo and then Lauren.
Well, that’s
all for this week. Next week is the
women’s tell all. It will be interesting to see what gets
revealed and if there is anything much, I will be back for another blog. If not, then 2 weeks from tonight will be the
finale and I will be back for the season finale blog and the ATFR info as well.

Episode 7: Warsaw
Tonight’s
episode began with Ben talking about how glad that they are coming to his
hometown of Warsaw. He gets a chance to
let the women see more about who he is.
After taking a short drive through town, Ben makes a stop at a local
cafe where he meets up with his parents and gives them a short rundown as to
where he is now with the women, etc.
After
leaving them, we see the women goofing off with the fall leaves before meeting
up with Ben at a warf on the lake. After
a brief pontoon ride, they head to a local cottage which will be their
“homebase” for the week. The first date
goes to Lauren. She is given 30 min to
get ready before their date. When Ben
announces that it is Lauren for the first date, you can see how deflated the
other women are.
Hmmm, the
ITM’s this week...are they telling a story to come? Regarding how clear Ben’s feelings are
towards Lauren...could she be the F1, or will a blindside be coming??
Picking her
up in his truck, they take a drive through the town to his schools, church, and
finally ending up at the Baker’s Youth Club where they head inside to a throng
of kids playing BB. Instantly Lauren got
in on the mix be it jumping rope, throwing hoops, etc. Then the coach challenged Ronny to make a
half court dunker. Of course he made it
and the kids gathered for the “kiss”, in order a quick peck to get them to stop
chanting. Afterwards, Ben brought out
some guys from the Indiana Pacers; Paul George, George Hill and one of the
mascots. They all started playing and
having a great time till Ben noticed the little kid sitting off to the
side....Eric took to Ben and before long, the tears are gone and everyone is
having fun. Off to the sidelines, Ben
and Lauren finally get in some good kisses as the rest of the crew are
playing. In an ITM, we hear how Lauren
is really glad that they did that as now she see’s who Ben really is and seems
really happy for it.
Back at the
“house”, the next date card arrives. Jo
Jo....Let’s find love in the Windy City....Ben.
Of course this sets the other women off in ITM’s as they are getting
discouraged.
From there,
they head out for some alone time and a good chat about what happened last week
and where they stand now. Ben admits
that after the day they had, he does trust her now and they were able to share
some cuddles and kisses before they headed off to Rex’s Rendevous(his local
bar). They had some time with his
friends and in an ITM at the end, Lauren says that she knows she’s not in love
with Ben the Bachelor, but can say in full confidence that she’s in love with
the real Ben.
Up next, Jo
Jo heads to meet up with Ben in Chicago.
Walking down the street, Ben has a chance to share some of his memories
of the area with her. Stopping outside
Wrigley Field, the billboard invited the “lovebirds” inside. They had a chance to hit a few balls, soak up
the atmosphere and have some fun together.
Back at the
house though, the women are talking about how tough things are getting and how
emotional they all are now.
In Wriggly
field, they are laying down on the grass there and having a really good chat
about where they stand now. They head up
to the scoreboard where it still is one of the old style ones where the numbers
and letters are put up through mini boards in the holes. The last we see of them there is poking their
heads out the holes and giving each other a kiss.
The next
date card arrives and Lauren reads it out.
Caila, Amanda, and Becca are all on the group date the next day and when
Emily realizes that she gets the last individual date, she is overcome.
When we
re-join Ben and Jo Jo at Wriggly, the wind has picked up and they are having a
dinner together at center field. During
their chat though, Ben gets real with Jo Jo and tells her where things are at
as far as he is concerned. He feels that
she’s holding back and what he needs from her now is that she’s got to open up
and not hold back in order for them to have a chance. In an ITM, JO JO admits that she needs to
feel safe in order for her to drop her guard.
Until then, she’s worried that she can’t/won’t be able to give
completely. At the end of the chat, she
admitted that she is more “team Ben” than ever before and in an ITM, she says
that she is really falling for the guy and is ready to let loose and let the
chips fall where they may.
Up next, the
girls arrive in a limo to meet up with Ben.
They then head out onto the pond and paddle across it to a barn on the
other side that has been decked out...déjà vu much eh Becca? Becca and Amanda were in the boat all alone,
and Caila and Ben were in a boat together.
They flew kites before entering the bar and sitting/chatting
together. Ben informs the women that
this date will be in two parts; he will spend time with each of them and
whoever he gives the rose to, they will continue with the date while the others
will head back to the house. Ben took
the women out individually for a chat starting with Amanda. With Amanda and Ben, they talked about her
introducing him to her kids. With Becca,
it is her feelings for Ben and how they are different than the last time she
was here. She mentions how she hasn’t
had much validation in the relationship compared to the other women and her
insecurities are coming to the forefront.
With Caila, the question is whether she could stay in one spot long
enough and commit to it. Call me silly,
but for the last few weeks and tonight it didn’t change, it seems like Caila is
auditioning more for the next Bachelorette role than giving her heart to
Ben. When they were finished with all
the chats, Ben hands out the rose to Amanda.
Ben and Amanda leaves the women at the barn as they head off in the limo
for the next portion of their date.
Arriving
back at the house, the women tell Lauren and Jo Jo what happened and then Becca
finally through frustration, etc, has her moment.
Ben states
that part of being home is all about doing real things that he used to or has
always done. Ben and Amanda head into
the local “McDonalds”. They jump in
behind the counter to do the drive thru before heading out to sit down and eat
their Egg McMuffins for dinner and having a chat. When they were done there, they headed down
the streets of Warsaw and turned the corner to find a carnival there waiting
for them. They play games there, then
head onto some rides. Ben says that if
he screams don’t be weirded out by it....Of course the first thing he does is
scream at the top of his lungs. They
then take some easier rides on the carousel before Ben takes part in some game
amongst about 8 kids who promptly beat the crap out of him with their air
pillow batons. This was all done before
Ben and Amanda took a ride on the Ferris Wheel where they were able to share
some “private” time and a few kisses.
The next day, Ben arrives to take Emily out on the
water in the pontoon boat and a chat before they head to his parent’s
place. He shows her around a bit.
Back at the house though, the women are talking about
what Ben and Emily could be doing on this date and Caila pipes up with how she
thinks that Emily needs to grow up a bit as she seems like a wide eyed puppy
who’s not ready for this yet. Again, I
got the Bachelorette audition vibe….sorry, thanks but no thanks. IMO, Caila may not be ready for it either.
Arriving there, she was able to have a chat with both
parents. Don’t get me wrong, I have
liked Emily all season, but for the first time, I actually saw a different side
of her. I really wonder though, could it
all be nerves?? First one to spend alone
time with Emily was Ben’s mom, Amy. The
whole time that Emily talked, you can see Amy trying to keep up…. Next for some alone time was Ben’s dad,
David. Once again, it seemed like Emily
rambled on and to me, that’s nerves for sure….at least it is with me. When Amy sat down with Ben though, I give
props to Amy for being realistic and diplomatic at the same time….not easy to
do that. When Ben and Emily left, they
head back down the lake on the pontoon boat back to the “house” where they take
a seat on the dock. It’s at this point
where the other women can see them chatting and Ben lets Emily go, stating that
he didn’t know for sure if they both are in the same spot in their lives right
now. Ben is being as honest as he can
with her, I give props for that.
Heading inside, Emily says her goodbyes to the other
women before leaving the show.
The next we see, the women are lining up for the rose
ceremony. Besides Amanda, Ben hands out
roses to Lauren, Jo Jo and Caila.
The next stop for them all is their hometown
dates. Well, that’s all for this
week. There is a poll up on twitter if
you want to check it out. The charts and
preview video for next week are below.
Have a great week everyone and will be back live tweeting next week.
Episode 6: Storming
in The Bahamas
Well,
tonight’s continuation of last week really didn’t resolve anything other than
Olivia feeling more empowered and the other women feeling ignored. When the rose ceremony was over and besides
Amanda, Olivia, and Lauren H who already had roses; Caila, Lauren B, Joele,
Becca, Leah and Emily received roses as well.
Ben then informed the women that they’d be heading to the tropical
beaches of the Bahamas for the next leg in their journey.
After the
women arrived at the Grand Isle Great Exuma Resort and had a chance to check
out their latest digs, Chris arrives to tell the women that there will be an
individual date, a group and a two on one date as well. Judging by all the women’s reactions, they
all know what it means. I know we see it
every season, but this is the episode where Leah of all people go off the
rails. When I make comments folks, I am
only commenting on the edited show we see and not what a person may be/or not
in real life....just want to put that disclosure out there.
Ben and
Caila head off on their date deep sea fishing.
While they are doing their thing, we are constantly getting a monologue
from Leah of how she feels that she’s been ignored, hasn’t had time with Ben,
you know....the usual.
When Caila
and Ben head back to dry land for dinner, Ben tries to get her to open up. Somehow this whole conversation seems
weird. Either it is a major splice and
dice or there really is something off with their relationship. Time will tell.
Back at the
room with the other women, the group date card arrives. Lauren B, Becca, Amanda, Joelle, Lauren H and
Leah....Love is unpredictable. We hear
from Emily and how insecure she is and from Olivia saying that she’s feeling
robbed that she has to go on a date with a child....like she is going to be
babysitting her daughter. Yikes!!
Back with
Caila and Ben, Caila seemed to find the right words finally to express her
feelings and when she was finished, Ben gave her the rose.
This date is
where Leah goes off the rails. Again,
sorry, but this seems to of come out of nowhere and totally took me by
surprise. The women met up with Ben on
the warf where he informs them that they will be taking a boat ride out and
spending some time in the water....traveling out to the private island, the
women find out that there is a pig......scratch that, several pigs coming out
to meet them. The women are told that
they will be feeding chicken hotdogs to the pigs and to put their hands up
across the chest when they are done.
Well that worked......not. All
the women are being attacked by these pigs.
It was a free for all with them.
Meanwhile,
back at the hotel, Emily talks to Haley on the phone, letting her know where
they are and what’s happening with them having a 2 on 1 with Olivia.
Back at the
group date, Ben is giving Lauren more attention and spending time with her
which of course puts the other women on the defensive and the whole feeling of
the date changes. Ben senses this with
the other women, but a little too late.
When Ben and Joelle have a chance to chat, he finally gets that things
are getting really hard for the women as well when it comes to group
dates. When they meet up for the evening
portion, things really get weird. The conversations
with Becca and Amanda was really good.
At the end of both of their times together, Ben and the women shared
some kisses.
Back at the
hotel, the date card arrived and Caila read it out. Emily and Olivia, let’s see what the Bahamas
have in store for us.
BUT, when it
comes to Leah, she begins to badtalk Lauren B to Ben, stating that she’s
different with the other women than she is with Ben. Of course, when he confronts Lauren on it, it
immediately breaks her down when she re-joins the other women. When Leah joins the group, Becca states what
happened and Leah tries to tell the women that she’d never do something like
that....HELLO....weren’t you just the woman who did it?? When Ben comes back to the group, he hands
out the rose to Amanda. Immediately Leah says that she’s glad that at least
Lauren B didn’t get the rose. As Lauren,
Emily and Amanda are talking, we see Leah getting ready to head out and talk to
Ben. When Leah arrives at Ben’s, she
continues her bad talk of Lauren B. You
can tell in the beginning that he’s listening, but as time goes on, he’s
getting frustrated that all Leah wants to talk about is Lauren B and not their
connection. At the end of their chat, he
sends her home. Shocker though....how
could she of thought this would of gone any other way??
The next day
is the 2 on 1. Olivia is gleeful that
she has an “individual date” today where as Emily is being really realistic of
it all. When they meet up with Ben, he
tells them that they will be taking a boat ride to a secluded area for them. Producers, somehow, I really don’t think we
needed the stormy weather to set the mood as this 2 on 1 is always a turmoil
type of a date....
Olivia is
the first one that Ben takes aside for some alone time. When she says that she’s in love with him,
you can see that there was no real emotion on his face other than IMO, he came
to the realization that it means absolutely nothing to him. When Ben takes Emily aside, she’s trying to
tell him in a whirlwind of yatter what she wants, hopes to find, etc....all the
while, her hair is going wild. She
finally gives up trying to straighten it out and that’s when Ben takes
over. There, IMO, they finally connected
in that moment. When it came time to
hand out the rose, Ben takes Olivia aside with the rose in hand....immediately
Emily realizes, or at least she thinks she does that she’s heading home. After a short chat between Ben and Olivia
where she is told goodbye, Ben turns back to Emily, still with rose in hand and
she then realizes that she’s staying.
When Ben asks her, she is over come with joy and just like a romance
novel, head off down the beach to meet up with the boat and return to the
resort. Literally leaving Olivia
standing on the rocks...a metaphor for their ending of the relationship? Am I after all these seasons watching this
show finally turning into a major cynic....I hope not. LOL
As the women
arrive for the cocktail party, it is Harrison that shows up instead of Ben
informing the women that they are going straight to the rose ceremony
instead. After they line up and get
ready, Ben finally makes an appearance and besides Caila, Amanda and Emily,
hands out roses to Becca, Joelle and finally Lauren B.
The next
stop on their journey will be to Ben’s hometown of Warsaw, Indianna.
From now on
out, I will be posting a pole at the end of the blogs as to who everyone wants
as the next Bachelorette.....Provided of course that Ben and that lady don’t
end up together at the end of this journey(yep, that fabulous word). That’s all for this week and hope that everyone
enjoyed this blog tonight.

Episode 5: Mexico City Flying High
This weeks
dates started off with the women arriving at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mexico
City.
After
checking out their accommodations, they found the next date card which belongs
to Amanda. She will get the first
individual date this week. After Ben
wakes all the women up, he finds Amanda and they head off for a hot air balloon
ride over the landscape surrounding Mexico City, including jungles and temples
surrounding it.
After the
balloon ride, they sat for a picnic before heading back to the city where they
went out for dinner. During their date,
they were able to have some serious conversations with regards to Amanda’s
dating/marriage history and what she hopes to find in all of this.
The next day
was the group date. Or was it the Olivia
show...you be the judge. After the women
met up with Ben, he took them into a classroom where they began their Spanish
lessons before he took them to a local restaurant where the second part of
their date happened. The women broke off
into pairs which left one of the women teaming up with Ben....think you only
need one guess as to who that was.
Anyhow, the women were given ingredients lists and recipes of which
they’d have to make. Oddly enough, the team
of Olivia and Ben’s dish didn’t rate very high at all with the two
judges(chefs) of the restaurant. Where
as the team of Lauren B and Jubilee won high praise and the judges said that
the recipe would go onto the menu at the restaurant. For the night time portion of the date, the
group had an after party where it was obvious that the day itself was playing
on Jubilee and her doubts about her feelings towards Ben and his for her. This came about when Ben continued to take
the women out for alone time. By the end
of the night when Ben took Jubilee aside for a chat, both of them were resigned
so to speak that there just isn’t enough there for them to continue on. The night ended with Ben giving Olivia the
rose.....yep, SHOCKER!
The last
individual date of the week was to Lauren H.
Ben took her to the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week fashion show that was
happening in the city while they were there.
During the date, they learned that they’d be able to partake in the
catwalk that night so training ensued. When
the fashion show was over, Lauren and Ben went out for dinner. They were able to get into some serious
conversations and when the night was over, Ben gave her the rose.
During the
cocktail party, Ben had taken most of the women aside for another chat and the
theme of the night is the wool that Olivia is pulling over his eyes. Heck, as a viewer, I very often forget that
the lead isn’t privy to all the drama and behind the scenes crap that goes down
with the others there. Even though as a
viewer, somehow you can’t help but wonder WHY the lead can’t figure it
out. LOL. At the end of the night, we get a “to be
continued”. One can hope it is a one
time only thing and not a season long one as it was for season 19.
Below you
can find the charts, cheatsheets and preview video for next week. Hope you all enjoyed the blog and will be
back to live tweet the show followed by another installment of Coastal’s Blogs
next week. Have a great one you all!!
Vegas Bound
Once again,
we haven’t fixed the glitches on Rose so we are bringing the blog to you via
the blogspot site. Hope you all can get
this and get your charts off of
here....but here goes.
Harrison
arrived at the manor and told the women that Ben has already left LA and is
waiting for them in Vegas. After
catching their private flight, they were walking through the streets of Vegas
to their hotel the Aria. On the way,
naturally there was a welcome to Vegas sign for the women from Ben.
The first
date card is waiting for the women and it was for Joelle. You set my heart on fire...Ben. Joelle looks so enthralled that she got the
date, meanwhile, getting a glimpse at Olivia’s, not so much. Then in her ITM, she really is far from
impressed, although she is saying that she knows he has to date others...yea,
not buying it.
When Ben
arrives to pick up Joelle for their date, they head downstairs to a parkade
area where they sip on their champagne.
Next thing we know, a heli is landing, their table, champagne flutes and
bucket go flying and the two of them take cover behind the tipped over
table. Yep, all in a day’s work. Little do Ben and Joelle know though, the
women are upstairs witnessing all of it including the lip lock that
ensues.
The next
date card arrives: Amanda, Jubilee, Caila, Lauren B, Amber, Haley, Emily, Leah,
Lauren H, Jennifer, Rachel and Olivia; Show me what you got.
We never did
see the daytime portion of their date, but for the evening portion, they head
to the Skylofts where they sit down for a chat.
After giving her the rose, they head outside where they are treated to a
fireworks show.
The next
day, the group arrive and find Ben waiting for them outside the Terry Fator
theatre. Entering, the women see a
glimpse of what they could be in for.
When Terry tells the women what they are going to be in for, it’s
obvious some are gonna dread the date.
We see Lauren H getting on her chicken suit, Haley and Emily practicing
their “riverdance tap” act, Jubilee playing the Cello, and Olivia in a feather
boa type costume....wonder what’s going through her mind with that one. When the women finally have a chance to
practice, Terry then informs them that they will be the opener to his act that
night. Cue the collapsing women.... First on stage was Emily/Haley combo with
their tapdancing to the river dance, next up was Jubilee and her cello, Lauren
B and her juggling balls, Leah and her hula hoop, Caila and her Hawaiian dance,
Rachel and her balloon gig, Lauren H in her chicken suit and a poem, then comes
out a birthday cake, and out pops Olivia in her skimpy costume....not much left
to the imagination there. As she’s doing
her leg kicks and prancing about the stage, you can see the embarrassment all
over Ben’s face. After the show, they
head backstage where Olivia claims that she’s having a panic attack, all the
while still dressed in her costume.
Personally, I think she was embarrassed and it finally hit her what she
just did. When they were all done, they
headed down to the pool area for the after party. The first to get alone time with Ben is Caila
who wastes very little time in getting the lip lock on. Next was Lauren H. who was successful in
getting a kiss before the end of their quality time together, then Olivia gets
her chance to take Ben aside for a chat.
During their time, there was no kiss, no good feelings in it for Olivia
in the end. Next for alone time was
Lauren B. She and Ben connected right
where they left off the last time they were alone with a lip lock of their own. After a good and real chat, we get into
another rant of Olivia’s where she feels that she needs to speak to Ben once
more. This is getting silly how she’s
always interrupting others. When the
dust settled though, it was Lauren B that got the group date rose.
The next
day, Becca is the lucky one to get her individual date. A package was delivered to her in the form of
a wedding dress, after getting dressed, she was taken in a pink Cadilac to meet
up with Ben at the Little Chapel in Vegas; a famous wedding chapel that has
been around for many years. Upon
entering though, Ben is standing there and gets down on his knee to propose to
Becca...you can see that she is like a deer in headlights at this time. She finds out that Ben is ordained and they are
marrying others today. After Becca gets
out of her dress and into something more appropriate, the first couple arrives
that they are marrying together. By the
time they were done, five couples tied the knot. After which, Ben and Becca headed out to the
Neon Museum where all the old neon signs in Vegas go to get re-furbished and
used again. After some serious
conversation over some drinks(and some lip-locking besides), Ben gave Becca a
rose.
The next
day, Chris arrives at the room and informs Emily and Haley that they will be
spending some time with them before reaching a decision. Ben took both Haley and Emily back home to
their mom’s place where he had a chance to spend more time with both of them
and their mom who was able to answer some important questions for Ben. In the end though, it was Emily that he chose
to continue with and Haley was left behind.
As the women
were getting ready for the rose ceremony, they were talking about how hard the day must
of been for both of the women and Ben.
The women made their way down to the Liquid Pool Lounge where they were
to have the rose ceremony that night. At
the party, the first one to get alone time with Ben was Jennifer. For the first time in a long time, someone
other than Olivia was first.....mind you, it really didn’t last long cause
Olivia interrupted them shortly after.
Olivia managed to distract Ben and take him to a private room where she
brought out a piece of cake. In the end
though, they didn’t kiss and we got an ITM from Olivia stating that their
connection is back....whatever in the world that means. The procession of women followed beginning
with Caila who had some more alone time, then Becca, Amanda, and Jubilee before
Harrison interrupted the group saying that it was rose ceremony time. Besides Joelle, Lauren B and Becca who
previously got roses, roses were also handed out to: Amanda, Lauren H, Jubilee,
Emily, Caila, Jennifer, Leah and Olivia.
Hope you all
enjoyed the blog tonight. The Charts are
below and the preview video for epi 5 will be posted shortly. Take care all and we’ll see you next week.
Coastal Blogs Episode 3 of The Bachelor
First off, some sad news. For a reason that is beyond our control, our website is down for the night. It happened on the weekend and as of tonight, still isn't solved. Sorry for any inconvenience but as you can see, not much stops us here at the rose and we are doing the blog on our blogspot tonight instead. We hope that we can get things straightened out this week.Well, tonight started off with the crew still in LA. Chris arrived at the mansion to tell the women that there will be three dates including one group one and two individual ones. Harrison drops the card on the table and vanishes as the card is read out and Lauren gets the first individual date of the week. According to the ITM from Ben, Lauren B has been one that has stood out to him from the moment she stepped out of the limo but is still a mystery to him. After he picks her up at the mansion in a mustang convertible they head to the airport where they board a bi-plane. Throughout the trip, they continue to kiss and as they take a fly-by the mansion, the other women there are getting a great glimpse of a part of their date. Landing in a nearby field, they take a walk up to an area where there is a hot tub waiting for them....seriously, jacuzzi's working and everything. Getting into the tub, they begin their kissing again....kinda like they can't keep their hands off one another.
Back at the mansion, Caila is already having a week 3 meltdown. Holy smokes, but how is this girl gonna make it to the end.
Coming back to Ben, he and Lauren are out of the hottub and are walking to their dinner portion of their date at the Camarillo Ranch House where they sit down for some more serious chats.
Back at the mansion, the group date card arrives and it's for Amanda, Haley, Jennifer, Shushanna, Leah, Amber, Lauren H, Olivia, Jami, Rachel, Lace and Emily; Love is the Goal.
Back with Ben and Lauren, Ben has a chance to share something really important to him about his dad. Through the conversation, Lauren was awesome about it and was letting him to share. When it came time to ask, he said for her to accept MY rose. Outside, they went to the barn where Lucy Angel band was playing. They shared some more kisses during a slow dance and in an ITM, Lauren says that 100% she could fall in love with Ben.
Next we are on the group date with Ben and the girls at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum where they are informed that their date will be them playing one another during a soccer match.
Back at the mansion, Jubilee is now having her mini meltdown as she's trying to figure out if there will be a date for her this week.
After practicing for a while, Harrison arrives to inform the women that the winning team will get alone time with Ben. The two teams will be the Stars and Stripes. Stars: Amanda, Emily, Jennifer, Lauren H, Rachel and Shushanna. Stripes: Amber, Haley, Jami, Lace, Leah and Olivia. At the end of "regulation time" both teams were tied at 3. "Beast Mode Emily" was definately the star of the game for team stars without a doubt. After the losing team heads back to the mansion, the winning team and Ben head to the InterContinental hotel for their after party. Of course, Olivia is the first to steal him away for some time. After taking him to one of the rooms, she hollers down to the women below so that they KNOW where she and Ben are. Hmmm, yea, this won't cause no drama tonight. Come ON!
Back at the mansion, the next date card arrives and when Lauren reads out Jubilee's name, immediately she jumps around and is so excited, which of course puts the others off that didn't get a date at all this week.
At the after party, a procession of women take Ben aside for some time. Finally Amber is alone with Ben. After a chat, they share some more kisses before re-joining the group. When it came time to hand out the rose though, you can look at the women and know those that feel the rose will be theirs, but alas it goes to Amber.
So, as Jubilee and the women wait for Ben to arrive, she seems really put out. Then when he does arrive, she was giving him a hard time for being late. When the heli arrives to pick them up, once again, she seemed a bit put out that she had to get to the next locale by heli as she's afraid of heights so asked the other women if one of them wanted to do the date. Come on, it's the name of the game. You get the dates you do and deal with it all. After a flight, they arrive at the Cal-a-Vie Health Spa and find waiting for them a platter of new foods to try including figs and Caviar. Afterwards, they went into the pool and shared some laughs. For the night portion of their date, they had dinner at the center. During dinner though, she opened up to him about her childhood and what happened to her family. In the end, Ben gives her the rose.
Tonight's cocktail party was full of drama as the "hang-over" regarding Jubilee, some things that she said and her date were the cause of most of it. In short, the women felt that she wasn't being serious about being there and got their noses out of joint over it. Also tonight, when Ben joined the group, he told them about his family friends being killed and what HE needed at that moment. The first one that took him aside of course was Olivia....but instead of talking about him and his feelings, she immediately goes into her thoughts and her hates about her...I think Ben summed it up best. He came into this a little down and wanted someone to comfort him. Enter Amanda....she was the first of the women that we were shown talking to him about his feelings before her selfish wants/needs. Before the Rose Ceremony, Lace took Ben aside to say that she was wanting to leave on her own. In the end, in addition to Lauren B, Amber and Jubilee, roses were handed out to: Lauren H, Amanda, Becca, Haley, Emily, Rachel, Caila, Joelle, Jennifer, Leah and Olivia.
Well, that's all for tonight. I am including the chart and cheatsheets below. When I get the preview video uploaded, I will include that as well. Hope you all have a great week and I will be back for another blog next week. I won't be live tweeting though, but will return the following one for that.
