WOW, that was unlike any other finale we have seen on Bachelor Canada. I digress though....going to take a step backwards here and try and walk you all through it as best as I can.
We start off back in Mexico. Chris's parents had a chance to meet both of the F2, and the last we saw, it seemed like Chris's mom Marian gave him some clarity on how to handle things going forward.
The first last chance date for Chris in Mexico is with Lyndsey. Lyndsey arrives at the date location to find out that they are going on a bike ride. It is a short ride and when they are done, they sit down on the beach where they are able to have a chance to chat. Lynds told Chris that she actually wrote a song for him. Strumming it through, you can see that it really affected him. When she was done, it's obvious that they are talking but we aren't privy to it. In the meantime though, we are getting an ITM from Chris saying that he doesn't know if she is the love of his life or the one to smash his heart. The two of them were talking about the logistics that has plagued them all season. Would she move to Ontario or not..... Then we get an ITM from Lynds saying that she's so confused now. Why now is he bringing this up and changing things again especially when she's been upfront all season. It's obvious that Lynds is crying with him but since we aren't privy to why, I guess anything can be said. To me though, I am wondering if this is when decisions are made that affects the finale. To tell you the truth, yea, for me, this is the only love story that had been told all season. The rest of the women have basically been fillers and Chris knew that.
Next up is Mikaela. We see Mik walking along the beach and thinking things through. She is having second doubts as to whether to take the risk or walk away as when she went to meet Chris's parents, she knew that he had just left Lyndsey that morning after their fantasy date. Mik meets up with Chris at the date location but when she enters, he knows somethings up as he asked her why she's so down. Mik is trying to confront Chris about his connection with Lynds and as she states that she's having trouble with the fact that he's doing things with other people and it makes it less special. I am sorry but come on....you don't know how this process works? Gimme a break. What strikes me through all of their chat....they are sitting far apart, virtually no affection shared between them, finally Chris gives her hand a quick kiss then drops it just as quick. Finally they shared a quick kiss but of course, once again it was initiated by Mikaela. Chris made a freuadiant slip by calling Mik Lyndsey when he was talking about his discussion with his mom.
WOW, with Chris's ITM, yea, he was thrown for a loop that Mik was trying to back pedal out of their relationship. He seriously thought that today would be smooth sailing for them once again and they'd talk about how they feel about one another and then done. As Chris states, he understands why she's upset but he can't do anything about it now.
Chris is sitting on the beach doing a reflective segment on his journey, as they all do at this stage, when he said a few things that I found interesting. He knew who to choose. He also found a piece of himself and this is what this was all about for him. Chris is ring shopping. He meets up with Greg Halliday of Michael Hill Jewlers when he begins to look at the rings. Chris is describing the person that he's going to choose, call me crazy but I think that he was describing Lyndsey. The next thing we see is Chris getting ready in his suite talking about the clarity that he has gotten, ready to finally commit to one person and he knows who it is and has been for a long time.
Next we see Mik getting ready and is in a nice white/black/silver bodice dress. She is saying that she is feeling more out of sorts and uneasy today than she was even with Chris the day before. A part of her wants to pack up and head home but she says that although she's mad at Chris, she still loves him so is going to stay. What I find so weird is most of the conversation she`s having with us is all about her....weird.
Next we see Lyndsey getting ready as she's in a seafoam light green dress that looks beautiful on her. She's talking about wanting to fall in love with Chris and he's the one she wants, but she also hoped that he would be more on board with moving to Vancouver and be happy there because she is.
It seems that both of the women have found clarity in what they want to do as well as what they are wanting to tell Chris.
Chris is standing at the podium, and the first person who shows up is Lyndsey. Seriously though, looking at Chris, I am wondering if he thought someone else was going to show up first. Lynds doesn't waste time as she gets right into what she wants. It's obvious that Lynds was given this platform to speak first and that she was breaking it off with him, likely by the producers. I really think that if it was up to Chris, Lynds was his final choice even if he was going to take the easy route and break up with her and choose Mikaela. Looking at Chris's face as Lynds walked up to the ceremony area, I thought that he was surprised in a way to see her.
Mikaela's turn. As she arrives, it is Chris that speaks first this time. As they are both talking, it's so painfully obvious that this isn't how the finale and what Chris was wanting. He says that he wants to try to make this happen outside of this. Mikaela then tells Chris that she loves him. Chris says that there is a ring in his pocket but is not wanting to get engaged till later. This vibe that I am getting from this is so blinking weird. No real affection till the obligitory kiss at the end. No real spark nor connection....wow, never seen a finale like that which is supposed to be between two people that love each other.....YIKES. Talk about feeling the NOT love. Yep, guess I am being bahumbug about it, but seriously.....these two are supposed to love on another.....got to act better than that for it to be believable.
AFTER THE ROSE SPECIAL
Lyndsey is up first. When she comes out on stage, she looks gorgeous.....looking like a knockout! As she says, she was so in love with him, so infatuated by him but as it got to the end, she was confused as she wasn't feeling that love back at her. As she says, she is so glad that she made the decision to walk away because when you are with someone, you want to feel it right to the core and since she wasn't, she knew that as much as she loved him, she had to get out. After she was there while they looked back on her journey, Noah asked her if looking back, would she do it again.....no flinches at all, she said absolutely. Is this the perfect segway to having Lyndsey as the next Bachelorette?? Noah then brings the topic up of her grandparents....of all things to melt her, this did it. It's rare to see a love like that. Finally, Chris is brought out. When they start off, Chris says that the viewers know the problems with geography, age, etc, but he also said that if she was closer in terms of geography, the rest would of worked. This alone tells me that she was his first choice. He was just afraid to fully commit to it and her with her living in Vancouver to be away from his family once again. Yea, Lynds did see that and as she puts it, it was a huge ask on her part. Chris interestingly enough says that he became a fan of Lyndsey from watching the show....WHAT? In the end, they both wished each other well and that was that. Again, through their time on the season I ABSOLUTELY believe that Lyndsey was Chris's first choice. It was the chat with his mom and the distance factor which became the stumbling blocks.
Next up, Chris is on the stage himself and he explained further how hard it was for him to tap into his own emotions and be able to finally say what's in his heart. Opening up was and is really hard for him. That is the most that he had learned this season and he's going to go back to find ways to make this happen for the future. Chris states that his best date was the baseball date because he was finally able to give back to the kids and by sharing that equipment, he knows the kids are going to get a lot of use out of it.
Next up is Mik. She joins Chris and Noah on stage. After the obligatory hug, there is virtually no contact between them at all. Yep, just like on the season. Never did see the connection between these two. After they sat down, they went back through their story and when they were done, the part came where Noah asked where their relationship stands now. It was Chris who immediately piped up saying that Mik is in his life but not in a romantic way. I am sorry, but I could see this coming a mile away. I think we saw again that there was virtually no contact between these two during the season other than that which was instigated by Mik. The finale was cold and I COMPLETELY got the impression that Chris was forced to take Mik and did it out of obligation versus him wanting her. I hear you all now, yep, he said that he loved her, he said that he chooses her, but to tell you the truth, there were so many times in the season where he said the same stuff to multiple women so right now, I find his words to be rather hollow. Now, before I get jumped on for that statement, I will say that yes, I found the guy to be real, insightful in some ways, and at least in the end, he realized that he couldn't be forced to fake it with Mik anylonger and broke it off as soon as he could. What's intersting though, tonight confirmed that Mikaela's family was never asked by Chris if it was ok to get engaged to her. That tells me a bunch as during the hometown dates, we all saw on our tv's that Chris stated that he loves Lyndsey and wants to ask Lyndsey's dad if it's ok to get engaged. Therefore, my train of thought says that it is Lyndsey that Chris was wanting all along.
In the end, Noah said to us, the audience that he hopes to see us again soon.....does this mean that there will be another season?? Will there be another Bachelorette season first??
Well, that's all for this time around. I will be back doing more blogs, charts and videos for Bachelor season 22 with Arie Lyundyke. Check back January 2 when the new blog and chart should be up. Take care and here's to wishing you and yours, a wonderful holiday season and all the best in the new year!
Night!!
First up for the fantasy date is Mikaela. They are on the pirate ship, the Jolly Rancher. As Mikaela says, there is still a "Lyndsey" in the mix so she needs to say all that she's thinking and feeling. Just as they are relaxing together, of course the cliche pirates come out on ship. After the pirates left, Mikaela starts "selling" herself to Chris. In an ITM, Chris states that he's confused, he wakes up in the morning and thinks that he should want to marry Mikaela, but something is really missing. He calls himself "cold feet Chris", what in the hell does that mean?? I have noticed that in this episode so far, Chris seems to be detaching himself to some degree from Mikaela. Mikaela does say to him that she's scared to be losing him. When they meet up for the night portion of the date, they are at the El Dorado Marama on the beach for the evening portion of their date. Mikaela states in an ITM that she wants to tell him that she needs him to know that she wants someone who is serious about this and wants her for her. As she approaches him on this, Chris says that he is falling but is also questioning everything. The way she says that he hasn't been asking the hard questions till now, I am wondering how deep they were able to get at all this season. Chris handed Mikaela the date card and wants to go to the fantasy suite to chat. As on cue, the mariachi band comes in and they start dancing. We see them walking on the boardwalk towards their fantasy suite where they have more champagne and Mikaela reads out a "love letter" to Chris. One thing in it, it was her that said Mikaela Leroux to him first, then after that, we have a voice over with Chris making fun of it.
Lyndsey's date is next. We see her walking around the resort, El Dorado Royalle, relecting on their HTD. She states that she's scared of losing Chris. Next we see Chris waiting for Lyndsey at the Mayan Clay Spa. In an ITM, he states that he's ready to see Lyndsey. He's always excited to see her. When Lyndsey does arrive, she comes running and we can hear Chris laughing in the background. He says that he knows they have some bumps, but he's also ready to work through them. They get changed and hop into the "bath" where they rub clay on each other. As Chris states, it is a really intimate date and he needs that. It's obvious that the two are enjoying their time at the spa as they soak in the mud pool and they are chatting about when Lyndsey can take Chris back home....he asks: Cowichan Bay, and she says yes. If memory serves, that is where her grandparents were and the time that they both thought was special was meeting her grandfather. Getting out, they have a shower and then walk over to the "cleansing" area. While they are showering and walking, we are getting ITM from Chris as to how things are different since they had the HTD, but he wants to be cleansed and start things over. The two of them enter the purification ceremony where they are cleansed and it is here where their mind, their heart are purified and it is here that they can start anew. Chris states in an ITM of how he wants to put his mind at ease and move forward with Lyndsey. In an ITM, it is Lyndsey that states she just wants to move forward with Chris.
When we come back, we see Mikaela walking on a beach reflecting. She is stating that it is Chris and Lyndsey's one on one and she is finding herself reflecting on their date. If Chris chooses Lyndsey and not her, she'll be devestated. If memory serves, we heard these things from Lyndsey episodes ago. The whole night I got the impression that Mikaela is so far behind the relationship that he's got with Lyndsey, bumps and all.
Back with Lyndsey and Chris, they are both changed and in dressy clothes. Sitting on a rattan loveseat of sorts, they are able to sit side by side and chat about their day. In an ITM, we hear Chris describe that for a while, they had a different vibe going but today they are back to where they were before the HTD and that they are ready to work through their problems. I think that Lyndsey stated it really well.....she admitted that things were tough, that her family wasnt' as open as they could of been. It made Chris open up more as well and he stated that the sisters really made him squirm a bit. Lyndsey explained then where her family was coming from. For the past relationship, she was with someone older than herself, and when that one failed, it was her family that helped her pick up the pieces. This time, once again, an older gentleman comes on the scene, and the family is going oh oh, here we go again. Lyndsey states to him then that they will come around espeially when things are finished here, that she will always have his back and will be right beside him the whole way. They then have a chance to chat about the living arrangements. Chris was the first to say that her dad already informed him that Lyndsey wouldn't move to Toronto, and tonight, Chris stated that he knows he will be the one to make the move if he did choose Lyndsey. In an ITM, we get from him that he'd be willing to make concessions for Lyndsey and in his mind, they could have the best life together, he just has to go for it. When they finish the hat, we get in an ITM from Chris that he feels the best that he's felt with her in a long time and he's so glad things had gone this way. Chris hands Lyndsey the fantasy suite card which Lyndsey reads out. Then he talks to her about what her sisters said during the HTD and he wanted to know how she felt. In an ITM, we get Lyndsey saying how much of a gentleman he is as he stated that he wanted to respect her family but wants to have this time with her as well. Of course Lyndsey took the suite and says so in an ITM as she's beaming. In an ITM from Chris, we hear him say that today he felt her love for him and it's just a confirmation of how far they had come. The two of them stayed at the El Dorado Marama as well, but they had a lot better suite I thought as the two of them were sitting on the bed with champagne in hand. The last we see as they fade out is them kissing
Next up is the meeting the family. Chris talks with his family first as he tells them what they have been doing and who each of the women are. First up is Mikaela. Chris heads out to meet with her and they exchange first kiss, then they head inside where she is introduced to his parents. What I find intersting is that all four of them are in casual attire and both Mikaela and Chris's mom's hair are up in a bun. Mikaela then sits down and the group begin chatting about how things have gone in general. Mikaela and Chris's mom head out for a chat first. Once again, I get the feeling that Mikaela was trying to sell herself to his mom, just as she did to Chris on their fantasy date. Chris's mom in an ITM, states how Mikaela isn't holding anything back which is good to the mom, but as I as a viewer, I have felt that Mikaela tries to sell herself, yet I don't get the vibes and feelings that there is something more there. After saying goodbye, Chris goes back in to chat with his parents. In an ITM though, we hear him say that everything is okay on paper with Mikaela but....
Next up is Lyndsey. WOW, there is still a half hour left in the show. When Chris sets the stage for Lyndsey, you can tell it's hitting the parents hard how she is from the west coast, is younger than Chris. We then get an ITM from Chris's mom of how she doesn't want him to be alone but she still thinks that Chris needs to find someone closer to his own age. Lyndsey arrives and Chris heads out to meet up with her. According to Chris's mom, Lyndsey is coming off as vibrant, full of life, spirited but the age gap is what's in the back of her mind. Chris's mom and Lyndsey head outside to continue their chat. Immediately I am getting the impression that the mom just isn't going to give it a go just beause of the age thing. I hope I am wrong. We get another ITM from his mom saying how she is worried about the age gap as she just doesn't see them developing at the same rate and it's something that needs to be thought through carefully. Meanwhile, the dad talks about the age gap and he's worried as to whether Chris can keep up with her. In an ITM, we hear Chris state how he knows that the age gap is there and there are other things involved but what the future that they could have outweighs all that as far as he's concerned. Back with the mom, it's obvious that the age card is what matters to her the most. Then the geographic region isn't helping things. With dad though, it is all the geographi region that matters to him. Age doesn't help but the geography is what matters. As Chris and his dad are sitting there talking, it is the dad that tells him to follow his heart even if it means making adjustments to his life. The mom and Lyndsey is still out chatting when we tune back in with them and she tells the mom that Lynds has fallen in love with Chris and wants this to be a team moving forward. In an ITM we hear the mom saying that if he comes back engaged, she will be very content as she knows he'll of chosen someone that will be a great partner in life.
Chris sits down with his mom next whom he asks who is the favorite....kudos to his mom for not falling for that and diplomatically states that each of them have qualities that she knows would work for him. She tried to get him to understand that because of him being with men all those years, he's had to be the tough guy. It's ok to fall, it's ok to reach out to your feelings, it's ok to change. In an ITM from Chris, we hear him saying that he doesn't want to be closed off anymore. Marian said "Don't be afraid to fall in love". Chris states in an ITM, he hopes that he's not scared to finally fall as he doesn't want to be alone anymore.
Thoughts for tonight.....
- What I as a viewer realized tonight is that Chris and Mikaela's relationship is a lot farther behind where Lyndsey and Chris are at.
- I really thought that the one that Chris was always on the verge of falling in love with is Lyndsey.
- IMO, the age thing won't be as big of a deal and having the chat that he did with his mom, gave him the "permission" he was denying himself about actually falling for her.
- I just don't see Mikaela's relationship with Chris as a better one that Lyndsey has.
Well, that's all for tonight. Check out the chart updates below. Next week is the Women Tell All. The finale is on Dec 20 with the After the Final Rose being seen right after. I probably won't be doing a blog next week unless we get some major finale tidbits that might be game changers. I will be back for the finale though.....Have a great week everyone and see you then!
Tonight's hometowns and we see Chris getting ready to leave Toronto to head to the girl's places starting with Mikaela.
Chris meets Mikaela at the riding stables that she use to go to growing up in Winnipeg. They sit down on some hay bales and get a chance to talk more about what the stables and horseback riding means to her. Through their chat, Chris learns that this place is what helped her gain the confidence in herself. Chris states in an ITM that he wonders if his feelings are strong enough for her to last a lifetime. Mikaela tells Chris that she has fallen in love with him, but call me crazy, Chris really wasn't super estatic on it. He actually gave a platitude smile and said that it's so good to hear, then a kiss right afterwards. I as a viewer really felt something was missing there. Another thing that I was missing here is that he wasn't all over her by any means. he had his arm sitting on the back of the bench for the most part but that's it. We do get him saying in an ITM that he's nervous to meet her parents.
Walking into the parents, all he's carrying is a bouquet of flowers. Immediately it was Mikaela's brother that was all over Chris, but after the first round of questions were gone, everything was easier after that. Next Chris was taken aside by Mikaela's dad and step-dad for a chat. Although the rapid fire questions happened, Chris stood his ground and in the end, I think he won them over. Mikaela and her mom were the next ones to have a chat. She told her mom that she has fallen in love with Chris and can't wait for this to end so she can be with him. For the goodbyes, the family went out to the driveway with them, they said their goodbyes there, then Mikaela and Chris said their goodbyes with a kiss.
Next up is Catie. It's POURING rain there as Chris walks up to the cafe to meet up with Catie. It is here that she tells him that she has fallen in love with him. Of how she has been journaling. It is these journals that she showed Chris. Chris does admit though in ITM's that he was hoping to see a calmer side of her now that they are at her hometowns. It was on their last date in Dominican Republic that Catie is more calm and grounded in Toronto so was wanting to bring him home to show him but he says that she's just the same. He's making it clear in ITM's that the dreamer side/ the way out there side of her really is off putting to him and he can't just jump in as it's just not him.
For their family time, they head to the family with a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine. When the family find out that his name is ACTUALLY Chris, as the mom says, it blew her mind as for the last 2 years they have heard nothing but Chris and how Catie is going to marry a Chris. So, I am thinking you all can guess the theme of their hometown now. Chris does have a chance to talk with Catie's dad and their chat seems to go really well. When Catie steps aside with her mom, they talk about their connection and the fact that Catie really feels that she and Chris are going to be together in the end. As with Mikaela, Chris said goodbye to her family in the driveway. Catie and Chris exchanged a few kisses before he left.
Next up is Lyndsey. They are in Duncan, Vancouver Island on her grandparents property. Chris meets her grandfather and he gets a rundown of the history of the property and family. Chris states in an ITM that Lyndsey's grandfather reminds him of his; full of life, full of stories and love. Next Chris and Lyndsey went for a picnic down by the apple tree that her grandmother died at. We get an ITM from Chris that it's obvious how emotional he is that he was brought to the one place in the world that meant that much to Lyndsey. We also talk about how he lost 3 of his four grandparents and he gets it.
In one of the hugs that he gave her, I swear I heard him say love you......does that mean love you as in endearment for what she's sharing or love you as in I love you.....guess time will tell. BUT what we did hear is her professing her love to him and him telling us in an ITM of how lucky he is to hear that from her as he knows he loves her.
Lyndsey and Chris head out to Lake Cowichan and meet up with Lyndsey's family. They got a warm welcome but it did turn tense when it came to talking about jobs, hobbies, etc. Can I just say that this whole family time is getting pretty akward. Chris and her dad were out on the lawn chatting and it's obvious that the dad just isn't feeling all that great about this and some words and looks....yikes. Lyndsey's time with her mom was tense in a way, but with the edit of this htd, how much of it was this serious compared to the edit to make it look this way??? Now Chris is having time with the sisters.
WOW, they aren't giving him any breaks at all. The sisters seemed very abrupt and actually bordering on obnoxious as they even had the gaull to ask him not to give her the fantasy suite card. Come on, this is a young woman who by all accounts has appeared as very mature so what in the heck is the problem. Lyndsey and Chris said their goodbyes in the driveway but we weren't shown them sharing a kiss.
For the rose ceremony, they are back in Toronto. The women arrive individually starting with Mikaela, Catie, then Lyndsey. After the customary speeches, Chris handed out roses to Mikaela and Lyndsey. After Chris walked Catie out, he came back and told the remaining two to Mexico.
MY THOUGHTS:
Mikaela's htd was fine. Just for me, there really is something missing there. Now as per normal in the bachelor edit grind, the easiest htd isn't usually the F1. Couple that with the fact that what in the world is Mikaela's storyline. What is there for Chris and her to overcome....NOTHING. With the Canadian franchise more than any others, the lead and the final 1 always have obstacles to overcome and a storyline to work through......Bachelor Canada had it with Tim and Bianka and whether she could go all in and trust Brad; Bachelor Canada season 2 with Tim and April, could she handle the process and go all in or will she leave; Bachelorette Canada season 1 - Jasmine and Kevin there was the problem of Kevin's jealousy and the hometown date with his mom.
With this season, so far it is only Lyndsey that has been presented with obstacles and a storyline. First it is the age card, now it is also the family and whether they can overcome that obstacle and whether Chris will be able to win them over.
Chris and the women are in Costa Rico for their first round of dates. The first individual date went to Lyndsey. They met up on an airfield near their villa and flew out over the countryside of Costa Rico and the neighboring volcano. It was during this flight that Lyndsey found out how nervous Chris was about flying. She called it cute and endearing. At the end of the flight, they got into a discussion about age and it is here where Chris found out that Lyndsey is only 23....10 years younger than himself. This made him noticably 'weirded' out and he even said that he didn't know how that would affect their relationship and getting to know one another. After their flight, they went to a private treehouse for drinks and more discussion. It is here that Lyndsey told Chris of some of her life experiences, being in NY, almost being engaged to be cheated on when she went home for a visit, etc....in turn, this did change Chris's mind for the moment and Lyndsey was awarded the rose and to finish off the night, the two did share a kiss.

Bachelor Canada Season 3 - FINALE
Night!!
The Bachelor Canada - Season 3 - Episode 9, Mexico Bound
Chris, Lyndsey and Mikaela find themselves in Cancun as they embark on the next part of their journey to find love. Chris is flying into Mexico and is telling us about each of the women. Chris was staying at the El Dorado Royalle. Chris loves Lyndsey's passion for life, is one in a million, and is the 'X-factor', but they do have some obstacles to overcome. With Mikaela, it's been easy, fun to be around and easy to talk to. BUT, he is questioning if they have the 'x-factor'.
Bachelor Canada Season Three - Episode 8 HTD's
Well, that's all for this week. Hope you enjoyed tonight's blog. I will be back again next week as we are in Mexico so will be interesting on what does happen to that fantasy date card of Lyndsey's.
Bachelor Canada Season 3 - Episode Seven
Well, tonight marks the last set of dates before Hometown's. Chris and his girls are still in the Dominican Republic. Chris tells us that this week is very important and stressful for him. He has to choose who he wants to take to hometowns as he could be meeting his future inlaws and that is a serious situation.
At the resort though, the women are also stressing out and wondering who is going to get what date this week and how will that impact their chance of getting a hometown date. In pops Noah and he informs the women that there will be 3 dates, a 2/1 an individual date and a group date with three women; the only date that gets a rose on it is the 2/1. He also tells them that only half of them(three) will be going on hometown dates. Now this is going to be interesting as in other franchises, there are actually 4 hometown dates. Lyndsey is the one to read out the date card. Let's test the waters....Chris. The date is for Jessie.
Before Jessie shows up at the yacht, we get an ITM from Chris stating that this is a big step for him and Jessie as hometowns are the next week and right now he has to decide on who to take that far. After meeting up on their date, Jessie states that the only thing she wants is for Chris to finally open up. Immediately Chris realizes that he has been closed off as well and somehow he's got to open up in order to get somewhere with any of the women. When Chris went to give her a hug though, it was Jessie that broke it off. She explained that growing up, affection wasn't a part of their lives so she is really having a hard time showing it now. The whole time on the boat, even in the water(where I find is a geat place to show affection), she continually broke away when he was trying to hug or even kiss her....something there isn't right IMO.
Meanwhile, the next date card arrives and it is for the group date. Mikaela, Lyndsey and Stacey are on the date. This leaves Kait and Catie on the 2/1.
Back with Chris, he and Jessie are on the beach at the table or drinks and a chat. The whole while Chris is telling us in an ITM that he was put off by her lack of affection. They are talking about her lack of affection and Chris tells her why he feels that he really needs someone to be very affectionate with him. By the end of the night though, she's the one that reached in for a kiss. At the end of the night, Chris and Jessie are in the ocean and sitting on the beach hugging and kissing it out. We get an ITM from Jessie saying that in the past she found herself pulling away. But with Chris she doesn't want to do that. She wants more of his affectionate nature as he's bringing that out in her and she's really enjoying it.
When Chris shows up on the beach, he sees that there is a sand castle there that looks like him. As Chris and Noah are standing around, the women show up. Mikelea is the first one to give him a hug, but Lyndsey is the last one. The women then find out that they too will be making their own Chris sand sculptures and the best one will get some more individual time with Chris. This of course gets the girls thinking how they will do this. Stacey is really hoping that she will be the one as she really needs time with Chris as she hasn't had an individual date. Chris came down to check on them and see how things are going which of course shows that the women are a long ways off. With Lyndsey, it's a disaster at that moment....In an ITM with Chris, he states that he really hopes from deep inside that he's praying that she can get it together. A little while later, Chris and Noahshow up for the judging. Stacey's was good and it brought a smile to Chris's face as she tried to get the baseball bat in there. Then with Mikaela's she's done a step down memory lane with her favorite things that she's done with him. Lyndsey's is the one that impressed Chris as he saw how badly she was panicking earlier. The winner was chosen by Noah and Chris. The winner was Stacey. She is going to spend some alone time with Chris....Noah then tells the others not to worry as he will get some time alone with each of them tonight. In an ITM we are getting to see how hard this process has been for Lyndsey and she states that the time that they spend tonight will make or break things. I just wanted to reach out of the screen and give her a hug tonight as she really seems that she needed it.
Back at the resort, the next date card arrives; Who can take me higher.....Chris. It is Kait and Catie. Once again in the group, Kait is going on about her connection with Chris to the other women, then in an ITM she basically states that she's staying and Catie is going home for sure.....Good grief.
Catie is trying really hard to nicely tell Kait to shut up as Catie is having trouble keeping her emotions under control when Kait is constantly reminding everyone that she's the one with the best connection....gimme a break.
Stacey and Chris head to a pool at the resort and have a chance to have a chat where Chris can find out more about Stacey. Chris wants to know how her parents will react with Chris going there after they really hadn't spent much time together. They continue chatting about the future, what she wants in it and whether Chris can fit into it. Stacey states that throughout the process she's felt a little lost except going into today. She really wants to take him home and can see herself falling in love with Chris.
Back at the resort, Catie is really having a hard time dealing with the fact that she's on the 2/1 and doesn't understand why she was picked for that date versus any of the others. Jessie tries to calm her down and get her off that ledge but Catie is really distraught about it all. IMO what Kait says to her has no good affect to it. Yep, I am really starting to have a problem with Kait an the traps that she put Meghan into and now Jessie....not one of the likes in a person for me...but again, am I reading it wrong??
For the night portion of the date, the three women meet up with Chris at the Casa Colonial Beach and spa for the cocktail party for four. LOL. Chris sits down next to Lyndsey and has a cheers with some wine before he first takes Mikaela aside. Lyndsey states in an ITM that she is really starting to have a hard time with this. She's watching others fall in love with him at the same time, she too is falling and it's really hard to witness. Mikaela tells Chris that she'd be happy and proud to take him home for hometowns. She informs him that they are in Winnipeg even though she is living in Toronto. Before the end of their time, they share in some kisses. Chris states in an ITM that he's falling for Mikaela but he is also falling for others as well. Lyndsey is the next one to get some alone time. It is now that she gets into some serious conversation as to how she is scared shitless to lose him although she doesn't really have him yet. You can see from the hands on contact that he has with her, he's taking the process very serious and wants to make sure she is reassured.
Although he didn't give her a kiss, they had a really serious conversation that's been a long time coming. Wow, if it wasn't going in this direction before, tonight really showed me that Lyndsey is getting a F1'ish edit....wonder what's going to happen next. One thing for sure, Chris really wants to reassure her all the time that things are great between them and he wouldn't take anyone to hometowns that he's unsure of. No rose was handed out on the date.
Kait and Catie are on their way to meet up with Chris for their date. Kait says in an ITM that she's calm, more right for Chris, meanwhile, she says that Catie
is so frazzled and upbeat that she states it's hard to deal with. The women meet up with Chris who informs them that they are going to take a cable car to the top of the mountain where their date takes place. They are far enough up the mountain that it is so misty and foggy up there when they get off the cable car. Chris takes Kait aside first to have a chat. It is here that Kait tells him that she's falling in love with him. Although they don't share any kisses, they do share some hugs before Chris takes her back to their location. Next up is Catie....she is still so stressed out and as Chris takes her aside, he begins telling her what he thought would happen. He tells that it's her intense nature that he's uncertain about. Catie informs him that she's tried to stay in the bubble but really doesn't know if she succeeded as she hahris heads off to have some alone time to think about his decision. When Chris comes back to the women, Chris hands out the rose to Catie. After saying his goodbyes to Kait, Chris and Catie head off together.
Back at the resort, one of the guys arrives and takes Kait's luggage from the resort. As they are waiting for Chris, it's Noah that shows up and informs the women that there won't be a cocktail party and they are going straight into the rose ceremony where there will be only two more roses to hand out. The roses were handed out to Mikaela and Lyndsey which means that Stacey and Jessie head home from the Dominican Republic on their own.
My thoughts on this week:
With Catie, she was really emotional and opening up is hard for her but she really put out an effort.
With Lyndsey, she seems so scared of what could happen and that she could lose Chris. To me, that's been the typical F1 edit of past seasons....they get worried at this time of the season cause and I think Lyndsey said it; she's petrified at the thought of losing him and she still hasn't got him as of yet. The thing with their chat.....we weren't really shown Chris's face when Lyndsey was talking about it. Kind of like the editors / producers of the show know that Chris shows everything on his face and they were trying to hide what he was feeling. So much of their chat seemed more like a F1 situation in the making happening here.
With Mikaela, the whole date went smooth and without a hitch. No real concerns from either her or Chris....wow, things are almost going too easy for them and to tell you the truth, that really isn't a F1 edit as for a storyline for the lead and the possible F1, there is a storyline set out from the getgo. With Mikaela, I have yet to see any kind of storyline for her that wasn't solved by the end of one episode as in epi 6 when there was a "wrinkle" but that wrinkle was solved by the same episode. Now when you look at Lyndsey and Chris, the storyline for BOTH of them is the age factor and that storyline has continued from their chat on night one till now.
Next week looks intense as Chris heads with Mikaela to her hometown where they are on a horseback riding date. Lyndsey's hometown includes a picnic and a sexy walk down a country road and we only get glimpses of Catie as she takes Chris for a walk in the rain on their way to their families place. From looking at the preview, it seems that Chris are gonna have some tense family times ahead.
Well, that's all for this week. I will get the preview video up for hometown dates as soon as I can. In the meantime though, you can check out the chart below and give me your thoughts on who you think will be the final one this season. Have a great week everyone!!

Bachelor Canada Season 3 - Episode Six
Once again, Chris and the women are in the Dominican Republic. The women are sitting around the pool area in groups discussing who else but Britt. The first date card arrives and it is Kait that finds it. It's time to make a move.....Chris. Jesie, Megan, Stacey and Britt are on the date. The women arrive at the date location to see Chris there waiting for them.
Chris tells them that they are going to learn how to dance Dominican style. Most of the women are feeling good about it but Meghan, not so much. Mind you, Meghan is more of a shy type. Now in an ITM, we see Stacy saying that she was feeling uncomfortable learning how to dance and knowing she's got to do it for Chris makes her the most unsure that she's been so far. Chris can tell that something is off right now with Meghan as she seems really closed off to him so he took her aside to have a chat. Immediately he asks how long she's been dancing. In an ITM, we hear Meghan tell us that she really wants to tell Chris about what's been going on with Britt, but she also knows that this is her time with him so she wants to focus on their connection.
The girls begin their dances - first was Jessie.....Chris felt that she was confident and killed the bar dance. Next was Stacey.......he thought that she was kind of awkward, but had her own type of confidence and sexiness happening and that she looked hot. Next up was Meghan.....he felt that she may of been uncomfortable and a sad face on. At the end was Britt. For hers, we never heard anything of what he thought......only what Britt thought. Come on - so over this girl.
Then at the end of the dance we hear Chris say how uncomfortable he was feeling cause of how Britt was staring him down. Normally there is a sexiness between them but today was the first time he felt uncomfortable and it continued on.
Back at the resort, the next date card arrives. Lyndsey was the one to find it: Light me up.....Chris. The date is for Mikaela. Most of the other girls are happy because of it, but Catie was noticably not. She stated in an ITM that she was really thinking that it was time for her to have another date.
Chris and the women are heading to the Cafe del Mar for the evening portion of their date. After the wine gets poured and the cheers happens, Jessie is the first to take Chris away for a chat, much to Britts chagrin. Britt tries to stir up the drama level when she is sitting with Meghan and Stacey's but to their credit, they don't bite and it just makes her look even worse I think as she keeps trying to ramp things up and start problems. Stacey stands up to head over to Chris and immediately Britt starts being condescending to Meghan. In an ITM, we hear Meghan state that she didn't want to be confrontational with Britt, but on the other hand, she's had enough. So she brings up the conversation that they had earlier today and yesterday when sitting around the pool and some of the nasty things that Britt has said to her. Now that they are on camera, Britt tries to act so sweet and put the blame on Meghan. Gimme a break....This chickie really needs to hit the bricks and head home. Britt says a few more things to Meghan which then the dam finally breaks and Meghan finally stands up for herself. This prompts Britt to walk out of the group date claiming that she doesn't need to put up with this anymore. Chris then sees Britt walk out and he stops his time with Stacey and heads back to the Britt show so he can have a chance to talk with the other women whom promptly tell him exactly what's going on. In the end, Chris admits that he's seen some things himself so as he states in an ITM, there are two sides to everything so he left the others to find out where Britt is. Chris tells her some of what Meghan said, primarily that Meghan said that Britt wasn't there for him. Britt says then why else would she be there. This of course makes Chris's head shake. Britt carried on to say that she's tried so hard to be nice to everyone and this is what she gets for her efforts. Chris heads back to the other women and Britt heads to the producers to say that she's wanting to head home. No group date rose was handed out.
The next day, the women are sitting around the resort talking about Britt not being there anymore. The women on the group date were able to tell the others what happened on the date and the crap that went down. Jessie told the others that it was Britt that basically made it look like it was Meghan lying the whole time and Britt was the victim. Got to say, the other women saw through it all.
Chris is standing there waiting for Mikaela to show up when we get an ITM from him talking about how he just wants to have a chill day and forget all the drama from yesterday. They meet up in the square in the downtown core and Chris states that they are just going for a walk and see the sights. They then stop at a cigar making place where they are able to roll their own. Chris states in an ITM that he feels really good around her so that's what he wants....just to be with her. Some of her ITM's though of how she feels that she's falling in love with him, and over the top gushing is really making me think that nope, she's not going to be the F1.
Back at the resort, the women find a card and a spread of chocolates and wine. I hope this week's surprise brightens your day.....Chris. The women are quick to tuck into some wine and chocolate.
Back on the date with Mikaela, for the evening portion they are going to the Fort Aleza San Philippe which is a very historic location. He says that they are on an upwards tragectory in their relationship but he wants more romance. With how giddy she is acting, how shse really isn't getting erious for most of the day, it is peronally hard to take what's going on as serious between them. Mikaela states in an ITM how she wants to tell him that she's falling in love with him....but she doesn't. He hands out the rose to Mikaela. After sunset, they are at the rock wall when the fireworks start going off.
It is here though that she finally tells him that she's falling in love with him. We get in an ITM from Chris of how he's scared to fall too fast and of course telling the girls - whoever that may be - that he is and then to have to take those words back, may be imposible. He's afraid to say anything as he has other women there that he has immense feelings for as well.
The following day, the date card arrives. Stimilate my senses....Chris. Kait, Lyndsey and Catie. Chris is waiting for the women at the Natura Cabana Spa and he tells us that the date is all about being sensitive, stimilated and sexy. The date is all about practicing the art of seduction with aphrodesiacs. After they make their concoctions, they one by one head in to be sensetive together. Cait is the first one. After giving him a cacao bean, then running her hands on his chest, then lets see.....oh yea, putting burning hot wax on his shoulders while you try to make out with the guy. Oh this may not be good. Next up is Lyndsey. She puts on his shoulders a massage compound that she made up, followed that with some sensual kissing as she proceeded to straddle him. As Chris states in an ITM, she's hot.....like the girl next door with a little something extra. We get an ITM from Lyndsey that she's falling for him and the only thing she can see is him. We then see Chris putting on Lyndsey's massage compound onto Lyndsey's upper chest and neck as they once again make out. When Lyndsey was walking away, there were some neat handprint impressions on her butt and as Chris was watching her walk away, you can see him glance down and sheepishly cover himself....guess the potion worked. Lastly was Kait. She came with her "fruitsome" - one to get him going, another to keep it there, then one to finish him off.
Claiming that this might get a little messy, she first slipped out of her dress which of course took Chris aback. She started with a temple masage then to his chest with another one. He just started making out with her and she pulled away, picked up her dress and left.....weird.
For the night portion, they went for drinks and a chat. Kait is the first one to take him aside for a chat. Not a whole lot of convo happened as they were just kissing again. Next was Catie. She was really over top in her approach with Chris which promptly made him give us an ITM of how Catie may be too over the top for him. Lyndsey was the last one to have a chat with him. She proceeded to tell him that she's falling for him. You can see how Chris was really hesitant to say anything. At the end of the night, he gave the rose to Kait.
The women are waiting for Chris to arrive. When he does, he's making a speech about how he's struggling with letting his guard down. He's saying that he can't be that way anymore and as hard as it is to open up, he's going to start doing it. Stacey is the first one to get him aside tonight.....asking him what he meant for the speech. he was able to tell her that he's scared that when he finally opens up, things are going to get harder. Stacey says in an ITM how she understands cause she is a guarded person as well so she gets it. They finished their chat with a kiss. Next up is Mikaela. He is able to tell her that the other night during the fireworks when she told him that she's falling for him, he found himself closing off and not as open to her as she was to him. He promises that he will try not to do that anymore. Meghan is the next one....They started back in their conversation about the other night and then we get an ITM from Chris that it worries him that Meghan doesn't want to move forward. Catie is the next one. Once again, Catie gets really intense with Chris and it worries him that she can't do that.
For the rose ceremony, other than roses that were previously handed out to Mikaela and Kait; Jessie, Lyndsey, Stacey and Catie also receive roses tonight.
My impressions from this week:

My impressions from this week:
After past individual dates Chris has said in ITM's that he has thought of that girl often....Namely Lyndsey, Britt and now Mikaela. For that reason, I am hesitant to think that Mikaela' individual date tonight really meant something in the grand scheme of things. BUT what I did find interesting....Chris can't wipe the smile off his face with Lyndsey. Tonight once again, I noticed how their time together on the dates and cocktail parties are edited to the hilt. Seems like a F1 edit of seasons past so something to watch for. FWIW, I do see growth in Chris's relationship between him and Lyndsey, Stacey and Jessie this week. Mikaela, although it is an individual date, I just didn't see the same light in his eye that he's had on other dates.
Well, that's all for this week. Hope everyone enjoyed the show and my blog for this week. Check out the chart below and as soon as I can, I will upload preview for episode 7. Check out vids on Youtube and if there are any that you'd like to see, let me know.

EPISODE 7 PREVIEW VIDEO
Bachelor Canada Season 3 - Episode Five
Tonight finds the women and Chris at Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. First up, we see Chris talking about how special the Dominican Republic is to him as it is his "second" home as far as he's concerned since he played ball there for 5 yrs. We then get to see the women arriving at their villa and checking out the pool and rooms.
Finally Noah shows up with their first date card of the week. Let me sweep you off your feet....Chris. Brittany gets the individual date AND a package to go along with it. She opens it up to find a pair of earings and necklace. So obviously she has now gotten the typical "princess" date as that is usually what's involved. When Brittany arrives at the date location, she finds out that there is a heli for them.
Meanwhile, back at the villa, Lyndsey knows a secret that will affect the other women so she spills the beans that Britt told her on the last group date, she passed a note onto Chris. This of course infurriates the women. There is a general concensus amongst the group that now is the time that they need to take a stand and tell Chris that she's been bragging in the house about their connection and time with him.
Back with Chris, he and Britt arrive at the Gasevoort Dominican Republic to continue on with their date. Britt goes on in ITM's of how the passion is the most important thing to her and they do have it. Meanwhile in ITM's Chris is saying that passion is one thing and that's great but he needs a whole lot more and he just doesn't know if that is there with Britt. So as the saying goes....what's gonna win out and what's going to be the best thing in the long run??? Now they are in the pool and of course there is more making out....BUT what I noticed and I don't know how many others out there did, but as they were kissing, she looked directly at the camera and you can see in her eyes the, "I got him and nobody else stands a chance" look. Come on....us the viewers aren't catching onto the game she's playing....gimme a break. Here we go again.....Whitney(season 1) 2.0 action happening all over again. I am sooooo over this chick and this date right now.
Back at the villa, the next date card arrives. Let's go deeper.....Chris. Meghan, Jessie, Kait.
Back with Chris and Britt, they arrive on the deck and are treated to music as they dance away to the music and the sun setting. At the end of the dance, Chris hands out the rose to Britt.
Chris is on a boat waiting for the three to arrive. He tells us that they will be going deep sea fishing today. After the women arrive, Chris tells them what they are doing for the day and all three are going ok. It is on this date that Meghan doesn't fare so well with sea sickness. Chris tries to help her through it and then Jessie takes a stab at it.....which leaves the gate open for Kait to sneak in for some alone time(whatever alone time you can get on a boat with 7 people). Meghan's sea sickness was getting bad enough that Chris felt that he had to bail on the fishing part of the date as he knows what it's like as he's been stuck on a boat and sick as well.
Back at the villa, the women decide that now is the time to challenge Britt about the note and clear the air. The girls are trying to diplomatically bring up the issue about the note and the rules about the kind of contact allowed, when Britt blows a "gasket" in a way saying that she's a rule breaker and for lack of a better term, they better get use to it as she's sticking around. Then she went onto say how "f" fabulous the date was. Yep we have another Whitney on our hands here. Never liked Whit in season 1 and really don't like Britt now. The women carry on and talk amongst themselves about how the Britt drama is affecting the whole group. When the date card arrives, Diamonds are a girls best friend....Chris. Mikaela, Lisa, Stacy, Catie and Lyndsey.
When we re-join Chris, it is Jessie that gets the first ID time. They have a bit of a chat while Kait and Meghan are left alone. IMO, Kait is so much more confident than Meghan is and IMO, Kait feeds off of that which of course leaves Meghan feeling more self concious as well. Meghan is the last one to get alone time with Chris. Finally Meghan has had a chance to open up and tell Chris how special he was to her today. Meghan went into further discussion of how she was treated so badly by her past boyfriends. Before they ended their alone time, Chris asked Meghan to keep being herself and they finished that off with some nice kisses before heading back to the group. Before leaving the women for the night, Chris handed out the rose to Meghan which of course sent Katie into the why not me's and shaking her head as she just couldn't believe it wasn't her getting the rose.
The next day, Meghan, Britt, Jessie and Katie are sitting around chatting. Meghan is happy that she got the rose, but Britt was wanting to stir the pot and is basically laughing at the fact that it was Meghan that got the rose and not anyone else. Then Kait and Britt went off to chat and guilty by association, I am now starting to question Kait and how serious she is about this or is it another challenge and game?
For the second group date, we see Chris waiting for them at the ball diamond and the women are informed that they will be playing baseball today with the kids. As the game progresses, Chris is amazed by a few of the women, namely Lyndsey and Catie. Then Lisa comes to bat and she slides into first base. This completely impresses him as he says himself that you don't often see that in pro-ball never mind a game like they are playing today. At the end of the game, Chris informs the kids that were playing with them that he is leaving the ball equipment with them that they brought. This of course sends the kids into happy land as they run and grab the gear that is being handed out. Chris comes over to the women and thanks them for the first part of the date but now he has to choose an MVP for game. Chris chooses Lyndsey and in an ITM, he states that he really needs to figure out a few things.
The two arrive for the evening portion of their date and the main thing he needs to know is if she's really ready for this. When the two of them sit down, Lyndsey tells him that watching him with the kids today really made her swoon. When Chris states that the age difference is a big concern for him once again, Lyndsey tries to re-assure him once more of how ready she is for this. In an ITM, she tells us about her grandparents love and that is what she wants in her life. He tells her that is real fear now in knowing their age gap, BUT, the other thing that he tells her that he can't get over the fact that he cannot stop thinking about her. Not only that, but he also says that he's throwing his chips all in with her. WOW, some strong words for sure! After handing out the rose to her, they share some romantic kisses
Showing up for the cocktail party, Catie is the first one that gets to take him aside. She is followed by Lisa, Stacey and finally Britt....this one of course gets the girls riled up again as they all feel that because Britt has a rose, she shouldn't be the one to take alone time. And, away the biotch party begins. Mind you, Britt really isn't a fave of mine. Actually far from it.
Along with Britt, Meghan and Lyndsey who already had date roses, roses were also handed out to Catie, Jessie, Stacey, Mikaela, and Kait. This left Lisa as the lone person heading home.
My impressions of this week:
Britt was so annoying....how do chicks act like that and think they are smart....baffles my mind. Kait was annoying this week. I saw a catty side of her that wasn't present before as she was snickering and laughing at Meghan's expense to Jessie. Didn't see a lot happening with Meghan, but glad that she got the rose if nothing else, it made Katie realize that she's not queen tut.
Next week they are still in the Domminican Republic and I will be back for another blog and chart update. I will also hopefully be able to download the preview video for episode 6 as soon as I can. Until then, have a great week everyone!

Bachelor Canada Season 3 - Episode Four
Tonight's episode begins where we left off last week. The group is still in Costa Rica and there are now only eleven girls left. Noah shows up at the ladies villa where he hands off the date card; Meet me at my place....Chris. Britt M, Jessie, Kait and Stacey. At Chris's place, the women arrive to find out that it is going to be a pool party kind of date. As they play in and around the pool complete with water guns, etc, Chris has a chance to take each woman aside for a personal chat.
At the mansion/villa, Lyndsey, Catie and Dee are talking about dates and how they all need to step things up. Dee then talks about her daughter again. Inside, a new date card arrives. Whose got Bomba....Chris. Dee, Lara, Lisa, Lyndsey, Meghan, Mikaela. This leaves Catie as the person who gets the individual date this week.
Back with the pool party, the group has now dried off and is back inside for the rest of the date. After a cheers with wine, Britt M whisks Chris away outside for their chat....or non chat as it may be as no sooner as they sat down than Britt M planted a kiss on Chris. Before they went upstairs, she tried to bad talk the other women. After going back upstairs to re-join the group, Chris handed out the date rose to Jessie which of course you can see it didn't impress Britt M one bit as Jessie has become one of her major rivals in the house.
For group date two, the women met up with Chris and found out that they were going to write a bomba which is a traditional latin american poem. It is one to explain why you like the woman/guy. they found out that not only are they going to write the poem but they will have to recite it in front of the group. Not only that but they will be writing the bomba in pairs. The pairs lined up as: Dee/Lyndsey, Meghan/Mikaela, and Lara/Lisa. Lisa and Lara was first....followed by Dee and Lyndsey, next was Mikaela and Meghan. The winners of the duo was Mikaela and Meghan. When the battle was done, the duo found out that they now had to go head to head for the only one to win the time with Chris.
Back at the villa, the tension was also coming to a head as Jessie tried to talk to Britt M about what happened on the date and how Britt's personality is ruining things at the house. As you may guess....that didn't go over very well. For some reason, Britt M is really reminding me of Whitney from Bachelor Canada season 1. How is it that these girls don't get how bad they come off as when they act like this.....come on already!
So, Mikaela and Meghan are now ready to go at it head to head for a rap battle. In the end, Chris chose Mikaela as the winner of the battle.
Back at the villa, the next date card arrives; Namastay with me....Chris. Of course that date is for Catie and she's so excited.
Chris and Mikeala continue their date at the mini golf. After playing a round, the two of them are able to sit down for a chat over some champagne and they both delve into each other's wants/needs as far as this show and their life goes. They head to another area where they enjoy the sunset and are able to have a private concert and dance. At the end of the night, Chris hands out the rose to Mikaela.
The next day, Catie meets up with Chris for their date. Catie finds out that Chris did plan a duo yoga date for them which is something that's really important to her. As Chris states, he is really having a hard time getting comfortable with the yoga concepts but he is really going to try it as in past relationships, he's had a hard time getting physical. for the night portion of their date, they stayed at the retreat and were able to sit back and enjoy each other's company. They were talking about the yoga and what that brought out in him. Chris states in an itm how the no judging zone that he has with Catie is the most awesome place that he's been. Before the end of the night, Chris handed out the rose to her and they shared some kisses before going into the pool and once again sharing some kisses under the waterfall.
The next day Dee is sitting down with Mikaela and Stacy for a chat as she is really struggling being away from her daughter and she really doesn't know if she's wasting her time around there right now.
For the cocktail party, all the women are sitting around chatting while they are waiting for Chris to arrive. When he does arrive he starts taking some women aside to find out where they stand now. Lyndsey is the first to ask to take him aside for a chat. Before they have a chance to sit down, Chris takes Lyndsey in his arms and plants a huge kiss on her. Next up was Lisa followed by Britt M. Dee heads out to talk with Chris but finds Lara still talking to him. Dee immediately gets to the point and how she's taking time away from her daughter, she needs to know if there is something there. Chris informs her that yea, he still feels a connection with her but out of respect to her and her daughter, he knows he can't give her the answer she wants right now and is letting her go. The night ended with the rose ceremony. Along with the previous roses handed out to Jessie, Mikaela and Catie, roses were also handed out to Lyndsey, Britt M, Kait, Meghan, Stacey, and Lisa.
My impressions of this week:
Catie and her time with Chris. Not so sure that their relationship is really going to go anywhere. Yes, Mikaela had some time with Chris but IMO, there just is something "missing". Lyndsey....Her time with Chris always seems to be chopped and lopped up....IMO, that has been a typical stance taken with the F1. Britt really didn't do herself any favors today....especially with me. LOL.
Well, that's all for tonight. Next week they are off to the Dominican Republic. When I can, I will upload the preview video for episode 5. In the meantime, check out the chart from this weeks episode below. I will be back next week with another blog.....

BACHELOR CANADA - Season 3 - Epi 3
Tonight we find Chris and the women still in Costa Rica. The women were discussing the rose ceremony the night before and of course the conversation turned to the the next "villian" of the season; Britt M. Apparently Britt is doing "too much" cooking and therefore she is running under the suspicion of the other women for scheming and trying to fatten up the other women so she can have Chris to herself.
Really???????
In the meantime, Noah comes by the villa to tell the women that there will be three dates this week; two group dates and a single one. Before leaving, he puts a date card on the table and tells the women that he'll see them next at the rose ceremony.
The first date card read To join the mile high club - Chris. Catie, Meghan, Mikaela, and Stacy. When the women arrive at the date location, they find out that they are going to be going down the longest and highest zipline in Costa Rica. This prompts a minor breakdown with Meghan as she is deathly scared of heights. Going down the first part was the scariest. Chris and the women were trussed up and looked like burito's as they were let go to slide down the longest part of the line. Everything was great till it was Meghan's turn. You can see how petrified she was. When she was finally at the bottom with the others, was it that aparent how afraid she was.
Really???????

You can see how petrified she was. When she was finally at the bottom with the others, was it that aparent how afraid she was.
Meanwhile back at the house, the women were still talking about Britt M when the next date card arrived. When it was read out; "Hold on tight and don't let go" - Chris. The ones going on the date are: April, Britt M, Britt W, Catie, Dee, Jessie, Lara, Lisa, and Lyndsey. This left Katie as the one to get the individual date.
For the night portion of the group date, they stayed onsite at the zipline place. Each of the women were able to have a chat with Chris starting with Mikaela. The two of them were able to have a chat about Mikaela's backstory. Of how she was bullied and how that had changed her life. Stacey was the next one to have time with Chris. Finally the two of them were able to have a better chat and their time ended with a kiss between them which IMO was a long time coming. Meghan and finally Catie ended the night. When Chris had a chance to talk with everyone, he handed out the group date rose to Mikaela.
For the second group date, the women arrived at the date location to find Chris waiting for them dressed in western wear. Chris had a chance to tell them that the'd be taking in the local customs and today was a rodeo of sorts. There was the traditional "parade" filled with dancing and costumes. Then Chris surprised the women telling them that they'd be riding the bulls. You can see the terrified looks in the women's faces till they rounded the corner and found out that it was a mechanical bull versus the real deal. The challenge was that the four top point getters would be the four that would carry on with the date and the others would have to return to the villa. After all the women had their turn on the bull, the top four were Britt M, Britt W, Dee and Lyndsey.
Back at the villa, the next date card arrived. It was for Katie and it simply read "Hang Ten" - Chris. Katie was excited but at the same time was very cool about it around the other women.
When we are sent back to the group date, we find Chris having a chance to talk to talk with the four remaining women, starting with Britt M. The two of them were able to talk again about her backstory, of how she was bullied and how that changed her life. They finished their chat with a kiss. Next up was Dee. She was able to talk more about her daughter and how that could change his life and if he was ready to jump into the situation. Finally Chris had a chance to have a chat with Lyndsey. They were able to touch base once again and find out how things were going with both of them. At the end of their chat, they were able to sneak in some great kisses. When all the talks were done, Chris handed out the group date rose to Britt M.
The next day Chris and Katie met at the beach where it was Chris that was giving Katie surfing lessons. In not too much time, Katie was able to get up on her board and ride a wave. The two of them surfed a bit longer and played in the ocean sharing some kisses before heading out to dry land and the rest of their evening.
Back at the villa, the girls are sitting around talking when Britt M comes upstairs to join them. As she enters the room, the women see that she has strategically placed the rose from the night before behind her ear. This of course sends the other women over the edge and drama ensues. Every time that Britt M steps out of the room you can hear the chirping happening. Come on now. I know that I am not there living what they are doing, but for a person to be that brass and flaunt the rose in front of the other women takes a bunch of you know what to do that. Quite stupidly and that's for sure.
Meanwhile, back on the beach, Chris and Katie have settled down to a beachside setup where there is a couch and table, flowers and candles awaiting them. Here is where they are able to get into a serious conversation about her past relationship and how that has affected her to today. At the end of their chat, they are able to share some more playful kisses before Chris asks her to accept the rose. After sharing more kisses, the two of them fly a couple of kites as they are running up and down the beach.
At the villa, the women are ready when Chris shows up for the cocktail party. Chris says in an ITM that he is eager to take some of the women aside for a chat that he hasn't spent much time with this week. First up is Jessie whom is able to tell Chris some of her backstory and why she is slow to open up. Next was was Lara quickly followed by Lisa. You can see Chris's face as he's listening to Lisa and knows some of what she's saying is pretty far out there....Mikaela is the last one to chat with Chris which of course brings a chorus of disappointed cries from the women, especially when some of them weren't able to talk with Chris yet.
Since Mikaela, Britt M and Katie already had roses, other roses were handed out to Jessie, Catie, Lara, Stacy, Meghan, Dee, Lyndsey, and Lisa. This left April and Britt W without roses and therefore sent home.
My impressions from this week:
Once again, Lyndsey is taking stage in this epi. Chris seems to light up when Lyndey is around.
Well, that's all for this week. You can check out the chart below and as soon as I can, I will post a preview for episode 4 as they are still in Costa Rica for the next week.
BACHELOR CANADA - SEASON 3 EPI 2
For the first group date, April, Britt W, Catie, Lisa, Meghan, and Mikalea all joined Chris on the beach for a good ole bachelor photoshoot with the women and Chris of course dressing up in period or activity attire. There was Meghan from the 1800's, Mikaela from the 1950's, Lisa in a mermaid costume, April in 1970's, Britt W in a Baywatch theme, and Catie in a shipwreck(island garb and coconuts for bra). At the end of the photoshoot, Chris and the women went poolside for drinks and chats. It was here that Mikaela got a kiss, others were able to have a chat with Chris. At the end of the date, Catie was given the group date rose.
For the second group date, they were supposed to go to the beach for a physical group activity but cause the day was so hot, Chris chose it to be a pool party at the "mansion". Shanti was the first one up where she started talking crap about the other women with him and not about their relationship building. So during their sit around the pool, Chris was asking how life is in the house. When the women(according to Shanti) begin lying about how good it is and who does the work around the place, who does the cooking, Shanti gets upset and once again, begins to monopolize Chris's time. Does this girl ever take a break??? As Chris states, he's beginning to realize that all problems are because of Shanti and not others. Meanwhile, Dee walks into the kitchen in mid conversation cause she heard "the mouth" Shanti telling Chris that Dee has a child. Meanwhile, Dee hasn't been able to have alone time to be able to tell Chris about her daughter and the way Shanti brought it up is like she wanted to tell dirt to Chris about the women and put the "Shanti" spin on things. Sorry, but I am done with this girl. Meanwhile, Chris takes the women to Pangas Beach Club to talk with the original group of women that were supposed to actually be on the date; Ashley, Britt M, Dee, Jessica, Kait, Lara, Shanti and Stacy. Stacy followed by Kait are the first ones to have alone time with Chris. Again, Shanti makes it a drama fest and excludes herself from the situation and as Chris says, he's certain that it is for drama sake versus wanting to get to know him. Before the group date ended, Chris finally sent Shanti packing. At the end of the date, Chris didn't hand out the date rose.
My impressions this week:
Chris and Lyndsey's date - sparks flew and were palpable. Chris and Mikaela had some time but no sparks.
The next day, Noah arrives and tells the women that he's talked with Chris and he decided that there is no cocktail party and they will go straight into the rose ceremony. Along with Lyndsey who got a rose on her date and Catie who got the group date rose, roses were handed out to Stacy, Mikaela, Kait, Dee, Britt M, Meghan, Lisa, Lara, Britt W, Jessica, and April.

Episode 3 Preview
SEASON 3: PREMIERE
Well this blog is late but hopefully better than never. Had a great Canadian Thanksgiving with family reminiscing of growing up picking grapes on the very day that we were all around the table this year. Great childhood memories shared, celebrating another year gone and more memories made.
Now onto Chris and his harem..... Twenty showed up night one. There were definitely a few resident crazies, some others that the jury is still out on and then there are the ones that show promise. As always, there isn't a ton of things that happen on night one, but the main one that I can think of is that IMO, Shanti will be the drama queen of the season. Holy Smokes!! Well, that's all for now. Check back next thursday when I can do up another blog and as always, will go into deeper depth from episode two onwards.
Above you can see the season preview video..... Check out the chart below for the first episode. This season's travels kicks off with the Episode two being in Puerto Rico.

A New Bachelor Season is Upon Us

Chris Leroux
Chris has had a successful career as a Major League Baseball pitcher, Canada’s new Bachelor, Chris Leroux, is ready to step up to the plate and settle down with a family of his own. The 33-year-old is at a crossroads, having recently retired from pro baseball, and is looking for someone to share his life with who is genuine, honest and loves to laugh.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, Chris moved to Mississauga, Ontario with his parents and brother when he was three-years-old. He grew up with strong family values and an ingrained passion for sports. Chris’ dad introduced him to baseball when he was young, and with his family’s encouragement and support, he set his sights on the big leagues. With a lot of hard work and perseverance, Chris fulfilled his dream, playing for the New York Yankees, Florida Marlins and Pittsburgh Pirates throughout his incredible career.
Chris’ success is matched by his kindness, loyalty, stunning good looks and sense of humour, and after travelling and living everywhere from Tokyo to Los Angeles for baseball, Chris (along with his dog Cash) is now ready to put down roots in Toronto.
All blogs and charts will be placed here throughout the season....hope you enjoy all the updates.
BACHELOR CANADA SEASON 2
Bachelor Canada – Episode 1
Bachelor Canada started tonight with the latest hunk to grace the Bachelor Canada forum; Tim Warmels. Tonight’s episode took place in Vancouver where twenty-five women from all walks of life showed up to woo Tim.
With it being the first night, as always most women seem to be on their best behaviour and not much out of and activity happened, considering the liquor seemed to flow freely. The one note of change from the first season is that Tim had stated that they are going by a new set of rules this time around...his ones and he didn’t waste time in showing that by passing out roses, besides the traditional first impression rose, even before the first rose ceremony.
And true to form(bachelor form that is), we already were treated to some cattiness and since we’ve seen this show before, we also know who will be the ones that will create the drama if given a chance. Tonight, in that department, Lisa caught my eye. Now I hate to draw the line, but considering that in Bachcan 1, Whitney, like Lisa from tonight are both from Calgary, both redheads and both seem to like the drama, I wonder what that means for this season.
Limo arrivals and different things that the ladies did/brought with them included.. Sachelle who brought a seashell to help him remember her name(sea – shell Sa – chelle..they do sound alike if you say it fast), Dominique who gave him the pregnant pause/silent treatment, Trisha who arrived wearing a name sache, Renee-Anne who wrote him a “prescription” for the night, and finally as to not be outdone; April Bor from Victoria who is a burlesque dancer brought her own stash of glitter and shot off a glitter ball as she exited the limo.
The attention getting didn’t stop there; inside during their private time with Tim, some of the women kept the ball rolling.... with a baked apple pie by Rebecca and not to be outdone, Kelsey sobered off the cork from a bottle of champagne. Throughout the night, roses were handed out to Christine who got the first impression rose, Natalie and finally Sachelle. When all was said and done, twelve more roses were handed out to: Kaylynn, Jewel, Dominique, Martha, Rileigh, April Borgnetta, Lisa, Renee-Anne, April Brockman, Alison, Sonia and Trisha. This leaves Andrea, Jacqueline, Jennifer, Jewel, Kelsey, Raelee, Rebecca, Rituska, Sarah and Sharan heading home roseless.
Well, that’s all for this week. Ya know it’s gonna just get better starting next week. In the meantime, check in with Coastal’s Charts, weekly cheatsheets, and video preview for the season. Till then, hope you all have a great week!!
EPISODE 2
Bachelor Canada Epi 2
Flying high, and drama abounds
Kaylynn is the first one to get a date this week. She meets up with him at the heli pad by the Canada Place/cruise ship dock and find Tim standing in front of a heli waiting for her. From there, they have a tour of Vancouver before heading up to Grousse Mountain where they board the tram to the top of the mountain. Getting out, they find remnants of winter snow still kicking around. They head up to the top of the Eye of the Wind viewing pod that is also a wind turbine. Sitting there, they enjoy their dinner and some good conversation. At the end, Tim hands her the rose and they share in a sweet kiss.
The next day is a group date. There are 2 teams of 5 girls: Blue team: Alison, Dominique, Lisa, Renee-Anne and Sachelle. The yellow team is: April Borg, Jenny, Martha, Rileigh and Trish. The women head down to the docks to meet up with Tim and promptly find out they are doing dragon racing in False Creek. Already in their team colors, they find out that the winning team will be going to the after party while the losing team will be going back to the mansion.
Meanwhile, back at the mansion, the next date card arrived. The remaining four women’s names are on it which is a relief for them all. Then Kaylynn is starting to get jealous and we get numerous ITM’s about it for the rest of the episode.
The winning team was the yellow team and they went to the Dr Sun Yat-Sen Chinese Garden for some quality time with Tim. Tim says that April Borgnetta is very interesting to him but he’s really trying to get to know her. Trisha is one of the most interesting people that he’s talked to. Then we get to the other women during the chat between Tim and Trish, they are commenting on how much of a connection Tim and Trish are having. At that time, Rileigh decides that she needs to break it up. Her’s and Tim’s conversation wasn’t good even though Tim says that he finds her interesting, her negativity will play a role.
The next day Tim shows up at the mansion where he surprises the women in their jammies and having breakfast; he tells the women that he is stealing four for their date. The women and Tim head downstairs to find a whole modelling setup complete with a makeup booths and romantic set. The first up was Christine who Tim laid down on the pool deck, then Christine laid down beside him with her head on his back. Next up was April Brockman who sat on a motor bike with him and it was obvious that Tim was really into the moment. Then Natalie and Tim cozied up on a love seat and the chemistry there was amazing as they shared some kisses. Finally was Sonia who was dressed up, but it was very clear that there was no chemistry between the two and she was let go.
When the modelling part was over, Tim was left to decide who will spend the extra time with him. He chose April Brockman and the two of them were able to find a private cubby-hole at the mansion. They arrived to find Andrew Allen singing a private song for them. They topped off the night by sharing a kiss behind the blanket that Tim pulled up.
At the cocktail party, Tim pulls a few people aside throughout the night and once again, we get treated to a jealous Kaylynn. As she sits with others, Tim arrives and wants to chat with the other one and not her which eventually makes her lose it. Then Martha really dug her claws into Kaylynn and made an already fragile situation a whole lot worse.
When the roses were handed out, April Borgesse, Christine, Sachelle, Martha, Dominique, Jenny, Lisa, April Brockman, Rileigh, and Natalie all joined Kaylynn and Trisha as the rose getters this episode. This leaves Renee-Anne and Alison heading home.
Well, that’s all for this week. Hope you all enjoyed the episode, blog and charts. Next week they are on their way to Los Cabos, Mexico. Until then, hope you all have a great week!
EPISODE 3
Bachelor Canada: Cabo’s Bound
Tim and his “girls” find themselves at the Hyatt Ziva in Los Cabos for the third installment of season two. We see the women arrive at the resort and after getting into their “summer” gear, they head out to the outdoor cabanna and await Tim’s arrival.
After Tim greets the women to the resort and hands off the first date card to April Brockman, he leaves quickly leaving April to read out the card. “Let’s fall for each other…Tim.” And the first date goes to Lisa.
Picking her up at the cabana, they head up to their date location. After a drive, they arrive and as they walk up to the canyon, Tim is covering her eyes. Once they arrive, he reveals that they will be going out to the cable car above the canyon where they will be strapped into a huge swing that will literally drop them from the cable car before swinging them out over the canyon below. Once the terrifying part of it was done, they were able to swing back and forth and at that moment, they shared their first kiss.
Back at the resort, the drama continues between Martha and Kaylynn. In the beginning, Kaylynn was trying to apologize but that didn’t sit well and once again, Martha dug in and didn’t actually get what Kaylynn was trying to say.
The next date card arrives…let’s go be with the locals…mind your step….Tim. Martha, Jenny, Sachelle, and April Borgese.
Back at the canyon, Lisa and Tim walk the suspension bridge on their way to an area set up where they enjoy a dinner before Tim hands out the rose to Lisa.
The next day is the group date in the historic San Jose Del Calos Town Square. Tim meets the girls upon their arrival and they are having fun watching the mariachi dancing….little did they know, they were the ones doing the dancing. The dancers in the square are the ones that were going to teach the group how to do the mariachi dancing. Needless to say, it wasn’t going great for a few of the girls, especially Sachelle. She just wasn’t getting how to do the dance, but when it came time for them to perform for the locals, Sachelle finally decided to let go and enjoy it as she wasn’t going to do it “right” anyhow so may as well enjoy what they are doing. The women were told that the one that Tim thought did the best would get alone time and dinner with him after the dance. Tim chooses Sachelle and after getting changed into different clothes, the two of them met up for dinner.
Meanwhile, the last date card arrives back at the resort. Get set for a hot date…Natalie, April Brockman, Trish, Dominique, Christine and Rileigh. This leaves Kaylynn as the only one left out. Immediately we get an ITM from Kaylynn saying it’s not fair…excuse me? Wasn’t she the one who had an individual date the week before…heck, that’s the way this show rolls.
Back with Sachelle and Tim, they find themselves walking through the streets on their way to dinner at Don Sanchez Restaurant. They really had a chance to have a heart to heart about their dating experience in the past and what they are looking for now. Before they finished their dinner, they shared some sweet kisses. As Tim states, when they are around one another, there is a crazy spark between them.
The next day Kaylynn heads to Tim’s room to have a chat with him. She was feeling rough and left out as she didn’t get a date this week and she didn’t think it was fair. They talked for a while and Kaylynn wanted to explain to Tim that she knows that last week’s emotions were all about her and not anyone else. When all was said and done, they shared a kiss before she left.
Later in the day, Tim came to the hotel and explained to the group that there will be no group volleyball but instead will be a beach date for EVERYONE which of course really doesn’t impress the women that were supposed to have the group date with him and now are in a group of twelve instead of six. Natalie was the first of the women to get some alone time followed by Dominique, Rileigh and finally April is seen leaving the group and Tim goes after her which of course gets the rest of the women up in arms over it.
When Tim caught up with her, he found out that she’s just having a hard time with the process, even though she knows that she signed up for it. In the end when they hugged, she said that all she wants to do is to run into the ocean and get tipsy….immediately Tim takes her and they run into the ocean together. When they got back to the cabanna, Tim arrived to hard stares and tension. He realizes that he needs to make drastic changes and tells them that four will be going home today instead of the planned two. It really seems that the women didn’t even realize that a rose ceremony will happen today as well.
Since there will be no cocktail party, they went right into the rose ceremony and joining Lisa(who already has a rose) are: Kaylynn, Trisha, Sachelle, April Brockman, Natalie, Dominique and Rileigh. This leaves April Borghese, Christine, Jenny and Martha heading home.
Well, that’s all for this week; next week they are heading to the Bahamas. Check out the links below for the updated charts and cheatsheets. Until then, have a great week everyone!!
EPISODE 4
Bachelor Canada Episode 4: Shark Bait – No Kidding!
Tim and his ladies travelled to the warm Bahamas for some more tropical sun and warm breezes. They arrived at the Sandal’s resort and the women immediately took advantage of their digs and checked things out.
When they got set up, Lisa found the date card waiting for them and read it out. Let’s explore Paradise, we’ll go our own way....Natalie. After getting ready, Natalie met up with Tim in the quaint village. The two of them stopped off at a local hut and were able to get some daiquiris, before walking around the village and beach. It is really obvious that Tim ISN’T into this date at all(not that we need his ITM’s stating it as his body language is totally setting that vibe), yet we get ITM’s from Natalie stating that she can tell he’s totally into the date and her. Sorry Natalie, but how did you not get the signals?
Meanwhile back at the hotel, Lisa begins spouting off about Natalie and how she’s not good, etc. This of course gets the women up in arms, just when the group date card arrives; “Don’t be afraid to show me a little skin” and going on the date are: Kaylynn, April, Lisa, Dominique, and Sachelle. Immediately Trish knows that there will be a 2 on 1 date between her and Rileigh and she knows that one of them will be going home for sure.
Back on the beach, Natalie and Tim are walking hand and hand, but Tim also states in an ITM how he was hoping they’d find the natural chemistry between them but it’s not there. He takes her down to the beach to tell her that he isn’t giving her the rose on the date as he needs more time. Natalie immediately feels the worse for it and asks if he’s not giving her a rose, does that mean that she’s leaving. Tim replies no, but at the same hand, she also decides that now’s the time for her to leave on her own.
Back at the hotel, Lisa is still spouting off about who Natalie is and is actually being two faced and really mean regarding Natalie. When Natalie comes back to the hotel and tells the women that she’s leaving...guess who was the first to jump up and hug Natalie....yep, the two-faced Lisa. This again gets the women shaking their heads trying to figure out who is this chick. As Trish said..Jeckle/hyde? Or as April stated, someone that you can’t trust.
The next day was the group date.
The ladies arrived at the docks where Tim is waiting for them and tells them that they are going for a snorkelling adventure where they may see some fish or perhaps a turtle...yea, right Tim...That devilish look and he knows exactly what`s going on.
Meanwhile back at the hotel, the next date card arrives and Trish reads it out... “Let’s escape into the blue and find our own private paradise.” For Rileigh and Trish.
Back on the boat, the sharks are really getting revved up. Tim and the girls enter the water and begin their dive session. Kaylynn immediately gets panicked and wants out. Meanwhile, the only two left in the water are April and Tim swimming around with the sharks. Both Tim and April state in ITM’s of how they thought it was like a 1/1 time or what it would be like if it was only just the two of them left….is that a clue to the F1? Or just a passing thought?
After the group finished with the sharks, they head back to shore and partake in a cabana/pool party. The first one to get alone time was Dominique. They talked for a bit, but eventually the full on kissing started. Shortly after they kissed, Kaylynn arrives. IMO, it’s a good thing that she arrived then as if she arrived when they were kissing, you can imagine the full blown meltdown that could of happened? As they were talking, Tim realized that this Kaylynn is different and more like the Vancouver one from their date versus the Kaylynn he saw in Cabos. April found the two and stole Tim away for some quality time on her own that we didn’t see. Back with the group of women, now the kissing stories were coming out.
The next day, Rileigh and Trish have their two on one.
Rileigh and Trish head down to the pool where they meet up with Tim and they head down to the boat dock where they board a yacht-ish boat and head out to find their own “paradise”. Along the way, Tim talks to the women starting Rileigh. They have a chance to talk a bit about their lives and get to know one another a bit better. Trish was next. Tim calls Trish as being super comfortable to be around, light hearted and he wants to know if there is more there. Trish was able to tell Tim about previously being engaged but called it off. I never realized exactly how dark Trish’s hair is close to the roots….
Eventually they came across an island where they get on the smaller boat and arrive on the island to find a table set for two there. Tim knows this is where he has to make his decision. He eventually gives the rose to Trish and then walks Rileigh back to the skiff to leave. For some reason, what’s happening to Tim and Trish kind of reminds me of the connection that Brad and Bianka had in their season…time will tell though, but one thing that is very much the same, is their dates so far with having time and the 2/1 date.
Once again, there is no cocktail party before the rose ceremony. Joining Trish as the only rose getter so far are Sachelle, Lisa and April before Tim dramatically stops the ceremony and heads back to the producers….to get another rose. Returning to the women, he says how he didn’t want to let anyone else go and so at the rose ceremony, no one left tonight.
Next week, Tim is taking the women back to his hometown of Toronto where there is a group date with at least Sachelle, Lisa, Kaylynn, and Trish. Looks like we may have a lady that decides to make a return to the show, then it looks like one woman gets an individual date.

Until next week…hope you all have a great week. My fellow Canadians, I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Just a reminder to all, next week’s episode is on Tuesday night. I am taking a few extra days off next week so will get the blog up and update the charts when I get back online.
EPISODE 5
Bachelor Canada – Epi 5
First off, I apologize as I am kind of a little late with my blog this week. Canadian Thanksgiving was this last weekend and family time took precedence over the “Bach”. To all Canadians out there, hope you had a wonderful weekend with lots of family love and aren’t too turkey-d out!!
This week Tim and the women took back their adventure to Canada and Tim’s stomping grounds of the “big TO”. As the women settle into the Grand Hotel in downtown Toronto, it is Kaylynn that finds the first date card. Along with the date card was a helmet; “Get ready to hit the road…April.”
Tim arrives at the hotel on his motorbike and as April arrives, he helps her into her helmet, straps her in and gets her settled(I too remember riding on a bike very much like that one with my now husband). Starting it up and heading out, he tours around the downtown core all the while, telling her about the areas that they are going into. Stopping at the pier, they began talking about their past, what they are looking for and what they want.
Back at the hotel, the next date card arrives and Trish is the one to read it out... “Buckle up, a big surprise awaits. Tim”. Kaylynn, Lisa, Sachelle and Trish. Dominique is really put off as she’s the only one out and in an ITM, we hear how frustrated she is with it all.
Tim and April find themselves at The Raq Bar and Lounge where they see a pool table waiting for them. Racking it up for a game, April places the bet... If she wins, she gets to ride his motorbike...if he wins, he gets a kiss. Of course it is Tim that wins the game and eagerly takes his reward. In an ITM, April comments on how nice his lips are and says “whose to say I didn’t win on purpose?” At the end, they went and sat down on the couch where Tim asks her to accept the rose and they share some more hugs.
The next night, Tim is waiting for the girls to arrive at Canada’s Wonderland. The first out of the vehicle is Trish and she catapults herself into his arms...After entering the park, they went on the first ride which was like a giant pendulum type swing. Super high and fast. The next one is called the Leviathon which is a rollercoaster. As Tim states in an ITM, Trish probably won’t have a good time on the coaster. Trish finds a spot in the second row and Tim immediately heads there to sit beside Trish which left the other three girls to sit in the front row together. You can see how terrified Trish is with it all. When they are done with the coaster, they head to speed city where they are informed that they will be having a go-cart race for extra time with Tim. As the girls are racing, we get some ITM’s from Tim regarding all the women...starting with Sachelle. He says of how Sachelle is a pretty straight person, but her driving is not. With Trish, you’d think she’d go full throttle, yet she’s driving like a total granny. Then there’s Kaylynn, the one that doesn’t have her licence, driving like she’s possessed and is actually giving Lisa a run for her money. Then Kaylynn rams Lisa from behind and pushes her out of the way and stealing first place and time with Tim. The group heads over to the diner and food while Tim and Kaylynn sit in the hotrod and have some quality time...right in front of the other women sitting inside the diner. After talking for a while, they then begin making out right directly in front of the other women and I bet you can guess how well that went over...NOT! Entering the diner, Kaylynn and Tim were met with tension and even after Sachelle and Tim went out for a chat, the tension got even worse as Kaylynn was confronted by Lisa.
Meanwhile, you won’t believe who shows up and wants back in...Natalie. She arrives at the women’s room to the shock of the rest of the women there. After she left the girls room, she heads to Tim’s room to talk to him. Just as he is finished getting confronted by Natalie and she leaves the room, Tim once again gets the knock on the door and is confronted by Dominique who wants to leave the show. Tim confesses in an ITM that he didn’t make enough time for Dom and is already regretting it.
When Tim arrived at the woman’s suite, the cocktail party had already begun. He first took aside Kaylynn then Natalie to talk. In the end though during the rose ceremony; joining April, he handed out roses to Trisha, Sachelle, Kaylynn and Sachelle which left Natalie leaving once again.
Next week, they are heading to Tuscany. Until then, hope everyone has a great week and will be back next week for another blog and chart!
EPISODE 6
Bachelor Canada 2: Tuscany Fields
Tonight’s episode finds Tim and his five remaining women arriving in Tuscany on their last stop before hometown dates.
The women arrive at the Casa Buitoni which is their home base for the week. After checking out the mansion/villa/casa(however you all want to say it), we see the women settling into the casa and the whole while we are getting ITM’s from Sachelle and Trisha.
We then see Tim arriving and during an ITM, he states how he’s really hoping to use this week to find what he needs of a relationship out of one of these remaining women as next week is hometowns which is really exciting.
Back at the casa, Kaylynn has found the date card and brings it out to the women. Reading it out; “Let’s make the night sparkle…Tim” they find out that it is Trisha that gets the first individual date in Tuscany…could it be that Tim wanted her to be the first to share the town with considering she had a 2 on 1 date not long ago?? Trish was super excited and surprised that it was her that had the date. While Trish is getting ready, we are getting ITM’s from April and Sachelle talking how there is someone there that isn’t there for the right reasons…next we get frustrated ITM’s from Lisa as she realizes that her gig is up and she will be called out on.
While Tim is waiting for Trish’s arrival, he says that while with Trish he laughs all the time but is wanting to get deeper and find out if there really is something there. Immediately after getting out of the car, he greets her with a kiss. As they walk through the village, they are checking out the houses, etc, we get some more ITM’s from Trish talking about how they bring out a fun quirky side of each other and later on, we hear Tim tell her that as well. They sit down to dinner at a corner table on a piazza. Sitting down to dinner and after the bottle of champagne was popped, Tim states how this is the perfect place to fall in love. During dinner, they did have a chance for conversation to turn to serious matters and Tim opens up with Trish talking about how he loves that he can be silly with her and how that’s a side of him that not a lot of people bring out which makes him feel really comfortable. Geez, talk about shades of Bianka and Brad’s date in Paris….walking through the streets, they had coffee at a café, these two are having dinner on the piazza. But in all seriousness, these two really looked like they were connecting and a lot of their conversations were mirrored…like they were in sync or something. Through their conversation, he revealed that in a way he’s worried about falling for someone then in the end he gets shut down. Now if I was to read between the lines here, it sounded like he needed her to reassure him that she wouldn’t…. but she immediately did try to make him feel better by saying that it was really nice to hear that softer side of him as he does come across as being really confident. In an ITM, he states how he never thought that he could open up that much and that something really just changed in her and him. He goofily/tauntingly said to her that he has a surprise for her….you can tell that he’s busting and can’t wait to spill. Reaching into his bags of tricks there, he brought out a box and stated that since she makes him feel special, he kind of wanted to do the same as he plunks down a box in front of her. Opening it up, we can see it is diamond earings and necklace from Michael Hill Jewlers. You can tell that she is super touched as she states in an ITM that she’s never gotten a gift this lovely. After putting on the necklace onto Trisha, we get an ITM from Tim of how special it was. Next we see the two of them strolling through the streets till they come across a square where there is an organ player. It is here where they get to share a romantic dance together. In an ITM we hear Trish talking about how romantic the date was, how happy she is and how she thinks that she’s falling in love with Tim. Amazingly, he too states in an ITM of how romantic the date was, how it took them to a whole other level and that it’s the most romantic date that he’s ever been on in his life. Maybe we found our matchup this season?? My only complaint about their date…is that it wasn’t long enough.
Back at the casa, the next date card arrives….A picture perfect date awaits…Tim. Going on the date are Kaylynn, April and Lisa. Again, we get several ITM’s from the women of how bad Lisa is to be around, the problems there and it is extremely obvious that the women aren’t impressed with her at all. The next day it comes to light of how Lisa made out with the bartender at the bar, and this is while she’s still there to date Tim….IMO, not classy at all. We get numerous ITM’s from the rest of the women about it. I guess there was a major cafuddle there…the women went out to a bar on an off night from filming and Lisa ends up kissing a guy in the bar. SO…does this mean she really has no intentions of being there for a good ending??
The women arrive for their date and find that they will be painting a portrait of Tim. The “winner” gets some extra time with Tim. In the meantime, we are getting ITM’s from the other women regarding Lisa’s indiscretions and how that makes them all feel.
Meanwhile, back at the casa, the next date card arrives for Sachelle. Trish is the one to get it and read it out. “Together we’ll create a slice of heaven….Tim”. Sachelle was so happy and really looking forward to her date. In the meantime though, both were remarking how happy they weren’t on the date today with all that’s going on with Lisa.
Back on the date, the three women are still painting their pictures, but come judgement time, Tim chose Lisa’s painting which gave her extra time….shocker…NOT. Makes you feel that the producers know what’s going on with the group and knows that she needs time with Tim. Hmmm, will she be honest with Tim though…that’s the question.
Kaylynn and Lisa come back to the mansion and this is when Sachelle and Trish find out that it’s Lisa that gets the extra time with Tim.
Back with Lisa and Tim, they arrive on a rooftop in the town to watch the sunset and chat. During their time there on the rooftop, it’s obvious that Tim has that questioning face on. In the end, she does talk her way out of it and they share a kiss before leaving the rooftop and arriving back at the casa. Sitting down on the bench outside, she tells him that the night in the bar, the server/bartender did the whole two kiss thing and then grabbed her and kissed her. We hear in an ITM of how it just happened and not her fault, yada, yada. Yet we the viewers know what actually happened straight from the other women who were actually there and saw it. Hmm, do we all think she’s gonna get away with this??
The next day is Sachelle’s date. She along with the other girls are waiting for Tim to arrive and pick her up. In an ITM we hear how she’s going to let him know what’s going on. Once they arrive at the Buitoni Castle, they receive a pizza cooking lesson from one of their chefs. Once they finished cooking their pizzas, they went outside to a table already set up for them. This is where Sachelle opens up to Tim about Lisa and her indiscretion at the bar. When Sachelle tells Tim about Lisa making out with a guy and having to pull her away from him to turn around a few minutes later and see them making out once more…it’s obvious how shocked at it that Tim is. Keep in mind, he never got that version from Lisa….I say “that” version, which is the truth as we are being told by the women that were there in the bar. It’s obvious that he finally heard the truth, but now what will he do?
At the Rose Ceremony, the women are gathered awaiting Tim’s arrival. Since roses weren’t handed out on the dates, all four are to be handed out here. Trish, Sachelle, April and before handing out the last rose, he took Lisa aside for a chat. Upon his return, he handed out the last rose to Lisa….WAIT. Lisa actually talked herself out of that one! What the hay?? Let’s not get too discouraged as it looks like the drama continues next week as Tim confronts Lisa in the park.
Well, that’s all for this week folks. Next week is hometown dates and by the looks of things, they will be a doozy. Mind you, they’d be boring if it wasn’t.
EPISODE 7
Bachelor Canada: Hometown Dates
Well, another week in and we are finally going to get to know more about the four remaining women...er make that three. More on that later.
First up, we have Brad in Toronto and we are finding more of what`s going on in his mind with regards to Lisa. He’s looking forward to seeing the women and getting to know them better.
First up is Trisha. She is waiting for Tim in front of the Argyll Arena in an Edmonton Oilers Jersey. After pointing out her jersey of 99 for Gretzky, she hands his to him…Tim Warmels, #5. After getting another kiss they head inside and lace up their skates. Getting onto the ice, Trisha does skate so that impresses Tim that he isn’t having to be the one that has to pick her up(that would be me actually, but hey…this isn’t about me…thankfully). They skate around for a bit, then Tim “shows” off a bit by skating fast to Trish and putting the brakes on and thereby giving her a shower. In an ITM, we get from Tim that what he likes about Trisha is that she lets him be himself which is hard to find. They have lots of laughs and fun. After they finish skating around, we get Trisha admitting in an ITM about how she’s in love with him but we also get how she’s scared to say it. Heading over to meet up with the family, we get Tim stating in an ITM that he’s nervous to meet the family which catches him off guard as he really didn’t think he would be. Pulling up in front of the house, the family comes out to greet them. It’s grandpa that is the first to greet Trish and finally Tim gets a chance to meet the rest. Sitting down for dinner, it’s easy to see where Trisha gets her “funny-bone” from as Grandpa steals the show. When dinner was done, Trish and her mom head into the kitchen to talk. I am getting flashbacks to Bianka’s HTD here….could it end the same? The mom wants to know a little more about Tim and when Trisha said that he makes me feel special, then it is asked what happens next. Trish says that first there is a rose ceremony coming up and again she gets the doubts as to whether she will be able to stay on after the ceremony or not. Her mom says that she won’t be coming home, but you can see that she’s still really worried about that. When Trish and Tim went outside to say goodnight, you can see that Trish wants to say something to Tim. Plucking up her courage, she says that even though it is hard for her to say her feelings, she wants him to know that she’s falling for him. He immediately said that he fell for her a long time ago which seemed to take her aback. WOW, yea, I know. As a blogger, you aren’t supposed to share your feelings as you are just supposed to share what happened, but WOW, I got the “warm-fuzzies” just like I did on Brad and Bianka’s HTD. After sharing a few long kisses, we leave them as they are still in their embrace and kissing.
Next one for hometowns is Sachelle. Sachelle is waiting at the Billy Bishop airport for Tim but finds out that the plane won’t be leaving till later as it is too foggy. After they greet one another….no kisses upon greeting, she tells him the plane is grounded but the whole date is ruined. Tim states that they should just check out some of Toronto while they wait for the plane. Seeing that taxi pull up brings me back to about 25 yrs ago when I lived in Toronto area and spend some time in that kind of a color scheme on a cab..LOL. They pull over and take a walk through the park before stopping at an outdoor coffee shop for a sit down and chat. They then head back to the Billy Airport to catch the plane to her hometown. Entering their home, he finds out that he’s meeting her brother, sister/fiancé, mom and dad. After sitting down, they start chatting and the family admits that they checked out an interview or two before meeting him that day. Already I am getting a YIKES vibe off her brother. He doesn’t look like a happy camper as they sit in that group. In Sudbury, the heat is picking up as the questions begin to flow. Sachelle’s dad is the first one to talk to Tim alone. It didn’t last long till “brother” showed up and made such a tension in the room, you could cut it with a knife. The hard questions and tension kept coming and you can tell from Tim’s expression that he could hardly wait to get away from the guy. After going out to say goodbye to the family, Tim and Sachelle headed outside to say goodbye. Sharing a sweet kiss, Tim got in his vehicle and left.
Up next…April
April is down on the shoreline waiting for Tim. She is talking of how she needs to tell him her story as she can see herself marrying him so she needs to start trusting him. Tim is driving to the beach and says that he needs to know that she can trust him too… when he arrives, he runs down the hill towards her and they share a kiss. Going for a walk on the beach, they stop and she tells him about her dad dying of an overdose and she’s not close to her mom so Tim will be meeting her grandparents, aunts and uncle. Tim states in an ITM of how he realizes that the walls she had up aren’t so daunting anymore. Heading into the Barcellos Restaurant(one that her grandparents owned) he gets introduced to her grandparents, two aunts, one uncle and two best friends. April’s Yayas seems like a tough cookie and Tim states in an ITM of how he knows how important she is to April so he’s got to win her over. One of April’s aunts asked if this was like at first sight, Tim says no, but it was when they first talked. It was obvious that by the end of dinner he had won the family over. When Tim and April went outside to say goodbye, she quickly admits that she’s falling for him. They share some kisses before she watches Tim drive away. Tim admits in an ITM that in that moment, he was falling for her so hard.
Lisa’s is the last HTD. In an ITM, he admits that he’s going into this date with some serious reservations. He arrives at the date locale where he gives Lisa a hug before they head off and walk in the park. They sit down on a bench and Tim asks her again what happened last week. She won’t come clean as she says that she already told him. He starts off saying that he can see her totally falling for her, they’d travel, and maybe even convince her to move to Toronto to be with him….and of course we get a commercial. LOL. Coming back, he admits that he doesn’t think he could meet her parents in good faith and is calling it quits right now. In an ITM, she immediately tries to throw the other girls under the bus blaming them for her idiocies in Italy when she ends up kissing a guy, not only once but several times and even Sachelle had to pull her off of him.
Back in Toronto, we get glimpses of Tim actually maybe saying goodbye to another too at the rose ceremony.
April arrives first, followed by Trisha and Sachelle. At the rose ceremony, Trisha is wearing the earrings that Tim gave her in Italy. It is Trisha that notices that there is only 2 roses sitting on the podium and Lisa isn’t there. Again, Trish like many of the rose ceremonies, looks apprehensive and worried.
When Tim comes out, he states that Lisa won’t be there for the RC and that there are only two roses to hand out as he doesn’t want to lead anyone on. April gets the first rose followed by Trisha, which leaves Sachelle heading home. When Tim comes back to the ladies, he tells them that they are going to Tahiti next.
But first, we get to see the Women Tell All. That looks like it will be a “juicy” episode. Maybe we will finally learn(along with Tim) exactly what happened in Italy.
A few things of note this episode:
--- for all HTD’s except Trisha’s, we actually see Tim drive off from the home.
--- Tim really seemed affected by Trisha’s confession about falling for him.
--- Tim gave equal kissing time to Trisha and April.
--- Tim admits to being nervous going to Trisha’s family but doesn’t admit to being nervous at anyone else’s.
---Trisha’s HTD = 8 min, 10 sec commercial free------Sachelle: 1 commercial 10 min, 10 sec-----April: 1 commercial 8min 30 seconds-----Lisa: 5 min 26 sec. All of those times are actual running times of the dates, not including the commercials.
EPISODE 8
Bachelor Canada Finale: Part 1
Tim and the ladies landed on the island of Moorea where they are to enjoy some romantic overnight dates and also get a chance to meet Tim’s parents. What’s meet the parents without a little drama included? Tonight’s episode was a drama fest for sure.
But first, let’s start off with Tim and the women arriving at the island and their overnight dates. First up is Trish.
She’s standing in a field, waiting for Tim to arrive when she sees him rounding the bend with a couple of horses in tow. Getting on the horses, Trish finds out how wild they could be as the one that she’s on continually wants to head out in front or back into the pineapple grove as quick as it can. When they finally reach their destination, there is a picnic laying out in front of them. Laying down, they have a chance to express to each other their feelings and their fears. Just before we break to yet again, another Rimmel commercial, we get to see them sharing some sweet kisses.
The next time we catch up to Trish and Tim, they are sitting overlooking the Tahitian sunset and enjoy some dinner together. Towards the end of their dinner, Tim presents her with the fantasy date card. You can see that Trish is slightly apprehensive, but also knows that this is the next step. As she’s looking at Tim, you can finally see her nod her head and looking at Tim’s face, instantly he looks relieved and eagerly gets up to take her hand and direct her to their suite. On their way to their suite, we hear an ITM from Trish saying that she has no reservations about spending the night with him and she doesn’t think that April feels as sure about Tim as she does. The last thing we see is the door closing behind them as the light gets turned off.
The next day is April’s date and once again we hear Tim say that he wants to know if she can trust him. Since he’s said this almost each episode, it really makes me wonder if that is just the edit or could there be another reason, like it’s something that he needs from her and she just can’t/won’t give it to him. In an ITM as they make their way out to the yacht, she says that the thought of him keeping Trish after making me feel so confident in our connection is what makes her afraid to just let go. Sharing a glass of champagne, they get ready to jump off the railing of the yacht. Getting to the railing, we hear in an ITM from Tim that he just didn’t realize how scared she was with heights. They swim towards shore, pausing along the way to share a kiss and embrace.
Back on the yacht, Tim and April are sitting down to more champagne and dinner. In an ITM, we hear Tim express how important the dinner is as he’s about to propose to someone and he says he can’t do that if that person doesn’t trust him. He’s hoping tonight she’ll take that ultimate leap of faith. One of the most telling ITM’s for me tonight was how time passes, he’s been with someone else and things change….again, is that another editing tidbit or foreshadowing another possible event?? Another ITM that stands out is the point of how she’s got to be able to feel that it’s worth it and he’s got to be able to trust in that. Again foreshadowing problems ahead?? While having dinner, Tim presents her with the Fantasy Suite card as well. When she accepts, they head down below to their state room in the yacht.
Next up are the meet the parents….Trish is the first one to meet Tim’s mom, Margaret and dad Peter. Instantly the three of them hit it off. The whole while they are sitting there, Tim is caressing Trisha’s knee, arm and just wanting to have full hands on contact with her. He seems so comfortable with his parents and Trish talking. In very short period of time, Marg wanted to take Trish out for a chat. After one serious question that obviously Trish aced and that broke the ice with her. When it came to answering her next question, Trish had no problem at all answering: What is the one thing that makes you most happy when you are with Tim? As Trish is answering it, you can see Marg relax as if she’s hit the nail on the head. Trish remarks that she feels that there’s not another person in the world and they are all that matters; that they could be in a cardboard box in the middle of the field and they’d make fun with it and they’d be all right. As they say good bye, you can tell how warm they all feel. The thing that I noticed the most is that when they left the parents, they left hand in hand and shared a very strong emotional kiss before saying goodbye.
Next up is April’s time to meet the parents. Right off the bat, the different downer music that is happening, how April is bringing the drama again, what a sharp contrast to Trisha’s time with Tim’s parents. When Tim and April met up to go to the parents, they never kissed and the drama meter was already on the rise. When she arrived to meet the mom and dad, no hugs, no warmth, just a shake of their hands. What a contrast to how Trish was with them. Right from the very first question that Peter asked her being what she liked about Tim. She just couldn’t answer him. She didn’t want to really make eye contact, eyes skirting the whole room… Something really feels off with this meeting for sure. Tim was sitting back, not really hands on with her as he was showing his affection towards Trish with his parents watching. When he did caress April’s arm at one time, it was obvious that April wasn’t comfortable at all with it. WOW, this is so awkward and painful to watch. There were so many comments on twitter tonight about this MTP, I’m afraid to open up that ball of wax. Let’s just say that it didn’t go un-noticed as many really couldn’t see how Tim and April could end up after that meeting.
Marg took April aside to talk to her as she did with Trish and once again asked her what she liked about Tim. This time, April was able to communicate better, but it was still really strained. The main comment that Marg made in an itm at the end of their chat is that she wonders about April’s maturity and if she’d be able to take on the daunting task of marriage. Heading back to where the guys are, you can still feel the tension in the room. Shaking hands once again and saying goodbye, Tim walked her out of the bungalow and immediately said goodbye as she walked away. No kiss goodbye, no hug, no nothing.
Tim heads back inside to talk to his parents where he gets their points of view. When he asks, what’s the difference between the two, he got the point that they thought Trish was a lot more comfortable in her own skin and outgoing. With April, she brings different things but in the end, the only thing that they want is that he finds someone that will put up with you, you get along with and you follow your heart. In the end, they were able to share a hug and some warm moments.
Next we see April walking the beach alone in the same dress that she wore to meet the parents and she’s really breaking down. The very next thing we get is Tim telling us that someone told him that April’s not going ok and it’s really not good as he’s standing outside her door. We are getting ITM’s from April saying that Tim wants to talk through it, but as far as she’s concerned, there is nothing to say…she’s done and just wants to go home. In the end, the last thing we hear is that she COULD be giving up on love but she just wants to go home. AND….we get the big to be continued on our screens so what I got to ask you all….do you think she’s going home? If she stays, who do you think Tim will choose….the bubbly, loving Trish or April whose showing signs of having a really hard time with this process? We would love to know your thoughts…as you can leave your comments below!
Now, from my perspective having watched the season, and watching season one, here’s a few thoughts I have had.
This season has been weird in a lot of ways. On one hand with Tim only taking two women to the overnight date stage; but on the other hand, this season is being edited very similar to season one. In Season one, Brad’s efforts to get Whit to open up, trust him, show her affection and tell him what she wants…This season, that seems to of been transferred to April and Tim, even including the feel in a way as they both seem to be really working at what they do have and the tension that seems to be there sometimes, it shows. Even how the MTP time went…it was extremely stressful and hard to get through too where as with Brad and Bianka, their love flowed, hardly did they have a problem and in each date, they seemed to go right back to where they left off with no steps backwards in their relationship. That has been transferred to Tim and Trish…the easy going nature of their relationship, loving and how the family and Trish clicked right off the bat.
It will be really interesting to see how this ends up….will Tim want the fun-loving and easy nature of a relationship that he seems to have with Trish or go for the tension and have to work for his relationship that he has with April. For now, he’s the only one who knows and us at the Rose are looking forward to seeing where this goes next week. Hope you join us then for the finale as we will have a tribute package up for the final couple.
EPISODE 9
Bachelor Canada Season 2 Finale
Well, another season comes to an end tonight as we join Tim, Trisha and April on the island of Moorea in Tahiti. In part one, we saw Tim and his final two enjoying overnight dates together before meeting Tim’s parents. Part two saw Tim have a last chance date with his final two, but not before we continue with the drama that was started last episode when we were shown that April wants to leave.
In April’s hotel room, we see her and Tim trying to talk things out and in the end, Tim convinces her to stay for a little while longer.
The next time we see them is on their last date together in Tahiti...they arrive on the beach at sunrise and have a chance to talk things through. Before they meet up though, we are getting an ITM from Tim saying that he’s so confused because of April’s meltdown the night before and he doesn’t know where that leaves them. Immediately afterwards, we also get an ITM from April who says that watching the sunrise that morning, she feels so much better and is now calm. They were able to share some quiet time on the beach and some sweet kisses before they parted and April handed Tim a note. In the note, she was saying how she will live in the moment and tomorrow will end as it should.
Trisha is next....before Tim goes to meet her, we get an ITM from him saying how he’s looking forward to seeing her and since there’s really nothing else that he needs to know, he just wants to spend time with her. Meanwhile, we see Trisha waiting for Tim at a lookout. In her ITM, she says that all she’s looking forward to is to spend time with Tim as well. When they finally meet up, they share a huge hug before walking over to the fence and see the view in front of them. Trisha informs Tim about the tradition of putting locks on the fence, much like the bridge in Paris. Tim says for her to place the lock, then he will remove the key. When they were done, he threw the key into the bush and in an ITM, we hear him say that he thought that he and Trisha may return in 10 years. They share some sweet kisses before leaving the lookout area.
Next we see Michael Hill Jeweler arriving with rings for Tim to choose from. Displaying a whole platform of rings, Tim finally picks a three karat solitaire ring that has diamonds on the band and a pink heart imbedded into the band. It is absolutely gorgeous. After the Jeweller leaves, we see Tim on the dock admiring the ring he just chose and him stating in an ITM that he still has doubts that who he chooses, will say yes to the proposal.
Next thing we see is Trisha getting ready for the FRC. As she is getting ready, we hear in an ITM from her stating how the nerves are setting in and she’s really hoping that it is her that he chooses. She really wants her fairytale to begin.
We join April as she too is getting ready. She woke up that morning really excited that she may have a fiancé by the end of the day. Getting her makeup on and getting dressed in her Dahlia McPhee dress, we see her full of smiles and waiting for her turn to arrive at the FRC location. In her ITM, she states that she now knows that she can finally trust him and he’s the guy that she’s wanting to spend her life with.
First to arrive at the final rose ceremony location is Trish. When Tim saw her, it was obvious that he was taken aback with her dress and how she looked. After a big hug, they pull apart and Trish tells him that she’s so grateful for being at the end with him. Tim begins to sweet talk her about what he’s liked about them, how he could totally see a life with her, but in the end, she’s just not the one that he wants as his heart is with someone else. Trish looks rejected, but at the same time, handles it all with grace and class as Tim walks her back up to the limo that is now waiting for her. Once inside the limo though as they take her away, she breaks down and shows her emotions.
As April arrives, you can see how overcome that Tim is with her. Helping her up onto the platform, we hear April profess that through all of this she fell in love with Tim. When she was done, she sheepishly asked him if she could kiss him yet. Erupting into laughter, he claims no. It’s Tim’s turn to tell her how he feels. He admits that it was during April’s hometown date that he fell in love with her. Getting down on one knee, he asks April to marry him and of course, she was eager to do so. Putting the ring on her finger, both were so happy. The last we see is the two of them standing on the shore watching the sunset.
After the Final Rose:
Of course the first part of the ATFR was pretty stressful for Tim as he once again met up with Trisha for the first time since the FRC in Tahiti. Trisha first came out on her own though as she and Tyler talked about her experience on the show and how she’s doing now.
When Tim did come out on stage, once again, Trisha showed her class as she was very pleasant with Tim and even said that when watching the season back, she could even see the connection that Tim and April had.
When Trisha was done, it was time for Tim and Tyler to talk for a while. Tyler brought out the questions as Tim was asked some questions by the fans including the one where they wanted to know what kind of underwear Tim wears. When he admitted that he goes commando, of course the audience went wild. LOL. When the “interrogation” was over, it was time to reunite the couple.
When April came out on stage, it was obvious how eager they both were to get to see one another again(not that I believe they haven’t previously had private visits). Sitting down, things were pretty easy from here on out as all that was shown was a look back to their journey together. It was also mentioned that they have plans for a wedding, but that was all we got of course.
Well, I just want to thankyou all for staying tuned throughout the season and hope you enjoyed the blogs. I will be back again in January for Chris’s season as Bachelor Season 19 returns on January 5th. Until then, check out Chris’s forum as well as the spoilers/sleuthing forum.

EPISODE 1
Bachelor Canada: Premiere
Tonight was the start of a brand new era for Canada…..The Bachelor has moved north! Brad is an ex CFL football player from Quebec. Parents been married for over 40years, and still in love which has given him something to look forward to, considering if it works for them, it could work for him. His father is a Canadian Senator and a professional football player himself. In 2005, his best friend committed suicide, then 18 months later, his other best friend he’s known his whole life, died in a firefighting accident and he grew up quickly. He’s decided to grow up and change, and along with that, he is now ready for this whole process.
The first few shows were filmed in and around Victoria, including the mansion near Bear Mountain. You can find screencaps of the mansion HERE(PUT THIS LINK IN:
First up, we are given a look at some of the women that are vying for Brad’s affections starting with; Mindy, Kara, Rebecca AK Bubba, Bianka, Whitney, Chantelle, and Melissa Marie. After the introductions were done, Brad shows up at the mansion and meets up with Tyler Harcott, the host of the Bachelor. As the two of them meet up and start discussing why Brad wants to do this, we get to know a little more of him as well. Once the women begin showing up, the notables are: Jessica with her pompoms and a cheer, Whitney with her massive hug and the first “Oh Shit” out of Brad, Mindy with her hiking boots, Clarice with her feather dress, Britany who put a bandaid over his heart with her name on it, Bubba who shows up in her ‘50’s retro polkadot dress and her entrance into the house on the wrong door, Amber who shows up on a motorbike with her dress trailing behind her, Bianka who obviously got him tongue-tied and a WOW, Tina in her old Hudson Bay rainbow style dress, Gabrielle with her tata’s hanging out and the slit in the dress going up to you know where, and finally Kara who threw out a baseball to Brad.
When all the women are inside, Brad is joined again by Tyler and told about the first impression rose. When Brad does finally get inside, he first does a toast to the night and then is bombarded by the women, all wanting their time with him. Gabrielle was the first vulture……immediately she got possessive and took him outside for some one on one time. It never got better from there as when he finally got seated with one lady, another one was swooping in for her time with him as well. Finally we were shown him having some good quality time with Whitney and him telling her bits of his life.
Back inside, Tyler brings in the first impression rose and like a magnet, most of the women were staring at the rose now…..so funny! Finally Bianka gets some time alone with Brad and has a chance to tell him about her being a nurse and it is obvious that Brad is into her. Meanwhile, Chantelle and Melissa Marie get into a conversation about the women in the room with fake boobie’s; hmmm, well, guess enough said there.
Chantelle finally gets her alone time with Brad and tells him about her pastoral life, going into small communities and finding kids that can’t afford to go to summer camps. She and her group takes them to camp and has a book with her that some of the kids wrote in with regards to advice in finding love. Here’s one: “When you are in love, you can’t fall asleep because your reality is finally better than your dreams.” Brad seemed impressed with her as well as he stated that how she is a mentor, it draws him to her even more.
When Brad finally gets time alone with Ana, Rebecca and others join them, and when Brad thinks things can’t get worse, we get Mindy taking him away. That of course brings out the “love” for her that Rebecca has…..and if you hadn’t guessed, I am trying to be sarcastic there…LOL.
Just when Brad thinks that he’s hit the last drama curve of the night, Tyler shows up and tells him that there is one more bachelorette showing up in the next limo arriving in the drive now. Brad leaves the women inside and heads out to the drive where the mystery woman……AKA Jillian Harris from Bachelor and Bachelorette USA shows up. Not as another lady to add to his roster, but she is there to give some advice. Jillian looked great when she climbed out of the limo. Yes, she looks different but still wonderful!!
As she takes the women outside to interview by the fire, eventually, I am sure she interviewed all of them but the most interesting interviews came when Gabrielle and Whitney were outside with Jill. Let’s put it this way; both had some things to say, and both were trying to outdo the other one. Finally Jillian had a chance to sit with Brad and tell him about the women that are there. Mindy, Chantelle and Britany; Chantelle is cute as a button – really positive and she loved her, Mindy may be more in the friends zone. Next three are Kara, Whitney and Gabrielle; all three are very confident. Now with the first impression rose, which one are you not ready to let go of yet, that is the one to give it to is Jillian’s advice.
On that note, Brad comes back into the mansion, grabs the rose and takes Whitney outside. After sitting down and getting bundled under the blanket, he tells her that when she stepped out of the limo, he was floored and asked her to accept his first rose. Once they shared his first kiss of the season, they hugged some more before going back inside.
As soon as Gabrielle gets her chance, she digs into Whitney and calling her kissing Brad a skanky thing to do, well, never mind. Don’t think you all want to hear what I thought on that….carrying on; Gabrielle wasn’t going to let it drop and continually got on Whitney’s case about the kiss. Finally, Tyler comes and saves Brad from the night by taking him to Brad’s deliberation room where he see’s all the women’s pictures lined up in front of him.
When Brad came back out, the women were lined up for the Rose Ceremony. Since Whitney already had the first impression rose, Brad gave out the rest of the roses to: Bianka, Sophie, Tia, Michelle V., Nicole, Chantelle, Britany, Laura B., Michelle B., Laura F., Stephanie, Melissa Marie, Gabrielle, Kara. Then knowing he wanted to give out one more, he brought another rose back and gave it to Ana. So that makes 16 women moving onto the rest of the season.
At the end, we were given previews to the coming season and an inkling to the destinations that they would go through on their journey. Tofino, Victoria, Prince Edward Island, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Paris and a tropical destination undetermined.
EPISODE 2
Bachelor Canada: Seaplanes, Heli’s and SPEED
Tonight’s epi began with the girls arriving at the mansion on Bear’s Mountain in Victoria where they will stay for the duration of their stay in Victoria. After they all come flying into the mansion, choose the bed that they want to be in, they then open up their gift baskets with a ton of products in them....like razors, cream, makup, etc.
Immediately we are transported to part deux of Whitney and Gabrielle bashing each other in the ITM’s, but what else is new, this is The Bachelor...LOL.
After the women get settled in and with coffee in hand, hang out while Tyler the host comes in with their first date card for the week. He tells the women that there is a eight on one, a four on one and a one on one dates this week. Chantelle gets the date card and reads it out: The big Easy is calling and the following ladies are going on the date: Melissa Marie, Laura F, Michelle V, Tia, Michelle B, Britany, Bianka and Chantelle. The women immediately head in to give their legs some “love” as their date card directed them and then get packed for their date.
When they are ready, they head out of the house to find Brad waiting for them. He tells the women that they are heading to New Orleans and sounded kind of surprised that the women didn’t pick up on the “big easy” comment as that is what New Orleans nickname....sheesh, now this must date me as I know that phrase well, heard it many times. LOL.
When they arrive there, they take a walk down Bourbon Street and enter a famous hotel, Royal Sonesta, where Brad surprises them with a burlesque show. When Trixi finished, she announced to the women that they will be attending a burlesque bootcamp. The looks on the women’s faces was priceless! Trixi informs the ladies that burlesque acts aren’t about stripping but the allusion of it. After going through a boot camp on how to do the dance, she tells them another secret...do what you can, but be true to yourself. Then she brings in the outfits for the women to get dressed in. When they were getting dressed, we got an ITM from Laura F, who said that the best outfit in her opinion was worn by Bianka. When all the women were ready, Trixi directed them to go back stage and one at a time, they would be announced to do a burlesque for Brad.
Brad states in an ITM before the show starts that he’s looking forward to seeing what they come up with and what he wants to see most of all is for them to come out of their shells.
Melissa Marie was the first one out and the dance was really weird....as some of the ladies said, when she has been a playboy model, they thought she would of had this in the bag, but not so much. Next out was Michelle V., followed by Bianka whom Brad mouthed WOW again, just as he did on night one when she left him standing in the driveway. Up next was Tia, followed by Michelle B whom he seemed to enjoy, then Laura F came out on stage and used the feathers; let say not to her advantage as Brad said that was all she was using. Britany was up next and out of the ones so far that we saw, I thought she had the most rythmn to it.
Meanwhile, back at the mansion, the next date card arrives and Whitney is the first one to find it. Bringing it inside and reading it out; Feeling lucky? In this race, winner takes all.....Sophie, Kara, Gabrielle, and Whitney get this date. Immediately Whitney begins to rub the women wrong, and then in her ITM, she began to rub me wrong by saying that there is no competition for her in the house.....good grief.
Up next was Chantelle; she is the one that was fearing the date the most, yet when she did her act, she really went about it the right way by staying true to herself. In an ITM, Brad stated how he knows that she went completely out of her comfort zone to do this burlesque act and completely won him over with the cuteness of her.
When all the acts were done, Brad took the women back to his hotel room where they had drinks and are able to talk. Once everyone gets settled in, it is obvious that Melissa Marie is having problems with the day. She claims it is because of missing her daughter. Brad is sitting out with another lady when Melissa comes outside and interrupts their time and sits down with Brad. IMO, he looks intimidated a bit by her and says at the end of the day, he just wants someone to be themselves around him. When she herself gets interrupted by Tia, let`s face it, Melissa doesn`t take too well to it. Chantelle is the next one to have some time with Brad. When she finally got up to him, he gave her a long hug. It really impressed him. He told her that the little book she gave him on night one, he really appreciated it. Then when he talked to her, he said that when they made up the dates and decided whom was going to go on them he knew of her history and her values but she came to the date and did it so well by putting herself out there in a situation that she normally wouldn’t. She immediately sounded touched that he is making this big of a deal of her on this date. He excused himself and as he was going inside to get the rose, you could see his expression. He looked to be quite taken by her. Coming back out, and handing the rose to her, he said that not only are you the cutest person I have ever met, but you have the kindest heart and would you please accept the rose.....prompting a great hug again. In an ITM right after that, he said that with some people you start with a physical attraction and some with the personality, but with her, you are automatically in love with who she is as a person. Immediately after this, we get more whining from Melissa once again as she takes Brad out of the room to talk to him one more time.
Next up, Brad takes the four ladies to Vegas where they race to win an extension to their date while the rest go back to the mansion. Up first to race is Sophie, then Kara, then Gabrielle and finally Whitney. The usual estrogen packed ITM’s are included all through this with Whitney actually getting pretty brutal. IMO, on night one, I thought that Gabrielle was a you know what, but tonight, I think she’s traded places with Whitney. Wonder what made the difference in their editing or if Whitney just came out of her shell more, but OUCH! Don’t know why, but both Whitney and Gabrielle seem to be the lightening rod for the other as far as bitchyness went. The race panned out as: Fourth to Kara, Third to Gabrielle, Second to Sophie and first to Whitney with only a 1/10th second difference in their speeds.
Back at the mansion, the next date card arrives....Get ready for glamour, you’ll look gorgeous and grand with a sparkling surprise that is a gift from your man...Laura B. Ana looked upset about not getting the individual date and Nicole said so in an ITM of how she got the “pitty” rose on night one.
Back in Vegas, Brad and Whitney have boarded the heli and are taking a tour of Vegas, afterwhich, they went to a restaurant for their dinner stopping at the fountain for a kiss along the way. In an ITM, Brad said it got comfortable right off the bat and Whitney is someone he looks forward to spending more time with.
Back at the mansion, Chantelle and Melissa Marie are talking about general chit chat since they seemed to of connected right from night one, but then the conversation turned to how both of them are scared to tell Brad things as they worry that he may not want that with each of them being on the opposite end of the scale. Then Chantelle told Melissa that she’s a virgin. Immediately you could see Melissa’s face changing. Then in an ITM, Melissa said that Chantelle should tell Brad that she’s a virgin as it is something that would scare the crap out of most guys....hmmmm.
The next day Kara heads outside and finds a box with an envelope on it for Laura. Taking it back through the mansion to the pool out back where the women are, Laura opens the box up to find a gorgeous blue and white dress. Inside she continues to get ready for her date with Brad. When Brad arrives, he states in an ITM of how he’s looking forward to their date as it will be an elegant one but simple at the same time. When Laura does make an appearance, you can see that it visibly affects Brad. He holds up a jewelry box and when she reaches to touch it, he does the pretty woman stunt and snaps it shut. After which, he puts the necklace on her stating that she gets to keep it. When the necklace was on, you can visibly see how ticked off Whitney was with it, then in an ITM, she states that she doesn’t know if Laura knows how lucky she is and how that should of been her....WHAT? Really? You just spent alone time with him the night before flying over Vegas...wow.
Laura and Brad take off for their date in Victoria, stopping off first at the fountain in front of the Parliament Buildings, then walking along the waterfront to a vendor where he draws a portrait of them and when they are done, Brad exclaims that he looks like Alec Baldwin as they look at their comical portrait. They finish off the harbour walkabout by stopping at the water’s edge where they watch the sunset. They walk around the harbour to the Fairmont Empress Hotel, an iconic hotel for British Columbia with all of it’s history dating back to 1908 when it was opened. The Empress became well known for it’s afternoon tea complete with all the snacks. It was designated a National Historic site in Canada in 1981, and guests such as Queen Elizabeth, King George the 6th, and Shirley Temple have graced the halls of the Empress over the years.
When Laura and Brad arrived, they walked out onto the front veranda overlooking the harbour, parliament buildings and the Royal BC Museum right beside them to enjoy their dinner by sunset. As they ate their meals (yes, ate them. In the USA version, they rarely show the dates eating the food) they talked about having kids, what they want in life and at the end of their dinner, Brad gave her the rose before they went inside where he surprised her with a private date with Jill Barber, a Canadian singer. With them dancing away, we see a full moon rising.
Next up, Brad surprises Ana
He arrives at the mansion and heads inside where he finds Ana, wakes her up and they leave the mansion before 6am where they head to the seaplane dock in the harbour. They fly off to Tofino where they spend a long walk on the beach. Ana is able to tell him about her mom and her passing away from Cancer. After their quick walk on one beach(I think may be Chesterman’s) they head to Wickaninish Beach where Brad and her sit down on a Hudson’s Bay Company Blanket...another Canadian iconic symbol; for a picnic complete with Molson Canadian beer. As stated in an ITM, it is a quick turnaround visit as they have to rush back for the rose ceremony that night.
When Brad does arrive for the cocktail party, it is obvious that Melissa is already hyped out as she went to go out to talk to Brad and when she found out that Chantelle and he just sat down to talk, she wasn’t impressed but headed back inside anyways. Just after they came inside, Brad was talking to a group of girls when Melissa came up to him and said really loudly “too scared to talk to me Brad.” You could see him immediately look up and kinda look scared too...lol. Then he vocally said “feisty today, eh?” and of course Melisa says who me....he immediately didn’t hold back, just said yea, wow as he took a drink of his champagne. Melisa and Brad then heads outside to have some private time, or was it more of him walking out into the firing range as she immediately dove into the questions. You can see him visibly taken aback by it. Walking back into the house, he made another comment to her that she really got her points across there, then Holy at the end.....something tells me he just isn’t that into her....LOL.
The next one that has Brad in her sights is Whitney. The two of them head outside for some private time and some making out. What is wrong or is something that was planned, is that they were in sight of the girls and when Laura went out to try to talk to Brad, she saw them kissing. Laura was visibly upset and a few of the women went into the bathroom to talk to her and help her through it....meanwhile, Brad finds out that she’s that upset and heads in to find her. He convinces her not to leave and gives her a pep talk about how she has nothing to worry about / feel bad about and that he wants her to stay.
Rose ceremony is up next....
When Brad does come back to hand out the roses, Chantelle and Laura B are already safe. He gives the remaining roses to: Kara, Tia, Sophie, Britany, Michelle B., Gabrielle, Whitney, Ana, Nicole and Bianka.
Well, that’s all for this week. I will be back next Wednesday with another Bachelor Canada roundup. It looks like next week will be interesting.
EPISODE 3
Bachelor Canada: Charity fun and Canadian Iconic Dates
Tonight’s episode of the Bachelor began with Tyler’s appearance in the mansion to tell the women what they can expect this week. He tells the girls that there will be a one on one date, 1 five on one date and one six on one dates this week. Of course ALL the women feel they deserve the individual date, but none more than Whitney.
Before leaving, Tyler puts the date card and a box on the table. Britany grabs the card first and reads it out....Here’s a little something to help you saddle up, I will be down to wrangle you up shortly....Kara. She is surprised that she gets the individual date but gladly opens the box to find a jean jacket and cowboy boots. We then get an ITM from Whitney stating how she doesn’t want anyone to get the one on one, but if she has competition from anyone, it would be Kara. We get another ITM from Laura B, who says that she wants to have time with Brad to show him that she’s just not the drama all the time kind of girl since that is what he last saw in her and then another ITM from Nicole stating how since she hasn’t had a date yet, and she wants to get to know the guy, she is really getting discouraged.
We see Kara getting changed into her gear for the day, jeans and jean jacket, then Brad arrives in his deep V-neck shirt and tight jeans(notice I got your tweet into here Brad...LOL) to pick her up. After they head out, the next thing we see is them coming out onto the tarmac and find a heli waiting for them. They take it and are treated to some fab shots of the Rocky Mountains in the background as they make their way out to a ranch in the south-western area of Alberta.
It is on the Highway 3 area, before Pincher Creek:
It is obvious from the look on Brad’s face, he is terrified at what’s waiting for them but excited too. Kara on the other hand seems to be taking the date in her stride and enjoying it. After some training time in the corral, they were taken out into the pastures and directed on how to wrangle the cattle.
Back at the mansion, Nicole is going on again how she has been in the mansion for eighteen days and no date at all. The date card arrives and Tia reads it out: Let’s give more of ourselves and make others smile. Where the days are hot and the nights are wild.....Ana, Bianka, Britany, Gabrielle, and Tia.
Back at the ranch, Brad and Kara are having their dinner in a nicely decorated barn. Through the night they actually got into some great conversation and really ate their dinners. I know I went on about this last week, but let’s face it, in the USA version, you see plates brought to the table and plates taken away, but no one eating them....this is refreshing to see the meals being enjoyed. Brad states in an ITM of how he feels Kara is the most like to him and their values seem to match up well. Before he gave her the rose, part of his speech was to say that no one, no one can back up a horse like Kara. I get the impression that it was an all day occurrence or Brad had troubles doing it, but all the same, his personality really shines through in the comments he makes – Kudo’s Brad!
Brad states from his balcony in Mexico that the women that he’s brought here are the ones that he hasn’t had a chance to get to know well so be brought them here so he can spend more time with them. The women arrive to their rooms in Sayulita, Mexico, apparently happy to be there. They wander into town where they meet up with Brad. After Brad tells them that they are going to help the kids out as this is more of a charity date, they all hop aboard the van and head out to the area where they will meet up with the kids. When they pull up, the kids come running out of a building to meet up with Brad and the women. Brad states how the women are really doing well with the kids, and more so, he’s been able to get a connection going with the women too. With Gabrielle, he thinks that she has a soft spot that she doesn’t like to show much. With Britany, they seem to have a visible connection as well, but with Bianka, he is really having troubles making that connection as he is starting to think that she really doesn’t like him.
Up next, Brad and the women get to have a pool party to round out their date. Let’s just say.... You know the song, itsy, bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini....well, there are no polka dot bikini’s involved, but there are definitely itsy bitsy, teenie weenie ones that leave VERY little to the imagination. YIKES!! Anyhow, now that I got that out of my system.... they all meet up around the pool for a pool party to finish out their date. The women clad in well, not very much and were completely happy when Brad joined their ranks by removing his shirt. Gabrielle was the first one to get some alone time with Brad, followed by Bianka. As Brad stated, he wants to find a way that they can connect because he really wants to, but she is pulling away. When they do sit down, they are engaging with each other, and she finally tells him about her past relationship and how he ended up dating Kim Kardachian. In the end, he tells the women that he is sending four of them home to the mansion and keeping one for a special date tomorrow.....all of them are waiting on baited breath until he says Bianka and you can see the others are crestfallen or looking pretty ticked.
The next day, Brad and Bianka are walking along the walk to the marina where she finds that they are going out onto the yacht. In a PI, he says that with Whitney there is an intensity, with Kara there is an understanding and they can talk on a personal level, but with Bianka, who knows.
Back at the mansion, a date card arrives. Nicole is the one to retrieve it and reads it out: Let the games begin, I can hardly wait, so sharpen those skills for a competitive date......Whitney, Laura, Michelle, Sophia, Chantelle and Nicole.
Back on the yacht, Brad and Bianka are heading out to sea, but are able to discuss a lot of things. One thing that Brad tells her is that he wants to travel the world for a year with the one that he chooses out of this. When they get out to an island, they set the anchor, jump off the boat and swim to the shore where they wander along the beach and lay on blankets set out to discuss some more. Maybe Brad summed up their date best in his last ITM from the date.....she`s an amazing girl and it is one of those situations that give you butterflies, then with a big dimple producing smile, he says yep, it`s there....
In Victoria, Brad meets up with the women at the mansion....he tells us that the women will be competing in teams of three, pinks and blues, for one of the most Canadian experience of all time....They arrive at the Sooke River Campground where they find that they will be competing in a lumberjack competition. After they are directed in the art of lumberjacking through the various events, ie jousting in the water pit, climbing posts to ring the bell, and sawing the logs, they are set loose. First up is Laura B for the blue team against Michelle B for the pink. They are to climb up to the top of the poles, ring the bell at the top using climbing cleats and a rope around them and the pole to help them climb. The winner of that one was Laura. Next up is Whitney and Sophie jousting over the water pit. Whitney was the winner of that one. Let`s say, Whitney is a very competitive person that comes across as very tough and domineering, this time no exception. Finally is the cross cut sawing competition where it is Chantelle and Laura for the blue against Nicole and Michelle for the pink. Of course the first comment we hear is Whitney whining that she would of had that event had she been in it. Okay, but you weren`t and they were, and lost. Is it me or what, it seems like Whitney is coming off as an over bearing personality, but you can`t help but wonder if this is truly her personality or just her being edited as such. Bottom line, blue team gets more time with Brad.
The blue team and Brad leave the challenge and arrive at the Sooke Harbour House where they find Dean Brody waiting for them out on the patio. He sings them a few songs including Canadian Girl which instigates the impromptu dancing and Brad sheepishly stands up and joins. After Dean leaves, the group toasts off with some Canadian beer; Laura is the first one to take Brad aside for some alone time. Of course the first thing covered is her emotional breakdown at the last rose ceremony but as Brad states in an ITM, he doesn’t want to judge someone based on emotional responses to a situation, especially when everything is heightened as it is in this one. When they finish talking, they share some kisses before Chantelle comes down for her time with Brad. She proceeds to tell him that the last person that she was with was four years ago and that is the last kiss she’s had as well. Next up was Sophie, although their conversation wasn’t really shown because they stayed with Chantelle and Laura discussing how Chantelle is a virgin. Immediately Chantelle regrets not telling Brad this and makes her way back down to talk to him one more time. When she does tell him about her virginity, he takes it remarkably well; including saying in an ITM how it is really impressive to him, she’s got guts, and he is impressed with her more and more because of it. Not to mention that she seems to go out of her way to make him feel better about himself.
Next up, we see Brad hanging around out on his balcony at the Westin Bear Mountain Resort where he says that he’s made a major decision tonight that will likely shock some of the girls. At the mansion, we see the women getting ready for the night. When all the women are ready and sitting around the living room area, Tyler comes in to inform the women that there will actually be four of them leaving tonight, which of course sends shock waves through the room. Then Tyler says that there won’t be a cocktail party as Brad has already made his decision.
When all the women are set up and ready for the rose ceremony, Tyler comes back to make his usual speech and introduce Brad. When Brad does arrive, he makes his traditional speech as well; knowing Kara already has a rose, he hands out the remaining roses to: Chantelle, Gabrielle, Britany, Ana, Bianka, Laura, and Whitney. This leaves Michelle, Nicole, Sophie and Tia going home roseless tonight.
It appears that the dates next week involve Paris,
a winery which could be in the south Okanagan Valley/wine country
and what I think will be rock climbing at the Skaha Bluffs just south of Penticton.
EPISODE 4
Bachelor Canada: Photo Shoots, Carriage Rides and Winery Days
Tonight’s episode actually hit close to home for me. I grew up in the Okanagan Valley where the winery/rock climbing date happened for Whitney and Brad and it was really neat to see my hometown area on the “little screen”. Tonight’s episode went from a photo shoot in Victoria to Paris, then back again to the South Okanagan Valley, and back again to Victoria for the Rose Ceremony.
We start off with Brad walking through the vineyard, then at the mansion, Tyler tells the women that there will be four leaving again this week, and that the dates will be a four on one, a two on one, and a one on one. Tyler also tells the ladies that next week will be hometown dates before he drops the first date card on the table and walks out.
Bianka is the first one to pick up the card and read it out....Get ready for a fabulous date worth a thousand words...Brad. Ana, Kara, Gabrielle, and Britany. Brad comes and informs the women that they will be doing an eight page layout for Rimmel/LOULOU magazine, which of course impressed all of the women. They all went back to the Bear’s Mountain Westin Inn to get primped up and ready for their shoot. Brad hung out with all the women as they were getting changed and lots of makeup on.
Back at the mansion, Chantelle finds the next date card....Let’s take a walk in the city of love....Laura B and Bianka. The city of love, Chantelle automatically says it first...Paris. This of course gets a prompt from Whitney stating that she’s glad that she’s not going on that date as automatically one of the women will be going home.
Back at the Westin, Brad gets changed into his wardrobe before him and Gabrielle head out to a limousine for the first part of their shoot together. Kara and Britany walk outside to see what’s up, but of course the limo has tinted windows making it impossible to get a glimpse of what’s going on. Kara’s the next one to get her time with Brad. Both of them seem to be enjoying themselves and lots of smiles and laughter happening. Ana is next, and their shoot revolves around walking the “red carpet” per se. Finally it is Britany’s turn and she is getting more and more stressed with it as time has gone along. When the shoot was done, Brad took them up to his room where all of them were able to have some more quiet time with him. Britany was the first one to get him aside and she tells him about her family. She told him about the fact that there is depression in her family and how it has affected her. It was obviously something that hurt her a lot, yet, kudo’s to her for saying it. When it came time for Brad to hand out the rose, he said that he wanted more time to think about it so no rose would be handed out right now.
At the mansion, Whitney decides that she needs to break the “rules” to see Brad today and leaves the mansion to head to the Westin to confront him. Just as Brad is packing for his trip to Paris, a visitor knocks on his door. Opening up the door, Whitney is standing on his doorstep. They take a seat on his couch and Whitney lets it all out of how she gets butterflies talking to him, wants him to meet her family, wants to spend as much time with him as possible, and to talk about anything. Brad tells her that he wants to open up but it is hard for him to do so. Brad slowly at first, tells her about his best friend and how he committed suicide in Brad’s second year of university. If that wasn’t enough, but his other best friend was killed in a boating accident almost eighteen months later. I got to say, I really feel for Brad. Kudo’s to him for expressing what happened in his life. Takes a strong person to admit those things and how it really affected you on a show like this. Completely different for that to happen in a private setting.
Next up, Brad and two ladies hit the streets of Paris........
Laura was the first one to get her time with Brad on the streets of Paris around the Eiffel Tower. It was pouring rain and really too bad that it was that way as it obscured the view a few times, but all in all, an amazing sight, seeing the tower. They headed back to Brad’s room to get warmed up and have a talk. After changing into their housecoats, they settled down on the couch for some conversation and lip sharing.
Back at the mansion, another date card arrives and it is for the individual date. Ana reads out the card....Put your trust in me and let adventure be your guide. Whitney gets the date.
In Paris, it is now Bianka’s turn. Brad is standing on top of the steps and we see Bianka approaching from below, tapping him on his shoulder, you can see him almost jumping out of his skin. The two of them walk off down the streets of Paris as they head to a local coffee shop where Brad uses his knowledge of French to order some crepes and coffee. As they sit there talking, Brad asks her if it is just them in the end, what does she want to come out of it..... As Brad states in an ITM, his feelings towards her are growing immensely but he’s still waiting for her to trust him. He tells her that he loves being with her and that everytime is better than the last. A big thing to me is that Bianka said in an ITM of how she feels herself softening up.
Next, Brad is waiting for both Laura and Bianka to show as he needs to make the final choice of which one of them will be sent home. We get a look at both women getting ready to meet up with Brad and when they do meet him, Brad tells them that he’s made his decision and wants to give the rose to Bianka. When Brad has said goodbye to Laura, he takes off for a carriage ride with Bianka through the streets around Paris.
Up next, Brad and Whitney land in Penticton, my hometown, and begin their date with a heli ride up into the hills of the east side of Skaha Lake. They make their way up to the Skaha Bluffs area where they meet up with their guide for the day and Whitney learns what they will be doing. Needless to say, it isn’t for the faint of heart. Don’t think either of them were told that there are easier ways to get off of that rock other than what they did, but after gearing up, Whitney was the first to rappel down Diamondback face pausing about three quarters of the way down and waited for Brad to catch up. The exercise that they were trying to perform was a safety and rescue one where Whitney was going to simulate being trapped on the side of the cliff and Brad would rappel down and rescue/guide her to the bottom. When they got down off the cliff, they went to the Spirit Ridge Vineyard, Resort and Spa in Osoyoos, overlooking Osoyoos Lake. It is about a 40 min drive there from the Skaha Bluffs. They went to the Nk’mip Estate Winery to begin the night portion of their date where they enjoyed the sunset outside by a fire, overlooking the lake. At the end of the night, he gives her the rose.
Back at the mansion, Brad arrives and finds out that there has been a major incident happening. Chantelle’s grandfather has died and she’s made up her mind to go back home in time for his funeral. Really sweet girl and I personally wish her and the family well.
After Brad arrives at the mansion for the cocktail party, he makes his speech and then Gabrielle was the first one to talk to him. Not long after they start talking, Whitney comes out to interrupt. Hmm, IMO, not really all that cool considering she’s already got a rose, but....
The women gather into their regular place for the rose ceremony and after the regular speech from Tyler, brad is brought into the room, makes his speech as well, then hands out a rose to Kara. Picking up the last rose, he pauses before setting it back down in the dish and asking for a few minutes. He goes back into his deliberation room where he once again looks at the pictures of the women and we get an ITM from him saying how he’s trying to figure out who would go the farthest with him out of Gabrielle, Ana, and Britany. He comes back into the rose ceremony room, picks up the last rose and hands it out to Gabrielle.
The final four going home for hometown dates next week are: Bianka, Kara, Gabrielle, Whitney.
EPISODE 5
Bachelor Canada: Meet the Family....all Four!
Tonight’s episode of Bachelor Canada begins with Brad at the Westin in Victoria talking about each of the women that he has chosen so far and what he finds best about them and their relationships.
Kara: Has a way of making you feel comfortable and you can open up to her, gorgeous, selfless, smart, fun to be around, sense of ease to be around and fun with her.
Bianka: a girl that makes him feel more comfortable every time he’s with her, understands his sense of humour, constantly challenges him, one of the more sincere people, falling for her badly, very nurturing and caring, daunted by the fact that this is such a huge step for her. but: does she see a life with him?
Gabrielle: gorgeous, whit and sass, says what’s on her mind, can see himself with her, deep person, intellect, sweet sensitive side.
Whitney: intense, passionate, intensity is what draws him, possibly the hottest girl seen in his life, comfortable immediately, could of fizzled out but got better, goes for anything, not really great at saying what she feels. To progress, she has to verbalize to him exactly what she’s feeling.
First date:
Brad arrives in Mississauga, Ontario for his first hometown date with Bianka. After their greeting complete with a long hug and a few smooches, they walk down the street to an icecream parlour where they head inside and the owner/worker must know Bianka as they great with a kiss on the cheek before he asks her if she wants her usual. But before he dishes it up, she asks Brad to guess what her favorite icecream is. He guesses mint chocolate chip and says cause it is his favorite, which of course turns out to be hers and the one that she usually gets there. Brad states in an ITM of how when he first met Bianka, he thought that they were the opposite, but as he has gotten to know her, he is realizing that they actually have a lot in common. In an ITM, Bianka is saying how she is taking this slow and easy because in her past she has given a guy something too quick and it hasn’t worked out for her so she’s going to take this one in her own pace. They walk towards a park where there is a blanket and wine glasses set up and ready for them. After sitting down, Brad asks her where she is now with this and where she can see it going. She expresses that she feels really good about where this is going as it is going in the right direction for her, but trust is something really huge for her as she has been cheated on before multiple times. She is afraid to completely let her emotions go as trust is so important. When Brad asks her how can he help her with that, she says to let go of all three girls, causing him to break out in laughter. They break out in hugs and kisses. Brad in an ITM summarizes his feelings on the private time of their date: With him and Bianka, it is an organic feeling and their relationship is steadily moving forward which is the best thing about them, really easy to be around, very nurturing and caring, excited to meet their parents.
As they walk up the street and back to the car, she tells him that her parents don’t speak much English and hard to understand them so communication may be a problem. Driving to the house, you can see Brad is getting nervous, but like a champ, powering through it(don’t be nervous now Brad, you haven’t entered the house yet). Brad’s personality shone through here as he stated in an ITM with a head nod, Croatian off the bat and he’s terrified....LOL. Got to love ya Brad. When she finally lets him in on the secret about her parents speaking English, it is obvious that Brad finally realized he had been had. Laughing it off, he was finally able to shake hands with her dad and the night just got better from there. Brad is introduced to her mom Bo, dad Steve, brother Daniel, and aunt Anne. Bo told the story of her and Steve’s meeting and how they only knew each other for 4 weeks before getting engaged and have now been married for 32 years. (ED note: I too know that short engagements can result in long marriages. Met my husband and we were married 6 weeks after meeting, now married going on 25 yrs, so it can work.)
In an ITM, Brad states how Bianka’s family is down to earth and all about keeping the family close and that’s his type of people. When Bianka and her mom get some alone time Bianka sates how she really, really likes him but is finding herself holding back as always. Then Brad and Steve have some alone time outside, immediately you can see a sword sitting on the table and Brad makes the comment about weaponry on the table already. The conversation turned towards Steve saying that if Bianka didn’t find the chemistry between them right, she would have been gone already and Brad agreed as well. When they are all back inside, Bianka jokes and mentions something about her future husband, to which her dad piped in immediately with saying that the priest should come around…..LOL. The date ended with Brad and Bianka sharing some nice kisses outside by the truck. In an ITM at the end, Brad states how it feels like a real relationship and that he’s dating her.
Up next……….Kara’s HTD
Kara is waiting for Brad on the dock at Granville Island in Vancouver. When he does show up, they greet with some kisses and a big hug. After meeting up, they continue walking down the wharf where they stop and have a chat about who Brad will be meeting today. Kara states that Brad will meet her sister, mom, nephew but won’t meet her dad as he is stuck working in Saskatchewan and can’t make it. Brad states in an ITM that Kara is someone that you can start your life with. There is no trying, just easy. When asked, she says that her dad would really like Brad. In another ITM, Brad says how things are really natural with them and what he likes most is that with Kara, she is treating this like she is the only one here and as so, things just work with them. They head into the Granville island market where they pick up some strawberries before walking back out onto the pier where Kara tells him that their surprise is pulling up…..and points to the water where a boat pulls to the pier. She tells Brad that her uncle is the owner and they are going on a tour of English Bay on the boat. After introductions were made between Brad and her uncle, they hopped on board, popped the champagne and ate some strawberries. During one of their conversations, Brad states that out of everyone else, he feels the most secure around her. Then asks her if she is attached to BC or if she’d move, to which she answered as long as she can be close enough to travel to her family to be there when wanted. Their alone part ended nicely as they made their way to the dock to get off the boat.
Leaving the boat, they make their way to Kara’s family’s place. In an ITM, Brad stated how he wasn’t nervous at all and mostly because Kara put him at ease and in a place that let him know that this girl really wanted him there. Arriving at the house with a bottle of wine, Brad is introduced to her mom, sister, brother-in-law, aunt, and uncle. Her mom makes the apologies about Kara’s dad not able to be there. It was obvious that it bothered Kara that her father couldn’t be there, but on the other hand, Kara handled it like a trouper and the family and Brad headed outside to the patio. As the family is digging in to a home cooked meal, you can see this guy appearing from within the house, and when he puts his hands over Kara’s eyes, she immediately knew it was her dad. Kara was obviously shaken and overjoyed at her father being there. When they finished eating, both parents had a chance to sit down with Brad and Kara to discuss things and they appear to be taking Brad on face value, appreciating that this isn’t an easy process and as Brad stated to them, he is going about it as trying to have respect for everyone, find the one he wants and in the end, they can decide what is best for them. After that, Kara and her mom head inside for some alone time where her mom asks Kara if she thinks Brad is “the one”. Kara says that she could see that he may be the one, but we’ll have to see. Then we get some more time where Brad is out there talking to the rest of the family about their date on the ranch near the Rockies where they are cattle rustling, and in Brad’s typical explanatory way, making fun of Kara on the horse….too cute! It was obvious from everyone there that Brad was the hit of the group. The family walked Brad out and then left to leave Kara saying goodbye to Brad in private. Brad summed up the visit as saying that there was never an awkward moment in that entire night as it was seamless. Even Kara said in an ITM of how she knows that she loves him. The last words from Brad were: “driving off, my thought was can I U-Turn back as I can see myself falling in love.”
Up next……..Gabrielle’s HTD
Gabrielle meets up with Brad in Oakville, Ontario where they meet at a coffee shop. Brad states in an ITM how he really wants to spend his first really quality one on one time with Gabrielle to figure out where she comes from. They spend a short period of time at the coffee shop before Gabrielle whisks them off to her surprise of the day….a senior’s rec center where she is a volunteer at. The two of them wander inside where Brad meets some of the seniors that Gabby works with. They sit down to a round of Bingo with some of the seniors and of course, Brad takes it all in his stride. As he states in an ITM, Gabby is really surprising him with this date so far and in a good way too. Horshradish and cinnamon-gravy appear to be Brad’s newest mudslinging words during the friendly Bingo game when a B1 is called and Gabby wins the game…LOL.
When they arrive at her parent’s place, he arrives with a bottle of wine and meets mom, uncle sam, wife Nival, their kids Jeni, David, Peter, and also meeting her cousin Paris. After all the introductions were made, they all sat down to dinner. Then the charmer Paris kicked in and true to form, Brad just went along with it all. After dinner, Gabby and her family introduce Brad to belly dancing. Being good natured as he is, he gave it a whirl by putting on the belt and trying to shake it as he’s told to do. Running man, belly dancing and fun, Brad did it all with a huge smile. After that, Paris took Gabby away for a private chat. In an ITM, Brad stated that he loved being around Gabby today as she was fun and loving being around her family and was something that was really good to see. After saying goodbye to everyone, he and Gabrielle walked out to say goodbye. They shared a few kisses and a hug before Brad left saying in an ITM how he could see himself with her.
Next….Whitney’s HTD
Whitney is the last hometown date and is waiting for Brad in a park. In her ITM, she is saying that she finds herself becoming shy around him or not discussing her feelings, then in an ITM, we are getting the same thing from him as well, but more to the point, he really needs to hear those things this time. He’s also looking forward to meeting her family to find out if it is an inherent trait or just not comfortable being around him yet. In order for them to progress, he needs her to verbalize what her emotions are. When they do meet up, they do share a longer kiss than with the others, but break it off shortly and after they meet up, they head out to the Olympic Park in Calgary where the 1988 Winter Olympics were held. When they get near enough to see the ski jumps, she informs Brad that her father helped build them and told him that they were going to go there. As they go up the road towards the jumps, she asks him if he’s sweating yet as they are not going back down this mountain in the vehicle. When they get there, she informs him that they are going to go bobsledding instead…he is completely relieved as he’s glad that they aren’t doing the ski jumping. After they meet up with Chris who is the National Olympic Bobsled Pilot, get their jumpsuits on, they get changed before coming back out. When all were dressed, they hopped into the bobsled…first was Brad, followed by Whitney, then finally Chris after he got their bobsled started, he hopped in behind the other two.
Before they meet up with her family, they take some time out on a park bench for some more chat. In an ITM, Brad states how he gets the great feelings from her but she doesn’t verbalize how she’s feeling. With her great intensity comes the mystery because he just doesn’t know where he stands. After Brad tells her that he needs to ‘hear’ what she’s feeling, she starts telling him something and stops. When she stops, she says, yea, I know. Then of course, he tells her that this is what he’s talking about, he needs to hear it. So, my take on this is, he’s not going to get out of her what he needs therefore, why the heck is she still there? In an ITM by Brad, he says that the initial great chemistry is still there, but she really has to verbalize her emotions. Anyhow, they head off to her family’s place where he arrives with a bottle of wine and meets her mom Melinda, dad Jeff, twin sister Camille and Camille’s daughter Gia. After the introductions were made and everyone gets to know one another, Jeff and Brad head outside to have a chat. When all was said and done, Jeff just wanted to make sure Brad knew what he was getting in Whitney of how outspoken, go getter that she is and so on. They then head inside for dinner where they all have a chance to chat some more. After listening to Jeff speak so eloquently about Whitney and what he sees in her with Brad, Brad turns to Whitney and asks her what she thinks about that. Instantly you get the yea, uh, oh, stuff but no real explanation or words. We then get an ITM from Brad saying how a light goes off and how he sees that her parents are so expressive which is the exact opposite of how Whitney is around him. This of course gives him an immense ah ha moment. Then as Jeff begins to ask Whitney questions, one of them was if she thought that she and Brad had a great thing happening and could see him as the one….she deflected the question and never really answered it, as Brad stated in an ITM. He also said that he thinks that she likes him, but will she look at you and say I really like you, nope is his answer as he shakes his head. (ED note again: Communication is the backbone of any great relationship, not seeing it at this point….RED FLAG?) Brad says goodbye to her parents before Whitney walked him the short distance to the car and said her goodbyes to him there by giving him a short kiss and hug. In a closing ITM he states how he needs to get Whitney alone and ask her direct questions as he just can’t be with a person who is emotionally closed off and needs to have answers to the red flags that he’s seeing.
Back in Victoria, as the women get ready for the rose ceremony, they all reminisce of their hometown dates, how they went and whether they are going to get a rose tonight. After the ladies line up for the rose ceremony, Tyler comes in for his regular speech and when Brad is brought in, he asks to speak to Whitney before the ceremony begins. He confronts her about her non-ability to communicate and express her feelings towards him. She tells him that it is 100% there and would absolutely regret going home. Obviously more words were exchanged than what we saw, but after seemingly been satisfied, they head back inside where Brad hands out the roses to Kara, Bianka and Whitney. After the women say their goodbye’s, Brad walks Gabby out.
Hope you enjoyed this week’s blog and I will be back next week to sum up the Fantasy Dates and all the trials and tribulations, as well as the fun and romance that they experience. Let us know what you think of the blog in the comments.
My thoughts on tonight’s epi:
To me, Brad seems really happy with and more outgoing with Bianka and Kara. He seems to be “chasing” Bianka and is more impressed with how far their relationship has come than the other two. With Kara, he is really happy period.
With Whitney, finally he is sounding like he is seeing the red flags that as viewers, we have been privy to for a while. Hope that he finds all of them before it is too late….
EPISODE 6
Fantasy Dates: Canadian Maritimes Showcased!
Tonight’s episode of Bachelor Canada begins with Brad in Victoria as he is getting packed, boarding the jet and flying off, we are getting glimpses into the relationships that he is having with each of the three remaining women.
Bianka: Relationship with her is a lot deeper than he thought it would be at this time, at first thought she wasn’t into him, since Mexico – went from 0-100 in just 4 weeks, Bianka is amazing-gorgeous, intelligent, provocative, would be a great wife, all about keeping family close and is his type of people. Completely fallen for her but is still waiting for her to trust him.
Kara: Is herself, easy to be around her, she is sweet, is cute, thinks he is really falling for her, all around amazing person. At htd’s felt more like himself around her family than anyone else. The most like him as far as personality goes, always consistent.
Whitney: From the moment out of the limo – blew him away. Gorgeous, smart, charming, beautiful, assertive right off the bat, every date-adrenelin based, holds so many qualities he wants, HTD’s and moodiness was eye-opening, emotional conversations – she shuts down, she has to express her emotions better.
Bianka is the first fantasy date and he can’t wait to see her. He is waiting at Ferryland Newfoundland as he looks out over the bay at the iceberg waiting off the coast. When she arrives, she runs up to him and jumps into his arms. As they walk arm in arm down to the shore, he tells her that they are kayaking around the iceberg and is the first adrenalin date that they have had. Throughout the kayak trip, it is obvious that Bianka is uncomfortable, then as they get closer to the iceberg, she expresses her fear and that is the deep water that they are kayaking in. The whole while, he was really trying to be supportive of her and as they got away from the iceberg, she calmed down. In an ITM, he expressed how he realized the reasons why she was having a hard time with it, but on the other hand, she didn’t get pouty or quiet and did express the fun of it as well. Once they finished going around the whole iceberg, they made their way towards land where they were able to get out of their kayak, spread out a blanket near a fire and Brad made them “dirty martini’s” with chipping ice from the iceberg. As he is bent over chipping the ice from the ‘berg, Bianka is watching him and expressing how she is liking the view. Really cute. After they have settled down on the blanket, he hands her the date card: Brad and Bianka if you should decide to forgo your individual rooms you can use this key....and so on, signed Tyler. Immediately Bianka isn’t so sure, and explains why in an ITM about how she is so leery of the cheating factor and is so worried about it, but when Brad explains to her that it is a time that they can spend together and get to know one another better, then all seems better. They board a heli and get an ariel view of the berg that they just finished kayaking around. When they arrive at their suite, they find candles, iced champagne, and rose petals on the bed. The last scene that we see are the two of them kissing while laying on the bed.
Next up...........Kara’s Fantasy Date
Brad arrives to pick up Kara in the jet and they are headed out to the Fox Harbour Resort. Champagne in hand, they fly off and land near the resort. Driving the golf cart around the resort, they arrive at the skeetshoot range where they shoot skeets and each hit, a question gets asked by the winner of the hit towards the other person. After a few misses, brad finally gets the first hit in and gets the first question. Kara finally gets her first hit and Brad seems equally happy for her. After a few hits were achieved, questions answered, they climbed up to the top of the tower at the resort and watched the sunset. As the sun finished setting, we could see them inside the resort sharing champagne and having a chat on the couch. Brad produces the date card and of course Kara takes it. They head upstairs to their suite to find rose petals on the floor leading up to the bed. We leave them as we see them sharing a few kisses as they sit on the bed.
Next up............Whitney’s Fantasy Date
As Brad is driving to meet up with Whitney, he is expressing his concerns from her hometown date with him and how she is so emotionally closed off. We then see Whitney waiting for him on the dock and get in an ITM how she knows he wants her to express herself better, but we’ll see. She also states because of their chemistry, she’s really not worried. After they greet one another they walk down the dock to the boats where a lobster fisherman is waiting to take them out fishing. Out on the water, they set the lobster traps, haul in the catch, band and tag the lobsters. When they are done, they are brought back to shore where they are given some lobsters in a cooler for their dinner. They arrive at the Ravenglass Cottage in Sea View, PEI where we next see them climbing into a hottub. As they sit there, it is obvious to me that Whitney is being standoff ish and then we immediately get an ITM from Brad stating how he can feel that Whitney’s wheels are turning and how he cannot be in a relationship where the emotions are suppressed and that is what he’s getting from her. When she finally does open up in the hottub and tell him more verbally of how she’s feeling, he obviously is happy with that as he says so in the following ITM. They finish up in the hottub and head up to sit down on the deck to enjoy their dinner with the setting sun as a backdrop. When the date card is produced, she accepts and the last we see is them sitting on the deck looking at one another.
The next day, we see Brad getting ready for the rose ceremony. He is talking about the women and saying how hard of a decision it is for him. With Bianka, he’s really falling for this girl and when he’s around her, he doesn’t want to be anywhere else. She’s gorgeous and she’s everything I am not in a lot of amazing ways but he still questions whether she can see a life with him. With Kara, there is a consistency that he loves, amazing, is the type of person he wants to be with. With Whitney, her physical chemistry is amazing, her intensity is more than he’s had with any other girl and she really is starting to open up to him. The only one that he still has a question for or storyline for is Bianka. He pulls into the Dalvay by the Sea in Dalvay, PEI which is the location of the rose ceremony.
We now see the women getting ready for the rose ceremony and are hearing in an ITM Whitney wondering if she is the girl for him. They had a very romantic date and everything was great, but she’s wondering if she is the one for him or not and if she’s actually ready for this as she’s wondering if this is what she really wants. She makes a phone call to her sister Camille who tries to tell Whitney that it is completely unfair to him if Whit is so unsure of what she’s doing. Which is completely true. So, at the end of their convo, we still don’t know what Whitney is going to do other than in her ITM, she states how she loves being around him, spending time with him and she just doesn’t really know if she’s ready for the next step.
Up next........rose ceremony
Once Tyler comes out and gives his traditional speech, then Brad, he hands out the first rose to Bianka and the second one to Whitney leaving Kara as the one leaving for the night. The most shocking part of the rose ceremony though is when Kara is saying goodbye to everyone, Whitney beats her to the punch and gets to Brad’s side claiming that she needs to talk to him now of all times. Brad is visibly torn between them as he asks Kara for a few seconds as Whitney is obviously determined to take him aside and make what is already an awkward situation a whole lot worse. She’s trying to get it out what she wants to tell him and once again it is painfully obvious the lack of communication in their relationship. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see how upset Brad is that Whit picked that time of all times to do this. Then when he finally gets done, he asks Whit to apologize to Kara. Going back towards Kara, it is a lame apology that Whit gives. When Brad does walk Kara out, he himself says that he is beyond sorry for that and Kara’s character shone through as well when she said that she understands and he doesn’t need to do that for her. After saying his goodbyes to Kara, we get an ITM from Brad expressing his feelings of anger and disappointment towards Whitney and that he can’t understand what goes through her mind. When he is talking to Whitney, he says that 80% of the time she’s fine then the other 20% of the time he really doesn’t understand what is going on with her. Hmm, to me that sounds like he is finally figuring out that maybe Whitney isn’t the one that he should go for. When they were finished their talk, he doesn’t even kiss her so to me that also shows how upset he was over it all. He was trying to hug her and she is pulling away from him....
Next week a whole new amount of fun begins as the Women tell All is on. It shows Whitney as making an appearance, but we don’t see Bianka in the lineup. No matter, it looks like it will be a cat fight anyways and I will be back next week to sum things up.
EPISODE 7
Brad’s Journey to Love Ends Tonight!
Throughout the season, the editing would leave one to believe that Brad ends up with Whitney, but is that the way it will go?
Tonight’s epi begins with Brad taking the final two women back to his hometown of Hudson, Quebec to meet his family. First though, he knows he needs to confront Whitney because of how the FD rose ceremony ended.
Their date starts at the golf course near the family home when he starts off by apologizing to her as he says he feels he has led her down a different path that has caused her to open up and say what is on her mind, no matter what the timing of it is. They both start off swinging the club and trying to golf. Brad himself is swinging well, but Whitney on the other hand, not so much and you can see how frustrated she is getting. That is until he gives her a few golfing lessons and begins to hit the ball better herself. They come up on the 12th hole where there is a table and champagne waiting for them. Brad made a toast and said “cheers kiddo”, well, that phrase may come in handy later on tonight.
Brad and Whitney arrive at his parents home where she is introduced to his mother Leesa, sister Ashley, brother in law Damon, his nephews Drew and Hunter, best friend Mike, and his father Larry. Once all introductions were made and Brad/Whitney got changed, they all went outside to talk. I don’t know if it was me or if the sound was cutting out for everyone, but every time someone asked Whitney a question, we could hear the question, but we never heard a response from her. To me, this was one of the most awkward date that I have ever seen on any bachelor/ette season probably dating back to season four of the Bachelorette USA version. Eventually Leesa and Ashley go inside to talk in the kitchen and Ashley’s first comment is how intense Whitney is and Leesa feels that she is really nervous. Bingo on both counts, but let’s face it, this date never really gets any better by a long shot. They thought that the best way to get to know Whitney better was to bring her into the kitchen where the three of them can talk better. After some more questions and confrontations in the kitchen, it is obvious that they just aren’t going to be able to get any answers out of her. At the end of the night, there was a toast made in the kitchen, quick goodbyes out to all but no friendly goodbye at all. Brad walked Whitney out and they themselves said a quick goodbye and she was off. Brad may of summed it up the best – With Whitney it is so much work and he doesn’t know if he can handle it with her.
Brad heads off to meet up with Bianka. He knows that he is falling for her badly, but is also unsure of how she feels for him. He pulls up where she is standing waiting for her and jumps out of the car, runs up to her and gives her a good hug and some kisses. After getting pulling up in front of a hotdog joint, they grab two “steamies” and sit down to eat a lunch before carrying on with their tour of Hudson. They continue along their drive to his parents place, but along the way, they stop and pick up some beer to take. Immediately the feel of it is so different from Whitney’s date. They all greet with hugs and jubilance. Heading out into the back yard, they gather around the picnic table and are able to have a great conversation. Any question that is asked, she is answering. Later, Bianka goes inside with Ashley and Leesa who have more of a chance to get to know her and as Ashley says, Bianka comes off as “polished” and the answers are “what we want to hear”. It is soon found out that what they are getting is exactly who/what Bianka is. No games, just someone that is real and down to earth. Meanwhile, Brad and Mike are sitting out in the backyard talking about his feelings towards Bianka and as Mike summed it up, Brad is more comfortable in his own skin than he’s seen him in a long time. When the goodbyes happened, there were hugs all around and there was a genuine unhappiness with saying goodbye so early in the night. When Brad walked her out, it was obvious the closeness between them as they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Bianka finally gave him what he’s been wanting too as she told him that she is finding herself falling in love with him. They shared a few kisses before she drove off.
Next up, Brad meets up with his family again when they discuss the women and his family weigh in on what they think about them.
Sitting there with his family, he admits where he feels the relationships with either women are. With Bianka, they go up, reach a plateau, then go up again. There never seems to be any down slope to it. Where as with Whitney, it is a constant up and down battle but the downs, he is really struggling and trying to find out if he can survive them. When asked if he has absolutely made up his mind which one, the answer is no. Ashley pipes up saying that she knows which one she’d choose for him and of course he asks. She quickly responds with Bianka and describes how it felt to be around her. How she fits in, how she came in and sat down like she was already a member of the family. With Whitney though, she is calculative, knows where she’s been, she has a plan and it is a completely different vibe/feeling. I think Ashley summed it up by saying that she’s been around Brad for 28 years, loves him, but did not like him at all when he was around Whitney. His dad, Larry, then tuned in with how this is a lengthy decision and one that is entirely his own, but keep in mind that he’s got to make sure he can live with the decision which is all about Brad and what Brad wants/needs. When the chat was done, Brad and his parents had a heartfelt goodbye moment before he left for Barbados. The significance of him going to there is that six months before, he was vacationing with his family there and made the decision to settle down and make a life for himself which resulted in the opportunity of doing the show.
After arriving in Barbados, the first last chance date he has is with Bianka. He is waiting for her at the Apes Hill Polo Club when she pulls up and runs over to jump into his arms. Once they get changed into their polo outfits, they board their horses and get a polo lesson which involves teamwork and sportsmanship. Playing polo is like playing hockey on a horse....great summation there Brad!! LOL. When they were finished with their polo experience, they took a leisurely walk along the beach before sitting down at a beach side cafe where they sipped some drinks. Here is where Bianka begins to share everything with him. Her bottled up emotions that she’s been too afraid to share until now and as she lets the tears flow, all the while assuring him that she loves him and has never been happier. In my mind, we are seeing the realization of their love story happening right here and now. WOW.
The next day, Brad is waiting at a marina for Whitney as he has a day planned out on the water in a yacht. After a brief greeting, they board the yacht and leave the harbour as they make their way out onto the ocean, to me it is obvious that Whitney is going through the motions and that there is something wrong so far with their date. Again, it seems tension filled and not as easy flowing as his date with Bianka the day before. As they sit down to talk, there is a lot of tension and if the weather is any indication, their relationship is really going downhill on a slippery slope really quickly. Their date ends with them sitting on the yacht with no resolution in sight.
The next day, Brad realizes that this is a nowhere situation since Calgary and it is time to say goodbye. As he gets to Whitney’s place, she immediately wants to tell him something but as he is there for a reason, he wants to explain things first. This of course she doesn’t like and heads into another room. He tries to explain that he now knows that this is a no win situation and that they aren’t right for each other prompting her to close the door on his face. The look on his face is very much what was on mine as well with her explanation....kinda like give your head a shake. What’s with the comment about him not respecting her when all the poor guy was trying to do is to break things off nicely at her place without her having to go through all the rose ceremony problems. I’d call that very respectful! NOW, if you remember my comment during their MTP date when they were golfing and the toast was kiddo, well, to me, she was acting very childish here with how she handled the rejection. What it boiled down to her is that she wanted to be the one to tell him no, but she was beaten to the punch and she couldn’t handle that. (I wonder if this gets addressed next week at the After the Final Rose?) Believe me, he wasn’t the only one that was baffled by her behaviour and he summed it up right I think when he said that not only is Whitney not the right one for him, but she’s not right for anyone right now.
Now back to the love story that counts.....
The next day as brad does a reflective walk along the beach, he knows it is Bianka that he wants and as he states, there never was any other choice as she is the one he wants. Paul Tacori arrives with the box of engagement rings for Brad to look at. After looking at the rings, he chooses the princess cut ring that is absolutely gorgeous. As Brad gets dressed and has a chance to reflect on his journey, we see him sitting outside talking with tears of joy on his face. Driving to The Crane, it is obvious that he is extremely happy and is looking forward to the time that Bianka arrives.
Bianka is getting ready for the day, knowing that today is decision day and as she says, it is so surreal. Getting dressed in her white gown and green jewels from Tacori, she is absolutely looking wonderful. On the ride to the resort, she too is reflecting on her journey, how far she has come from someone that didn’t know if she’d even stay to where she is now and knowing full well that it would kill her if she had to leave here without him. Walking up to meet Tyler Harcott, he guides her down the path and steps to where she can walk on her own to where Brad is waiting for her.
I am going to say, that as an audience member, I was floored at how romantic it was, how sincere the two of them were and how realistic the production crew were able to capture the moment.
As Bianka walked towards him, the flood of emotion on Brad’s face was so endearing. He was obviously taken aback by the moment. The proposal was magical and for me to try to copy down the words here and now, just wouldn’t do it justice and thus, I am not even going to try.
When the proposal was done, the song Heaven by Bryan Adams was played in the background as we were treated to a montage of their video clips from their journey to find love. So, bottom line, congrats Bianka and Brad.... B & B forever!
Personally, I thought the production crew did a fabulous job with the season and hope that we will have more Bachelor Canada seasons to come!!
You can find the season wrap up chart here:
Coastal will be interviewing Brad and Bianka later on today and will post the interview onto the site when done.
Over the next few days, our picture montage dedicated to Brad and Bianka will be posted in the Media Section in the Bachelor Canada forum.
Bachelor Canada: After the Final Rose
Bachelor Canada tonight was one for the story books; books of love that is. Tonight we had our final episode from Bachelor Canada season one and may I say, it will be sad to see the last of Brad and Bianka on our tv’s, but really great knowing that they found each other and are starting their lives together.
Brad was brought out onto the stage first looking absolutely beaming at the prospect of being able to be in a crowd that knows his final outcome. As he said, he can almost pull a Tom Cruise, as he thinks he could almost climb up onto the couch. Now he states, you never go onto the show saying my wife is in that room, but he did come onto the show with the best of intentions of finding someone that he can make a future with and that is where Bianka comes in. He then leaves the stage as we go into commercial break and are told that Whitney will come out onto the stage to get her opinion of what happened.
When Whitney does come on the stage, Tyler asks her what it’s been like since the show. Now she does say that when people meet her in person, they are really nice, but the ones that sit behind the computer screens talking about her don’t know her at all. I guess I am one of those guilty ones, but then again, all we can talk about is exactly what we are shown. If that isn’t actually who you are, then how can we think differently?? Bottom line, we’ve been hearing from other contestants that “yes, Whitney is being portrayed properly.” So, if you were to listen to that, and listen to what Whitney says and see how she acts, then we as the viewers can assume that it is the true Whitney that we are viewing, am I right??
We were then given a montage of Whitney and her time on the show. She seemed to smile up until the time where Brad told the story of his friends. From then on, her smile faded and tension could be seen on her face. IMO, that’s the time when things actually changed for them as it was around the time that she had her HTD in Calgary and that is where the tension between Brad and Whitney increased ten-fold. At this time, Tyler also asked her when things started changing for her and she replied that it was for their rock climbing date in Penticton. I got to say myself, if it was that early, then why in the heck did this girl continue to accept roses and take them away from others when she herself admitted that she wasn’t feeling it as much for Brad(more on this later)? Through her conversation with Tyler, it was continually brought up of how she is closed off and not communicative.
We were shown another montage of Brad and Whitney’s final days together, then Brad was then brought out onto the stage along with Whitney. I am going to give Brad props here as he did try to get to the bottom of what was the problem between them; the miscommunication, the neglect on her part to end it sooner if she just wasn’t feeling it. But when he did question it by saying to her why didn’t she tell him that she wasn’t feeling it, she immediately turned it back on him saying that he’s at fault for not ending it sooner because he had the choice to as well. Props to Brad here, but, he did say that if you are someone that is feeling it and are being fed something, why would you end it. He is 100% true here. Why would any normal person end things early if he’s feeling it, she’s telling him that she’s feeling it, why the heck would he kick the girl to the curb. Sheesh. Not only did Brad give his head a shake at that comment, but surely a lot of Canada did as well, not to mention the audience there that were clapping him for his question. WOW. Bottom line while Whitney was on stage with Brad, he never really berated her in front of the audience at all. The only thing that he was trying to get to the bottom of is when and why did she not leave if she wasn’t feeling it for him. Again, the miscommunication problems that Whitney has came into this as well.
Brad was then asked questions on stage by online audiences. They ranged from rose order, intimacy on camera, how the HTD went with Bianka thinking that her parents didn’t speak any English. Then Tyler went to the rapid question period.......wow, talk about quickfire. Questions went along the lines of: Full name, most precious possession, most important feature in a woman, the best impression, explain his love of the deep-v, love at first sight, worse personal habit, biggest pet peeve, the best bachelorette(Bianka), funniest bachelorette(Anna), best kisser(Bianka), smartest bachelorette(Bianka), favorite one-on one date(Paris), what do you wear to bed, do you want kids and how many, first thing to do with Bianka in public – SMOOCH! He says with a delightful grin. The last question he was asked in the quick-fire was how long does he spend on his hair....then they switch to this montage of “hair preening” clips that they had....suffice it to say, a little more than five min was spent. LOL.
Next up, Bianka comes on stage..........
When Bianka was announced by Tyler, Brad leapt to his feet and was looking from one side of the stage to the other to find out where she was arriving from. No sooner did she turn the corner as he was practically leaping over the couch to get to her.....waay too cute! Can I just say...both of them, Brad and Bianka are very proud dimple owners as they were creased from the moment they sat down together till the end of the show.
I don’t know how to go into all the details here, but bottom line, the majority of their time on the stage was just that, talking about their connection. They talked about the turn of the tide for them in their relationship and how Mexico was the real start of it for her. They talked about their getaway’s that they have had. The trip to Rhode Island and the board games they played. Bianka was asked how hard it was for her to watch Brad having a connection with the other women, and to be honest, she had a terrific answer; it was hard to watch, but she didn’t get jealous as she is the one that has him in the end and trusts him. Another turning point in their relationship happened in PEI, when during the FD’s they were on the beach and as Brad stated, she has the backbone to question him and put him in his place when needed and that is someone that he wants at his side. Then they were shown for the first time the montage of their engagement. Keep in mind, this was taped on Nov. 2 so it literally is the first time they would of been able to sit down together and watch it. The two of them were holding onto one another, crying and laughing throughout.
Watching the show tonight, I have to say that seeing Brad and Bianka on the stage, they exuded love and we at the Rose would like to wish them all the best for their future.
FINAL THOUGHTS ON THE SEASON:
- To be honest with all of you, I truly hope that if and when there is a Bachelorette Canada, Whitney ISN’T the bachelorette. As Brad summed it up very well, she’s just not ready to get married to anyone. To me, she’s not ready for a long term commitment as that takes the ability to communicate and it is obviously one of her weak points. Yes, Whitney, I am one of “those” that sit behind the computer and say stuff, but on the other hand, I have been in a 20+ year marriage and do know that communication is a big part of it.
- I think that the producers hit this season out of the park. The editing, scenery, activities and production of the show were A-1 for the first season. I do hope however that more of Canada is shown with subsequent seasons. What about another season that is strictly filmed during the summer and therefore more activities can be taken part in Canada itself with it’s many lakes, mountains and scenery.
- According to the publicised ratings, this series has been a hit and I really hope that there are more seasons to come!
We at the Rose would love to hear all of your thoughts on this season. Give it your best shot and maybe, just maybe, our thoughts and wishes will be heard as to what we’d all like to see for subsequent seasons.
UPDATE:
Brad and Bianka remained together for all of a couple of years before parting ways.
